    Reached your personal goal???

Goal, goal, goal, goal, goal............:biggrin::eek: GOAL! As of this morning, I have hit goal. I weigh 174 pounds. At my height, that puts me at a BMI of 24.4. I lost about 105 pounds in 18 months. I exercise regularly. My fill remains at 3.2. I feel excited about the next year, I feel at peace with myself.

    Countdown to goal.....

Thanks everyone! It's funny, that last 2 pounds just hung in there for WEEKS. I had almost given up and my friends from my lowcarb site were telling me to just call goal already....lol..... I didn't really change anything, I guess my body just decided to release it and let it go. Also, I honestly didn't think I'd feel any different than 2 pounds ago, but I did really feel good yesterday. I felt DONE. Done losing, but not done maintaining. That has always been the hard part, hasn't it? Keeping it off. I tried to eat a bit more yesterday, but I think I will probably keep losing until I get a slight unfill. But I am happy to keep my fill where it is. I certainly have more fat on my body to lose, but I am going to try to increase my calories a bit. My daughter and I are in our 3rd week of a learn to run program, so unless, I increase my calories, I will probably keep losing. NOT THAT IT WOULD BE A PROBLEM. But ya, maintenance will be interesting.

    You've lost enough weight...

Rereading this thread as my MIL just phoned last night to say goodbye. MIL and FIL are travelling South for 3 months. Yadda, have a good trip, talked to the kids, yadda, yadda, yadda. What is the last thing she says to me? "Now, you aren't going to lose any more weight are you, because FIL and I like you just like you are and don't want you getting sick.":mad::biggrin::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: WTF? I am saying goodbye for 3 months and she is thinking about my WEIGHT????:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: UNREAL! They are Danish, I am still WAY fatter than any of their skinny relatives in Denmark......I give up. I just give up. I am in my 2nd week of a Learn to Run 10K program with my daughter. I will either be thinner or look thinner in 3 months. This reminds me of my dear old grandmother from Italy, long gone, but when I was in my late teens my weight fluctuated. When I was fat, she would look at me with cataracts in her eyes and say in her thick Italian accent. "You too skinny!" And when I had lost weight, she'd say, "You too fat!" We'd just laugh. BTW, I'd also like to report that EVERY SINGLE test my doctor ran on my blood work was excellent. I was worried about my Iron levels, because I have been feeling lethargic at times. It is ABOVE normal levels. Normal 70, mine was 80, or something like that. I am healthier, I am stronger, I am spunkier than ever before.
  6. Absolutely, I will declare goal at 175, but I can see that I could easily take off another 5-10 pounds of fat. It is easier to 'see' the extra weight when you are so close to goal. That is my experience anyway. Cheers, you are doing so well.

    That final push

    Awesome Manatee! Who Hoo!
  8. These stories make me sad. But it reinforces the truth that doctors are just people. Some have tact, some don't. I had a PSYCHOLOGIST that I was taking a course from, race ahead of me to the door of a grocery store while he said out loud, "I thought I had better get in here first before before you take it all..." OR something to that fact. I was so shocked, I was speachless. My third child was a C-section, as was my second. The anasthesiologist couldn't get the epidural into my spine. He poked me for 30 minutes plus, the nurses were whispering into my ear to ask for another doctor. He asked me if I had gained more weight with this child. I felt like saying that even if I did, it didn't all go to MY SPINE.....A second anasthesiologist was called in to do the epidural and he got it on the first try. Yep, doctors aren't all blessed with reason and tact.

    Questions for the Dr....

Thank you for responding. I appreciate knowing the details. I used the silicone sheeting on my breasts, I think it worked on all but two areas at my side. But the laser therapy is news to me. I will ask about that when I go for my consult in October. Because for people who scar like me, we have to weigh the benefits. Saggy skin - huge ugly scar...... It also makes me sad that I will probably have to give up on any idea of face work in the future, until someone invents a skin-shrinking-no-scar laser machine.
  10. I was vomiting before Christmas and yes it is disturbing. There was nothing in my pouch and whatever the stomach was trying to reject, just did not come up. So the heaving was just for not. But as Dibaby said, the body just takes over and there is nothing we can do. I DID however, find it helpful to drink hot Water. It seemed to sooth things down. I hope your symptoms go away quickly. Hugs

    Questions for the Dr....

What if anything can be done at the time of surgery for skin that tends to form hyprotropic scares? OR Is this something that is dealt with post surgery with injections? Honestly, I have no idea, but we hear of surgeons who are specialists dealing with hypertrophic scaring or true keloid patients. Thanks in advance. I have hypertrophic scaring from my breast reduction 3 years ago and one of my band incisions is still red and rope like, 2 years out. I am considering a tummy tuck.

    Couch to 5K

Well, I just started the 10K Learn to Run program through SportMed. Yesterday was my first training session. 34 minutes of walk/run. I feel good so far. In 13 weeks, I will be running (ie:jogging slowly) the Vancouver Sun Run, with my 13 year old daughter who is training with me.:wink2:
  13. I started losing right after surgery, but that is because my surgeon required a 30 day clear liquid fast. I also started 'really losing' when I hired a personal trainer. I only really lose when I put my mind to it, eat clean, and exercise my buns off. 2 pounds from goal.
  14. That's great. I don't notice that my groceries are much less as I have a husband and 3 growing kids, but I DO notice a LOT MORE left overs.:wink2:
  15. Whoo weee. I am 2 pounds from goal, so have been splurging on some much needed new clothes, nothing fancy, just the essentials for a SAHM. I was careful not to spend too much money on the way down the scale, but know each and every penny I did spend was really a waste. Because I didn't wear it for long. Now at goal (almost)......wow! All I can say is save your money folks.
  16. Come on, don't make me suffer alone. I am at this moment updating my IPOD so I can go to my gym, for the first time since December. So who is going to exercise with me? report here.
  17. I am having some of the same issues, with only 2 more pounds to lose. ha, I really should declare that I have 10 more to lose, then I might try harder. But, this too shall pass and you and I will declare goal, and then we can declare a triumph and focus our energies on something else healthy and worthwhile. hugs my dear. looking forward to MY TT late 08 or early 09.
  18. Ghost, I am a memeber of breasthealthonline, I have access to many TT pictures and I have to say, YOURS is one of the most transformational TTs I've seen. Your surgeon must be awesome. You look fantastic.
  19. Glad you got that sorted out. Boy, you are close hey! Good for you.

extremely tight - months after fill

I feel a tightening at least 2 weeks after a fill. Especially now that I am at the upper limits of fills in my 4.0 band. I am at 3.2. Things that make me tighter: stress when I am nervous PMS the car (for some strange reason) travel (for some reason) altitude changes certain foods Basically, lots of things that I have noticed and taken notice of. Some people say our bands have a mind of their own. I am thinking they are right. When I am feeling miserable (as you described), and that is very seldom, I drink some hot Water and take it easy.
