For VG 10 cc Bandsters ONLY

4cc or 10cc which is best?
I have also read this to be true. Also, if you have the larger band, I understand that it DOES take longer to reach your 'sweet spot'. I am not sure but I may have read somewhere that it took until about 6.0-7.cc s to get good restriction. Redgirl there is a good thread somewhere with people posting their fill amounts. I'll see if I can link it for you. But ya, it could be confusing and frustrating if you don't know your fill amount.

First plateau...
Do NOT get discouraged. Positive changes will come. It takes time. It sucks but true. Keep working out hard, keep clean with your food and you will reap the benefits.

Calling all at or near goal - how is your skin?
Proudly 44 years old. Lost almost 95 pounds, have about 13 more to go. My skin is fine, or at least it is acceptable everywhere except my lower abdomen. But most of that is due to the 3 pregnancies and stretch marks. Will probably have a TT.

You've lost enough weight...
I dressed fat. I ate little. No comments, THANK YOU MIL! No drama. I love that. Perhaps she has accepted the fact.

50% weight loss
Hmmm, I think they mean most people will lose 50% of the weight they were suspose to lose to be at their healthy goal weight. So for eg. If a person had 100 pounds to lose to get into a healthy BMI, they would lost 50% of their weight, which would be 50 pounds. There is a statistic out there that banded people lose on average of 50-60% of their weight. MANY, many of us have easily surpassed that. If my algebra is correct. I have lost about 92% of my excess weight.

You've lost enough weight...
HAHAHAAH and BTW, speaking of the 80's. My 13 year old dressed UP like the 80's for Halloween, like that is dressworthy or semething. She wore MY old clothes and made her hair big, which for me is normal, but for her is hilarious. Then she came downstairs and said. "Mom, Franky says RELAX!" That cracked me up.

How much longer will you live? (Banded)
Great question. I too, do not know if the band will lengthen my life, but I can sure tell you that it has ALREADY and GREATLY improved my present life. I also feel as though I may have dodged a few things, diabetes for one.

Goodbye, it's been a slice, but I hope I never see you again....

Breath!!!!!!!!
Oh boy, do I remember those feelings well! They are scary, but ultimately exciting aren't they? You will get through this and in a year be so very grateful you went through with it. Cheers and hugs. Teachers Rock!:clap2:

Halloween Candy
I have a load of left over chocolate bars. Not as many kids came this year. I will either freeze it, or take it to the Gospel Mission, or THROW IT AWAY, BECAUSE EVEN MY HEALTHY WEIGHT KIDS DON'T NEED IT. But I VOW not to eat it as I have many times before.

IT'S ABOUT TIME! Man, you were the worst so far, but clean living, the gym and a small fill, says GOODBYE to the 190s. Hello to my new friends the 80's.... I can see it now, shoulder pads, big hair............. Frankie says Relax.....lolol! Now, I look forward to my LIFETIME friends, the 70's. Those are the friends I want to make for a lifetime...... 13 pounds from goal.....rock on everyone.:clap2:

most ignorant reply
I have a fiber tip for you from Dr Ox (love that guy). I drink Protein shakes for Breakfast with a couple of Tbsp of Psyllium Husk in it. I buy it at the health food store in bulk, very cheap and an easy way to add fiber. I also add a couple of Tbsp of Flax Seed Oil. It keeps things moving. Cheers

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Then I will continue to quote you my dear Wendell Edwards.:clap2:

Mastication
It's great you are able to post about it. As Dr Phil says, 'You can't change what you don't acknowledge.' I think many of us are like this, I am. Sometimes it is our way of reacting to stress, habit, a search for that seratonin rush, or whatever pleasurable centers it triggers in the brain. Ways to combat it? We've heard them all before, but the best is.... Keep house clean of 'binge' foods. Be kind to yourself. Hugs

JulieNYC's Lateral Thigh Lift and Brachioplasty
Well, having a few surgeries myself, I can understand your point. I am on your side on this one. I hope you win.... Hugs, can't be easy that your surgeon is also your dad.

What is your current fill in your 4cc band?
Boy, not only is every person different with their fills, each FILL is different. Fill before last, 3.0, felt LOOSER the week I got it. I paniced and thought my dear doctor must have missed his mark. Then it tightened up 2 weeks later. That fill was good for 25 pounds. This particular fill, 3.2, tightened up right away and now a week out, it's loosening up. I just want to be witness to the fact that this is an unpredictable fill cycle. But I am not complaining. This band has brought me within 13 pounds of goal. I feel as though I will easily attain this goal in the next few months. Then I will be trying to find just the right fill to maintain this amazing loss. How is everyone else doing?

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
I'd like this to be a sticky. I refer to this post often Wendell. Can you tell me the source. I have tried to find it but can't. Thanks in advance. Paula

You've lost enough weight...
............and BTW, congratulate me, I broke into the 80's over the weekend, still there as of this morning, so I am calling it. I haven't been in the 80, SINCE the 80s. So I know you all will be happy for me. :bounce: 13

You've lost enough weight...
EXACTLY, it is starting to make me mad, but as Eddie said, WE will get the last laugh. I despise lying, but the next time someone says, you aren't going to lose any more are you? I am going to say, "I am pretty much done." Change subjects. But you know my MIL is the only one really bothering me at the moment. I purposefully do not make many mommy friends at the school where my 3 kids go. My real friends are behind me 100%. A sign of a true friend. I guess when you/we are the 'fat girl'. It becomes uncomfortable for some when we lose and get near our healthy BMI. It is a really interesting phenomenon isn't it? No one would want us to ALMOST quit smoking, or ALMOST kick a drug habit, or ALMOST get cured from cancer just so THEY can continue to feel superior. Interesting, verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry interesting.

Countdown to goal.....
Wow Kim, I didn't know your stats before, you deserve a great big hug. What an inspiration you are! It just amazes me that I am only 13 pounds overweight. Even when part of me doesn't believe I will ever make goal, somewhere in the back of my brain, I know it will happen, if I make it. Cheers to all of us. My last fill really helped things move along. I think this will be it for me.
