Thank you for the great suggestions! I need to start thinking outside the box! 👍🏽On 07/07/2019 at 10:32, Healthy_life2 said:
Find healthy ways to eat your old favorites with no guilt. Nutrition is still flavorful.
Nachos - Quest tortilla chips, ground turkey 99% lean, taco seasoning, diced green and red bell peppers, onion, salsa and a small amount of cheese
Pizza - Veggies, turkey sausage and pepperoni (keeps calories lower) Small amount of cheese on a cauliflower crust.

Hopefully because we are driving I will be fine. We can stop for me to walk periodically. That sucks you had to cancel. 😕On 07/07/2019 at 10:48, 2ndTimeFreedom said:
I just had to cancel a work trip that is scheduled 3 weeks post op because the MD said no. However, It was only a two hour flight but I understood and the chance for blood clots was enough for me to just say ok DOC.

Cool! That gives me hope! We are going to Mall of America (Nickelodeon Universe) and some nearby attractions. Of course I won’t ride but it’s for the kids. 🙂 Yeah only thing that will real suck I’ll be still on full liquids 😓On 07/07/2019 at 10:22, BlueAngelEyes said:
At 2 weeks post op we stayed in San Diego for 2 days to go to sea world and the tide pools and i brought an ice chest that we left in the car with things i can eat. At the hotel i was able to warm Protein broth in the microwave and in the cooler i kept Protein yogurt , string cheese, sf pudding and few other things. It went fine. Alittle sad when everyone else gets to eat yummy delicious food and im the one eatting a yogurt with a plastic spoon but o well i tryed my best.. good luck with ur road trip it sounds so fun!

Hello all! I go see my Dr. on the 11th for my one week check up so I’ll ask him. But in the meantime has anyone here traveled 3 weeks post-op? We planned a road trip (8hr drive) and by that time I’ll be 3 wks out. Will only be for 2 days. There will be a lot of walking involved but I can sit down when/if I tire out. This trip is mostly for my kids and this month since I’m off due to FMLA we decided to try. If he says it’s not safe of course we will have to cancel. But just curious if anyone has been in same situation?

I’ve already had slight buyers remorse when I think of random foods i probably will never eat the same again. Like nachos 😨 or deep dish 🍕. But I’ll take being healthy over that any day. I have to mentally snap back to reality. It’s a struggle.

Yeah I’m gonna remember to listen to my stomach and not rush if not ready. 🙂On 07/06/2019 at 09:12, Lynnlovesthebeach said:
@Ren951 Also remember, just because the calendar says it's time to move on to the next phase doesn't mean your stomach is ready. You may have to stay in a phase longer than planned because your stomach is ultimately the boss!

I just started Protein Shakes in addition to clears and so far so good 🤞🏽 I think I’m having head hunger thus wanting “real food”. I’ve been on liquids for almost 3 weeks now counting pre-op. I didn’t cheat once pre-op so I intend on same post-op. I’m too scared of creating unnecessary complications. 😟

My doctor used a robot also. 🙂 I didn’t know that was a thing until I went to my first appointment with him. I’m on day 6 now post-op and just started Protein Drinks. So far my tummy hasn’t acted crazy. I start all other full liquids Tues 🤞🏽On 07/02/2019 at 21:32, amaynard said:
They used a robot which I guess has better outcomes for pain and people go home quicker usually -

Ok so I guess we all do have similar plans. I guess I’m just anxious to try new things. This first week has flown by already. I should count my blessings so far and stop whining. Lol 🤐 Thx for the replies! 🙂

I had my RNY surgery July 1st. First time I’m gonna sit out festivities for July 4th but I’m ok with it 🙂 I’m so glad I’m in recovery stage and so far so good! First day was really rough though.

I have 6 incisions too. I had two previous csections and that hiatal hernia to get fixed. Hopefully we heal nicely and won’t even be able to tell. 🤞🏽On 07/02/2019 at 19:17, amaynard said:
Finally awake enough... Dr said surgery couldn’t have been more perfect when he talked to my fiancé. I Haven’t seen him yet. Slept most of the day... lots of morphine PCA which is helpful. Just got up tonpee for the first time, wasn’t too awful. Because of my csections I had more scar tissue so he had to do a 6th incision. I had RNY. Keeping fluids down. Drank 2oz in the last hour.ARMoma45 and amaynard reacted to this -

Congratulation! Thats good to hear! I was wondering what the pain may be like the day after. It sounds like you're going to have a fast recovery.

I had my surgery yesterday 7/1 and I’m doing a lot better today. Yesterday I had horrendous gas pains in my upper shoulders and hurt to breathe a little. I had to get a hiatal hernia repaired that they found during surgery so I’m also sore from that. But all together I think I’m progressing pretty good. I had RNY.

I am 37, 5’4” and 238 lbs. I’m scheduled for July 1st! Have my final weigh in June 25th. I had to lose 10 lbs. After a few food funerals I’m almost there...gonna do two weeks of liquid diet to seal the deal.

Going to amusement park and not sweating about possibly not fitting in seat. Also not having to use “test” seat for rides which is embarrassing. I can’t wait! I have been turned away before when trying to buckle my seat belt. 😓
