  1. Wow! Your right. I already have bipolar spending issues don't anything more. I ended up extending it to October.
  2. Anyone having their surgery in October so we can support each other. My birthday month is October and my surgery is Tuesday October 8, 2019. So do we have any October babies for GastricSleeve?
  3. Here if your bmi is not over 35 bmi with comorbites or 40 bmi's no comorbites, you can't get the sleeve. Weight watchers maybe a slow process but if you stick to plan and learn to eat that way forever you will lose it all. My problem has always been sticking to plan even after getting into maintenance. Guess I think I have arrived after we achieve our goals but in reality it is a life time struggle. Go to the meetings they are alot of help.
  4. You should still tell them you will go and since they thought to leave you out, inside of doing something with you. Then when you go out to eat pull out your own food that you pre-perpared. That what get them. Don't worry your not alone and it will all work out.
  5. It's not a competition it is growth in self. A day at a time. Sent from my LM-Q710(FGN) using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. My insurance required a referral by my primary care doctor. The surgeon gave me an example letter for my doctor to follow. She had a friend who had a lap band and did awesome so she wrote up a real good letter after our meeting. Then I went back and took it to my surgeon. Let us know how it goes.
  7. I have my surgery date for September 17th. In the meantime I had to switch my provider for my mental medications. All the meds I had been taking had me were I was stable but now this new Provider wants me to wait on surgery until she can get my bipolar in more control. It didn't look like I was in control today but it was because I had just took meds before I came and some of my meds had ran out. Plus first time meeting her and hurried trying to make it on time for my appointment. How can she even determine that by one visit that I shouldn't have surgery because I have bipolar, I have bipolar 2 and it isn't that bad. She did ask alot of questions and had no problems with that but because I was antsy and talking fast she thought I have some issues and I need my meds adjusted first. She told me it will be to hard on me and not having my eating as a coping mechanism. I really don't want to cancel, it has taken me so long to get to the place to finally be able to have surgery. The psychiatrist that tested and gave me my evaulation said I was well below markers for bipolar to have surgery. He did say he wanted to see me every 3mths. I don't know what to do. I don't want to go crazy after surgery and drive myself and everyone else nuts. I just believe I will do fine but she has me worried. When I see her at end of August or the first of September and she wants me to stop surgery, it could go into November or December but if I call now it would change maybe to October. I just really really don't want to change my surgery date. She asked who was the doctor who performed my evaulation, not sure if she will call him and have him withdrawal his recommendation. What to do?
  8. Yeah right! Lol!
  9. That's close to my date September 17th. Congratulations! So happy for us!!
  10. September 17, 2019 GastricSleeve
  11. Thanks! Seems far away. I am glad gives a chances to have my clear liquids, vitamins, protein powder & shakes and things for bag when have surgery.

  13. What I have to look forward too lol
  14. I would all in. With what have U done. [emoji38]
  15. That is amazing
  16. It has went by rather quickly with all the mandatory tests. Yet I have felt like forever. I made it work a lot faster by doing the leg work and constantly calling them. Today I called to see if they had submitted my paperwork to my insurance and was able to find out they had and I also received my surgery date. September 17, 2019 Still a wait but not to long. Excited but nervous too.
  17. It will not be much longer for you. I am getting excited for you. Hope I have mine the same time as you, then we can share our journey and encourage each other but we will no matter what. August here we come. I think if paperwork goes well it will be end of August first of September. If it is in September, it will have to be 2nd week because I have a retreat coming up the first week of September. Praying for you!

  20. It seems like forever since I started the process but it has only been since May. I turned last requirement last week. Hopefully soon, as possible. Hope don't chicken out when they say yes but doubt it. I have made up my mind to be healthy. I know it will be no walk in the dark. Being buying a few items to eat for post op. Does it seem forever since you started, even those on post op or on maintenance? Before long I will be needing alot more advice.
  21. I found your dilemma you had like me. I did go pick up physic evaulation and took it to surgeons office. I hope they took the paper work to the insurance ladies office. I guess I will have to call again. They will be glad when I have the surgery so I quit calling. By now you've had your surgery hope your doing well.
  22. I told my oldest daughter not telling any of the children or grandchildren because they are rude about weight I've gained. Saying don't eat this or that. Your getting bigger and need exercise. So I am going show all the bay sayers I can lose weight. It will depend if you have an open dialogue with them and they respect you.
  23. I used to have a weight watcher scale and it was exact with the doctor. I bought a new one and i get on it 3 times with different amounts and I go with the high one or average it. If there is a 10lb difference you can be sure doctors is right. They usually have to collaborate the scale on a regular bases. Which if you weight on both even if ten pound difference I might choice the hightest. Maybe measure yourself instead.
  24. I am in the same boat of only having medicare as my only insurance. I had my initial appointment with surgeon. Then I had an endoscope, ultrasound, doctor approval letter and nutrition class. Last but not least my Phyic Evaluation in which results were given on Jun 12th and now waiting for them to send information to Surgeon. So far I have paid facility copay, doctor, copay for all tests and for antistisia. So far about $120.00 so next will be the surgery. So hopefully not to much. In Tennessee.
