Day 19. I've heard people say they forget to eat and it has been such a foreign concept for me until this trip. I get so immersed in the activities plan that I literally forget about food!! (In the past, the reason vacations were pleasurable was SOLELY for the food!!![emoji3]). That being said, when I do eat, it's been not so clean. We were at an Indian restaurant and at the end, I couldn't resist saffron rice but could only have 4 bites and had that COMPLETELY stuffed feeling and it was over.... Splurge Item: After 15 years of marriage, my husband upgraded my wedding and engagement rings this fall. They are both exquisite and beyond measure a splurge that if I'd known beforehand could not justify. BUT, I'm extremely grateful for and LOVE it.[emoji176][emoji176][emoji176] B-Side Question: Does Thanksgiving/Banquets make you nervous now? This will be my first Thanksgiving and we'll be traveling out of town for it and while I know it will be semi stressful because I won't be on my own turf and my sister in law is probably one of the best cooks I know, I'm not worried about the food part at all. Day 18. Was having a fantastically clean day until we entered a Dates shop!! Omg! Went to town with all the variety of gourmet dates the shop had for just tasting! I'm truly grateful I didn't have a mini dumping episode that I've been prone to have when I eat sweets!🥴🥴 What traits am I grateful to have? I was going to say sense of humor but truly the feedback I have gotten over the course of my life is my ability to empathize deeply and immediately connect to the heart of an issue. Day 17. Doing well in staying within my caloric expectations but some food choices have been questionable only because I am on vacation. Mid month check in: I'm so fearful of even acknowledging my clothing size because I think it's a mirage and will disappear as soon as acknowledged. It is pretty scarily amazing that since 3 months out of surgery (yesterday was the official date) I'm wearing: Size 10 Express Jeans non stretch!!!![emoji15][emoji15][emoji15][emoji15][emoji15][emoji15] I would not have been shocked if it was Old Navy size 10s but Express is ridiculous for their size chart! I went in the store (not been inside since late 20's....a little over 10yrs ago) because I thought that ship has sailed. I tried on the 12s and it was loose, then the 10 fit perfectly without being tight at all. I also got a medium blouse that I rocked at my desert safari excursion yesterday and family members were exclaiming over the pictures!!!!![emoji114][emoji114][emoji114][emoji114][emoji114] I'm only acknowledging it out loud on this thread because this journey has been amazing and so rewarding that after reading other people's experiences and doubting it can be me, and now that it's me, I'm SHOOK!!!!!!! Please for anyone doubting, just know I was there less than 14 weeks ago!! Like SERIOUSLY doubting but trusting what the people who have gone before me said, YOUR TIME WILL COME! Be diligent and do YOU! What am I most grateful for about my job? The fact that I can't do something else! The fact that it does not feel like a job when I do not think about the bureaucracy. The fact that it puts food on the table and clothes on my back. The fact that it's rewarding even when it's thankless. Day 15 Not so clean day but trying to stay within plan. What about my body am I most grateful for? My body's resilience!!! Day 14 Not a clean day at all! Between the airline food and getting to resort, I've not felt as in control of what I put in my mouth only because I am not home. I've tried to stay on plan though not as good as I would like 🤷‍♀️ Rejection most grateful for? I honestly can't think of one[emoji848] Could be jetlag? Maybe my first job interview, it was after undergrad and between med school. I interviewed for a job that would have probably sucked the life out of me and I was never more relieved that they rejected me (hindsight is 20/20). At the time I was very sad because I needed to save some money for school BUT I got a better option later. Honestly!!! I so so appreciate this thread and all the pictures. It's truly inspiring! BUT, Sophie's smiles do something for the soul!! Day 13: So far so good. Ignored all concession stands at the airport. Clean day so far. Favorite season: By far fall though I am a summer baby. Don't have the 4 seasons here in AZ but we get to go up North and it's the most beautiful sight to behold!! Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas all packed in 1 season! Day 10. Relatively clean day! It was the weekend so I may have had some of my kids' Girls Scout candied nuts inadvertently [emoji57][emoji6] What am I grateful for in my childhood? Simply put, my childhood! I'm extremely grateful for having the opportunity to have a childhood with amazingly caring parents that selflessly guarded my innocence with good values and ethics. And having siblings who despite "sibling rivalry" love me unconditionally and I can rely on them to care for my interests the way they would theirs.
