    Lap Band Removal

Hello Pita4404, you are not alone at all! I had my lapband for 7 years and words can't describe how liberated and relieved I felt when I had it removed this past may and revised to sleeve in August. The last few months were horrible and I didn't have a slip! The bloating, the reflux, the plain discomfort of eating and slimming etc!!! I felt like I was in a life sentence! Especially when one pays for it out of pocket. You just feel like I bought this pain on myself and have to live with it...NO YOU DON'T! At one point it was no longer about weight loss, it was about survival. I can't believe how long I allowed the band to rule my life. All healthy foods didn't pass through and I had to subsist on unhealthy foods. You NEVER can predict what the band would allow on any given day! Arghhh, just thinking about it makes me very sad, it was truly like an abusive relationship! My life has been completely different since it's been out. I have control back. The sleeve is like a night/day difference. I can eat salads and fibers again. I feel so grateful being able to eat out without checking to see where the nearest restroom is. I feel healthy and "normal" again. TAKE IT OUT!!! And Congratulations in advance to a whole new existence[emoji176][emoji176][emoji176][emoji176][emoji176] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    🍂 Nov 2019 Challenge🍂

Day 9. Another clean day that I was very grateful for. Place that I've traveled that I'm most grateful for? First, I'm extremely grateful for my ability to travel to many incredible places. Reading and traveling is what makes my life pleasurable. My husband and I very early on decided we were going to educate our kids through travel and it has been great seeing other parts of the world with them. I'm most grateful for a couples trip I took with my brother and sis in law (my BFF) to Tahiti. Words can't describe how needed that trip was at the time. My BFF is also a physician, my brother is in a ridiculous high powered job that's even worse in stress and my hubs is an attorney. We got to that Island EMPTY!!!!!! We returned home full, renewed and in love with ourselves. I will be forever grateful for that trip. Gave me an actual measuring stick for when I need a break. B-Side Question: How has your S/O been handling all of the changes since WLS? My husband is the only person I told about my surgery and his daily support and care makes me fall in love with him daily. He's not changed towards me in any way and compliments my achievements. The best part is truly believing based on his actions, that he loves me regardless of my weight [emoji176][emoji176][emoji176][emoji176] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    🍂 Nov 2019 Challenge🍂

Day 8 Completed day 2 of clean eating after a VERY shaky start of this challenge. Craving sweets (my nemesis) has been minimal. Life lesson I am grateful for? Uhnmm?[emoji848][emoji848] I don't know why I always rely on cliches when I want to communicate my "deep" thoughts![emoji28] But life lesson is the power of Never Saying Never and NEVER work on someone else's time but mine as my time will come and it will be perfect for me. Many instances in my life when I have wondered if something was achievable and when I wait long enough and put effort, I achieve it at the right time for me. I'm grateful for these experiences as I'm significantly more self assured than I thought I could ever be[emoji176][emoji176][emoji176] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    🍂 Nov 2019 Challenge🍂

Day 7 As much as I intellectually know how much hormones matter in our lives, it's always astounding to me when confronted by it physically and emotionally! As soon as aunt Flo came, ALL cravings DIED off!!!!! Like it never happened [emoji50][emoji50][emoji50] 2 absolutely clean days without any angst, desires or cravings. All my usual vices paraded in front of me without an eyelash bat!! I didn't even see the goodies talk more of putting them in my mouth!! So glad to know I don't have that much of a rebellious self sabotaging streak!!![emoji119][emoji119][emoji119] very grateful for that!! Books I'm grateful for? Not even humanly possible to choose. I epitomize a serious bookworm and can't imagine life without books!! I'll still say though that because of the age and time I read "To kill a mockingbird " it had profound lifelong effects on me!! Day 8 just began so I'll be back [emoji176][emoji176][emoji176] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    What are you eating?

Hello Bianca[emoji112][emoji112], I'm following because I am in the exact same boat!! It's chicken and yoghurt EVERYDAY! Cottage cheese used to be high up there too but getting tired of it. -Yoghurt in the mornings -Whatever meat and veggies are served at work for lunch. -chicken and veggies for dinner Yoghurt or cottage cheese for snacks. Occasional nuts but that's a HUGE slider for me so I stopped the nuts recently. RINSE and REPEAT [emoji25][emoji28] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    🍂 Nov 2019 Challenge🍂

Day 6 Today was a relatively good day. I did have a forkful of cake at work while celebrating a colleague. In the past, it would have been several slices...possibly a full tier of the cake if I'm able to get away with it🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ so I consider it a victory. Everything else was squeaky clean [emoji108][emoji119] Gratitude: I'm in awe of nature. It reminds me how tiny I am in the general scheme of the universe! Nature is beautiful and healing and humbling and amazing. Like others have mentioned, any body of water inspires me. Water is life, even the sounds of water is soothing. I'm sharing some pictures of the ocean I took this past summer. Also found one that combines the mountains, the sky and the ocean depicts the trifecta of nature for me.[emoji176][emoji176][emoji176][emoji176] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    🍂 Nov 2019 Challenge🍂

Day 5. I almost made it through the day without cheating. By 7pm I was celebrating being home free [emoji126][emoji126] .....until my husband came back home from CVS with Lindt white chocolate with coconut 🤨🤨🤨. I broke off 3 squares and stuffed my mouth before I gave myself the opportunity to think[emoji57]. Other than that lapse in judgment, it was a "perfect" (very tongue in cheek [emoji6]) day of sticking to plan with water and macros! I'm sincerely trying to be introspective about how this challenge is highlighting a part of my personality that probably lays dormant somewhere [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848]. I have basically stuck to plan for the most part since my surgery. I would go off plan like 2x a month but it was planned and deliberate. Since signing up for the challenge, I've not quite made it through a day![emoji28] It's a reckoning I'm very happy to pin down because I will be working on it head wise but it's just very interesting.. Item in my home I'm grateful for: uhmm [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848] . I'll have to say my bed! At the end of the day when I get in bed, it's purely for sleep and my bed feels like a sanctuary. Who/what irritates me the most? Impolite kids!! Honestly, entitled kids IRK me to no end!!!! I work with kids so when I come across rude, disrespectful and ill-mannered kids.... gets me ALL the time, consider buttons pushed!![emoji37][emoji37] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    🍂 Nov 2019 Challenge🍂

Love it!! Thanks for that!! I did stay on the straight and Narrow today. Narrowly dodging a bundt cake a lovely nurse brought me at work Temptation has never been so strong but I ignored it and brought it home to kids who summarily ignored it as well and I finally gave away to handyman.....after I had a tiny slice[emoji85][emoji85] All I can say is, it's got to be "that" time of the month!!![emoji57] Still was within my caloric allowance in Bariastatic so I'll just keep working on this rearing of the ugly head of sweets. Memory I'm most grateful for: Too numerous to count but I'll say I get these flashes of my childhood with my incredible parents and siblings as I watch my own kids grow and my heart just gets warm and I even get goosebumps!! Like Karen mentioned, I had/have incredible parents and memories of their warmth is what I'm always grateful for and try to emulate [emoji176]🧡 Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Day 3: Sigh[emoji21][emoji21][emoji29][emoji29][emoji25][emoji25] I had half a cookie today! I've hardly cheated since my journey started in August. It's a bit disconcerting that I've done so in 2 days of 3 days that this challenge began! Not sure what's going on but I can't wait for the weekend to be over so I can get back into a routine of my preplanned meals!! Food I'm thankful for: YOGHURT!!!! I have some version daily! Brussels sprouts and chicken are also high up there! Presurgery: it would have been red velvet cake!! I'm definitely positive towards myself! I cut myself a lot of slack to a point. Parents!!! Their mixed messaging can be confounding!🤪🤪 I would let it go in one ear and out the other and continue what I'm doing like I didn't hear a thing otherwise they could drive you crazy without intending too!! The mixed messages is lifelong and not subject to change now! So brush it off! You are doing AMAZING! That's so so unfortunate for your so called friends@Sheribear68! It's quite scary how people can feel threatened by others fortunes! I don't quite get it.....but as difficult as it is to do as we get older, I think it's time for new friends that will enjoy, encourage and be inspired by your awesomeness!! Day 2: I am most grateful for my phone!! I try to imagine a world without my phone and it's impossible to recall how things got done without it! I definitely know my ABJECT reliance on my phone is GOOD and BAD! I went to the movies with kids yesterday and although popcorn is not on the list, I think I might have overindulged [emoji57][emoji57][emoji21] . I had to physically go sit at a different row to stop, my kids found it hilarious! I don't want to entertain the idea of cheating and I hope that's the end of that for the week. It's funny, I'm noticing the chocolates left out at work and I wondered if I'm now more conscious of it because of this challenge [emoji848][emoji848][emoji848][emoji848] or if I've gotten to the stage where I want it?? I'm not sure if the fact that I committed to eating cleanly has woken my rebellious monster to do the opposite?? The mind for self sabotage is a powerful thing! I hope I break that spirit SPEEDILY [emoji26] Tea: Only my hubby knows about my surgery, everyone family included think I've gone on a health kick (which I've been known to do) and have been very complimentary as I lose. I've sincerely yet to experience any negative comments or feedbacks. .... to my face anyway. Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

Day 1 1. Posting your personal goal Goal is to continue to stay focused on my journey and not get derailed on what I'm able to eat or drink. A deep seated goal is to make it to the mid to low 170s in weight. 2. Add your surgery type, status (pre/post op, losing/maintenance) Post sleeve 8/16/19 3. Weight and BMI (not necessary but encouraged) SW: 214lbs CW: 179.8lbs BMI: 31.9 4. Tell us what you are grateful according to the day: I am so grateful for life, love and laughter!! A bit cliche I know! But I've survived without a much needed nanny for a few weeks now and finally interviewed someone I pray works out. My husband and kids stepped up and we made it work through laughter and love!! Very very grateful for that!! Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
