  1. Hey, you are funny as hell. I HEAR YA, but I am here to give you a hug and tell you that this too shall pass, and you will soon be losing weight and feeling awesome!
  2. At this point in my weight loss, if I don't exercise, I do not lose. I hate the gym too, but I do feel the benefits of adrenalin rushes.

    B.C. Bandsters..

bcbandits : BC Bandits Ang, above is a yahoo group I joined before my surgery. You have to be a patient or future patient of Leung to join, but it was good for me to have contact with other Leung patients. It is a very quiet group of late, which is why I joined lapband.com, but still it was nice to compare notes, so to speak.

    Countdown to last adjustment-UNFILL

I am sorry you are so tight. Grace, in the meantime, you can help your nutrition by having a Protein shake every morning, drop a 1/2 a banana in there. Take your liquid Vitamins, be good to your body. As to what to drop your fill to. I don't have an answer for you. Everyone is so different. For me, I was thinking that at 2.8, I was able to eat nice small meals and maintain. If I need a defill at goal, 2.8 would be good for me. But everyone is different. I have recorded my fills and posted my reactions. So I have a pretty good idea. But aren't we lucky that this band is adjustable?

    B.C. Bandsters..

I went to Leung, I love the guy. He is an excellent surgeon, the OR nurse whispered that in my ear, before I went under. I have to agree. I followed his post op diet, all his advice and knock on wood, have not had one problem. I think it was about 6 months No, I don't know of anyone yet, who has got this covered by BC Med. I heard that Quebec was starting to think about including this in their Med, but have yet to hear of any province covering this surgery. I was happy to pay my money. I have probably spent more that 12,000 on diets in my 25 years of dieting anyway. So that is how I looked at it. I too was worried that my primary doc wouldn't give me a referral. But, she did. If she didn't, I was prepared to go to another doctor. I don't even really know why this is necessary since we are self pay. Dr Leung's secretary's name is Evelyn, she is very knowledgable and will answer almost any question you have. Good luck in your search and let us know how things go. Cheers Paula 98 pounds lighter in 16 months.

    It is the little things...

I live on a hill. I used to walk the 'hell walk' with a friend and not be able to talk while on the upside. Yesterday, my friend couldn't talk on the upside, so I gabbed the whole way. So today the little thing is that I can walk up this huge hill, and without that extra 98 pounds, it seems like a breeze. :clap2:

    Countdown to goal.....

Thanks Losingjusme! Thanks Chickie! Argon, you won't drag me down. I hear ya on the last few. That last pound took a huge effort. I am having to kick it up a notch with the exercise. I am currently working out with a cop. Ha, she is one tough cookie. I wouldn't want to be a criminal with her after me. :paranoid Vegaswildflower, my current goal is at the top of my BMI for a healthy weight. When I get there, I am declaring goal. But more than likely, I will want to lose a few more, but at least I will be in the healthy range and won't obsess on the numbers. Then any extra pounds will be a total gift.

    Countdown to goal.....

6 Hold my hand Argon, we can do this.:clap2:
  10. Well, don't quote me on that, but he IS in his mid/late 70s in age, he will surely be retiring some time in the next few years. Lol! But I love me some Dr Leung, he is a fine surgeon and has always been very respectful to me... and besides....he make me skinny!

    NSV (Non Scale Victories)

I am glad to hear you have a few sizes in your closet. I did too and I used them all on the way down, so I am not sorry I kept them around. Now, however, 6 pounds from goal, I am finding myself having to buy a completly new wardrobe. Congratulations on your date, what a great gift to yourself.
  12. I am glad to hear of someone using Dr Woodhead. I think you are the first I have seen post. I used Leung in Surrey. Perfectly happy I did, but he will be retiring in the next few years so unless he has a successor, I will go to Woodhead for my continued monitoring. Sad, our lack of choice in the West isn't it?
  13. :faint: Who said horizontal stripes aren't flattering? That is an awesome outfit. Those are all awesome outfits. Who hoo! You look positively perfect. You inspire me to work harder on my last 6 pounds. Hey, my new hobby has been shopping too. It's actually fun at/near goal Hugs and congratulations to you my dear.

    Airport Security Nightmare

I am in shock. Follow us up on your complaint. I am hoping to go to Edmonton in the next year. I just flew to Vancouver last weekend, my new BOOTS beeped the wand, my band was fine even at 6 pounds from goal. I guess I was just lucky not to get tasered.
  17. Ya, Vancouver really needs a VLBC! I hope one is in the works. Were I smart enough, I'd go back to school and open one up myself. :glasses

    Being hypercritical.

I also think that some of what I am experiencing is that I am almost at goal. I have focused hard on losing this weight , essentially it has been my 'job' this past year. Perhaps I am wondering 'what next?' I am not plannig a list of plastic surgeries. Just a TT. I am just starting to feel what I felt as a teacher in the summer time. What now? When you work so hard, then your done, .......then what..... Perhaps I will become a gym rat, or learn to run, or take a painting class, or, or, or.... I don't think I will find maintenance difficult, so I guess, I need to put my energies into something else.
  19. I wanted to pass on some links Ghost posted for me in another thread. They have been invaluable to me in my research. They should be in a sticky at the top of this page.

    Being hypercritical.

Chickie, I am not talking about fixing all my flaws with PS, I'll be happy wtih a TT. I am talking about picking just not being satisfied enough with where I am weight wise more than anything. There is a pocket of fat here and another pocket there. I guess there is a wide gap between the top of the BMI and the bottom BMI. I'll get to my top and then have a look from there. Wasa, word on the skin. Still, I am 1000% happy with where I am today.
  21. On the other hand, I love knowing the number. I know where to 'dial'. I am 6 pounds from goal. Currently, at 3.2. I am thinking I can maintain at 2.8 and will ask for a defill to 2.8 when I reach goal.

I am staying on plan today because... I. AM. SO. CLOSE. 6 pounds to goal.:whoo:
  25. Beautiful! I am curious as near goal, I am now a deflated D cup. Would you mind telling me how they feel? Do they feel different? Do they feel like you have something under there? Did you regain full sensation? Thanks in advance for any feedback .
