I hope to stay focused but family is going on a vacation in 2 weeks to Mexico and then a cruise to the Bahamas first week of August [emoji25] Trying not to freak my surgeon out with any massive gains right before surgery!! Welcome AnnieD78!!! We all know exactly how you feel!! It's tough to wrap your head around something so life-changing!! But, being on this forum and reading people's experiences and their journey is such a boost!!! I can honestly say that seeing their physical, emotional and even occasional spiritual transformations has helped me combat my anxiety especially the anxiety of going through ALL these and failing!!! [emoji25] What I have learned from the inspiring people here is that failure won't be an option when you follow all the directions given to work the tool of wls, work on believing you won't fail this time, be deeply open to exploring your relationship with food and combating old patterns. When/if we do this, that success will surely be ours! The low risk of the surgery versus the high benefits of weight loss and change definitely makes this a no brainer and that's why you have spent the energy needed to come this far. Having said that, I did have my own funerals like no man's business and Concluded July 1st. I needed that so I can come to peace with the eventual break up from "my habits"[emoji28][emoji28]. It's been only 4 days but I'm truly at peace, even calmer. Working on my head game (for me this is truly more important than food!). I have to come to terms with the possibility of not being morbidly obese. That for me is the true mind f@@k and the rooted cause self sabotage in the past!!!! NOT AGAIN!! There's a thread on here about working on your head for wls that was started by FluffyChix that I would recommend. I'm not very savvy with this site yet to post it but I hope you find it as helpful and beneficial like I have. Take care and our turn will come soon. Sending positive vibes your way. Wow!! So impressed by your ability to staying so strong about what others would consider incredible odds!!! More power to you!! I bet you will be so much more successful this time around given your experience and positivity! I don't have GERD, I get heartburns occasionally depending on the type of food I eat. I'm borderline diabetic and my surgeon recommends the Sleeve so I'm going with it for now but making sure I do all my research for what's best for me. I endured 7 yrs of the lapband until I couldn't anymore. I'm hoping like you to use that experience to propel me to success with this surgery🤞🤞. I'm desperately doing as much head work I can do prior to surgery as this is most likely my worst issue. I've just seen so many revision stories (Sleeve to RNY) that it makes one pause and have second thoughts. But I've also seen such phenomenal sleeve success stories, I'm hoping to be one. I know what you mean!! Concluded ALL food funerals June 30th! July 1st was my birthday and I started the day making it to a 5am spin class (not been since Feb[emoji57]), are the cleanest way possible (had a slice of birthday cake) and logged in 20K steps. Plan to keep it up till surgery day (🤞🤞). Hello there, I'm thinking everyone's degree of inflammation is different. When some people get an injury, they swell at that site so badly that sometimes the inflammation is worse than the actual insult/injury and others, not as much. So depending on the amount of inflammation on the sleeved tummy, there's narrowing for some people and there's isn't an ease of passage of any type of food. Because others didn't swell, they seem to have an easier time eating during the immediate post OP. Hence the phrase "everyone is different". Has nothing to do with stretching, surgery, surgeon etc. Doesn't predict outcomes etc etc. Think of it like an allergic reaction, some people's immune system come our swinging and the swelling is scary!
