    August 2019 Check In

Congratulations!! I'm 15 days post OP and I assure you, you will start to feel more energy as you eat more. I also had to resort to MOM 1 week post OP and it took a couple of days for all poop to be out and I have been regular after that (I've never had problems with constipation). I was slightly dehydrated after the MOM event but I just made sure I rehydrate A LOT (never been a Water drinker pre op.....actually loathe to drink it) via HINT water and felt much better a few days afterwards. My program went straight to food by a week post OP and eating soft food (refried Beans, cottage cheese, softly cooked fish and chicken) gave me more energy and I've been at 500 cals or almost 600 cals on a good day (don't get there often) and this helps with energy. You should be feeling better in 2 weeks in time for the new job. Get the Proteins and water in and never mind anything else for now. Get a few walks in if you are up to it, slowly build up. It helps with the constipation as well!!!! Cheers to us getting in groove with this new life!![emoji112][emoji112]🧡[emoji169]

Good morning! Day 3: I just scheduled our fall break vacation and it's a place my kids have been begging to go to so they will be over the moon! Vacation with kids and fun??[emoji848][emoji848] uhm... on the other hand, booked a weekend girls trip to Las Vegas with a very close friend for middle of this month. That should be fun!![emoji108][emoji106] Exercise: 30 squats [emoji25][emoji25][emoji25][emoji25][emoji25][emoji25] OMG!!!! I should have picked Easy!!! My God!!! My buns BURNS!!!![emoji26][emoji26][emoji27] B sided question: Honestly, my skin is glowing!! It's more dramatic than the shrinking jowls!! I stared at my reflection every morning wondering what's going on, so it's the water?? Good to know! My niece (who is the family/ resident MUA) "wished" she had my skin🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨. Have a fantastic day team [emoji169]🧡 Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    August 2019 Check In

I'm so sorry to hear that. Have you tried water infused with fruits like HINT or making yours? I find that it goes down easier. Also walking and drinking goes down easier for me so I hold a bottled water while pacing around my house and sip and walk until water is gone. It's hard initially but starts to get better. Hydration is a MUST so I just DO IT like Nike [emoji5] Good luck and I hope you feel better soon. IV at home is a bummer [emoji17] Cheers and keep your chin up [emoji169]🧡 Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  10. KarenLR75, love your attitude!!!![emoji122][emoji122][emoji122][emoji122] Life will not be interesting if we were all the same! As frustrating as it is everyone's journey is different! I'm so glad you got your groove [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106] It's a marathon not a sprint! I like the fact that you mentioned you will refrain from daily weigh ins! I think it helps. 💜 SEP 2019 CHALLENGE 💜

Squats done. Side B question: Love or loathe exercise? I like spin class A LOT! I miss it now as I heal from recent surgery. After a while, cycling becomes important for my mental health. It is the one area where I'm not someone's mom, wife, daughter, sister, Doctor etc. I'm just in my zone with some camaraderie with fellow spinners. Do I love all other exercises? No. I detest muscle class but I'll make myself like it as I return to the gym and just maybe it becomes tolerable. I've read enough on this forum to know it helps a lot. I can tolerate the treadmill, stair steppers, rowing but I don't LOVE them. Not sure if I'm making any sense 🤷‍♀️[emoji53] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    September 2019 🍂🍁

Don't be worried. I didn't have any pre OP diet and I did fine. Surgery went well and had no complications. My surgeon has not found any improved outcomes with or without the pre OP "liver shrinking" diet. To each it's own. 🧡[emoji169] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. Yes, my water goes down easier now with no restrictions! If anyone had told me that would be possible 1 week post OP, I would have argued! You feel the restriction more on solids so don't worry, you had surgery and you have a tool. Can't finish 1/2 cup of food without stopping in the middle and finishing hours later. Cheers 🧡[emoji176] Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Hungry after gastric sleeve?

After a lifetime of being able to eat when and how we want. Being able to fill any hungry cues both head and real hunger, you can bet your bottom dollars we will be hungry!!!!! Either hunger from habits, pleasures, pain, stomach etc, and it takes our minds and bodies a while to adjust to the new normal but it will adjust! So hang in there my friends, we will retain our body to work healthily for us. It is not an easy process AT ALL but we'll prevail. By the time we start eating regularly again (of course in small quantities), those hunger cues will be practically non existent and hence the lack of hunger people talk about. Hang in there [emoji176][emoji176][emoji176][emoji176] PS: Just spent the weekend assisting kids and Skinny sis in law in making Harry Potter's butter beer and Fudge!![emoji37][emoji37][emoji37][emoji37][emoji37] Not fun!!! Didn't even taste a sliver!![emoji17][emoji17][emoji31][emoji31] But I was EVER so proud of myself[emoji169]🧡 Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

  24. I try my best to keep carbs at below 20 grams. I'm typically at 15 grams net carbs of an approximately 500 cals daily. Fat is negligible for me. It's typically fat in Yogurt, cottage cheese, ricotta or my tablespoon of Olive oil. My plan says Dense proteins in fish, chicken, Turkey, canned Tuna, Tofu or eggs. And cooked green veggies OR soft fruits ( Berries except black berries, melon, Apple with skin off, fresh or canned with no syrup). All in 1/2 cup. For every 3 bites of protein, 1 bite of veggies. No starch, grains or sugar. So 60 grams to 80 grams proteins 15 to 20 grams carbs 10 to 15 grams fat Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Weight Fluctuation

One thing I have chosen to do is weighing weekly initially to take away these fluctuation angst and when close to goal, weigh more frequently to get prepared for maintenance. I've read enough on this forum to be aware how crazy making the scale can get. I hope the veterans are able to calm your mind. Thanks as always for your insight orchids and dragon 🧡🧡🧡 Sent from my SM-N960U using BariatricPal mobile app
