  1. I can eat just about anything. I do not eat bread, rice, potatos. I can eat them in small amounts, but I chose not to. Have never had a problem with beef, or any Proteins for that matter. Sometimes dry meats are harder to take than at other times, but no problem overall. Never had a problem with popcorn, but don't eat it much. Love nuts, eat them daily. Raw, unsalted chashews. Don't eat candy, but I would be leary of licorice or anything gummy, that when swallowed may get stuck. That is just me, we are all different. You should be able to enjoy these items.
  2. Well OK, I confess, I don't hate all shopping. I LOVE shopping for new clothes at 3 pounds from goal.:clap2::clap2:
  3. I hate shopping, I hate buying gifts. I think we should cancel the 'gift-giving' crap. But my kids won't go for it .............................. yet. lolol! I am trying to talk them into a cruise next year in leau of gifts.:clap2::clap2:
  4. Wow, never saw the pictures til just now. It's like 'What Not To Wear' Look how much smaller they make you look. Love the dark wash. Excellent!!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: Oh hey Rainer, I am just shy of 6ft... I can't believe your inseam is good. I shop at the Tall Girl Shop for 36" inseams.
  5. Excellent post Wheetsin! I am an overeater. But I have to say that if preband my desire to overeat was a 10/10, 16 months later it is maybe a 4/10. I have spent those months looking for other ways to replace my addiction. This is a learning process and it will take time to undo or redo or relearn our bad habits. I know I have to keep my house 'clean' of unhealthy foods. If it isn't there, I won't eat it. I have joined a gym and am TRYING to be addicted to exercise. Not addicted yet, but physically ache if I don't go. Be kind to yourself and work on learning some new tricks. Replace an old 'bad' habit with some 'new' healthy ones. Because I can attest to the fact that, life is wonderful 100+ pounds lighter.
  6. Good point. It almost seems to me that people STILL equate a bit of weight with good health. But really it's the opposite. Extra weight = added health problems. For now, I just refuse to talk about it with my MIL, she's really the only one who is 'worried' about me. I just do my thing. I had blood tests done and I am perfectly healthy and I point that out to her. I also point out that I am 1000% more healthy than 100 pounds ago.
  7. I live in smallish town British Columbia, Canada. I am about 5 hours from Vancouver. In Vancouver, there are some awesome surgeons, but I wanted something closer to home. The other surgeons in his office do not have a wait that long, but I want this guy.
  8. I did my research and finally chose a PS. I gasped at his fine work online. Nice low TT scars, straight, nice work. I was impressed enough to phone. First consult date----------Oct 1, 2008 ---- This is where I faint. :faint: Surgery date within 3 months of consult. But I can wait, this gives me time to lose my last 3 pounds and to get into the best physical shape possible. It also gives my skin time to adjust since I read somewhere that skin can take up to a year to shrink after weight loss. But I am doing the happy dance.
  9. See, I am so excited, I even posted this on the wrong forum. Headed to the PS Forum.
  10. Man, that doesn't even call for a countdown.....
  11. I did my research and finally phoned my PS of choice. Seems to be one of the best in my area. I gasped at the nice scar lines on his website. First consult date available, Oct 1, 2008:faint: Surgery within 3 months after that. But I am OK with that. I have a lot of time to prepare myself, lose my last 3 pounds and get into the best physical shape possible.
  12. Awesome, looking forward to hearing about your progress.
  13. I know of what you speak. I went from 'could'a been a nun' to 'Got my Sexy Back'. I read somewhere that not only is it the benefit of feeling better slimmer, but there are actually hormones releases in the fat stores that increase our sexual desire. Can't remember where I read it, but I believe it. This can't all be in my mind.
  14. Hopefully the fluro fill will get you to the exact right amount Colleen, that would be frustrating.
  15. I like your idea of the vest thing. It looks more comfortable to me. The other one looks well, just hard.....lol! Congratulations and thanks for the link. I see something I might like if and when I get my TT.
  16. Approximately 9 weeks since your TT. I am curious to know how you are feeling and if you are back to your normal daily activities? Thanks in advance. :giggle: I just phoned my local ps and am waiting for a consult date. Thank you for being one of my inspirations.....
  17. Hey, Julie, how are you feeling? I think you are almost 5 weeks out now? Have your incisions healed over? just phoned my local ps for a consult today. I am waiting for a consult date. :giggle:
  18. Sounds appropriate since you are a runner. I'd like that too, just a bit of a filler up.
  19. Oh btw, what kind of boobs are 'we' getting?
  20. I don't even know what to say. You must be so stinking, fricken excited at the new you. I just kissed you on the screen....lololol! You gorgeous thing you......
  21. Thanks my dear. And it is YOU who taught me this. Being almost my height. I really am not a big boned gal. Yes, I did look OK at 200, I look great at 178, but as I get lower, each pound really makes a HUGE difference in tweaking things. hugs my dear fellow Tall Girl.
  22. Perhaps part of this 'phenomenon' is that the band makes this all possible. At Weight Watchers this may have been about as far as I could have previously gone, 24.4 BMI, but with the band, I know I can aim for the middle of the BMI or even lower. 175 for me is the heaviest weight in the 'normal weight' range for BMI. But if I want, I can aim for lower. The band makes this all possible and for that, I am eternally grateful. Paulax, 3 pounds from goal, but with a bit of tummy fat yet to get rid of.
  23. Julie, you are not gaunt. Gorgeous yes, gaunt no. Goal will be ours, my dear twin. Recently, my dh told me I could gain a little back. HA! Not happening. I told him I weight more than your average MAN. That I will get to goal, and that goal for me is 175.... Yes, my dear, goal WILL be ours.
  24. Right on Jazlady! It seems actually possible with the band doesn't it?
