72 pounds in 10 months is an incredible victory! Most of my weight is in my belly as well, and my thighs. My mid section started growing steadily after my hysterectomy, until I topped out at where I’m at now: 282.

Many moons ago, answer to above is yes
it never occurred to me that having my hysterectomy
would have any input on my weight loss.
I'm still standing 7+ years PO - maintenance

Has anyone had the sleeve gastrectomy AFTER having a hysterectomy?
I had a hysterectomy in 2015. Since then, I am unable to lose weight on my own, hence the reason for having WLS in upcoming September.
I’m afraid that I will still struggle to lose the weight after the WLS. Or that it won’t work at all.
I’d appreciate feedback from anyone and everyone who has had the sleeve gastrectomy after a hysterectomy, or knows someone who has. Thank you in advance!

Thank you very much. I received your email as well. I will start my research on Dr. Illan

I have read the past thread about Dr. Altamirano and I’ve read the article about the BP not being affiliated or recommending him anymore. I also read the articles about the gentleman passing after surgery, admittedly, it is scary and heartbreaking. There were statements about Dr. Altamirano leaving needles and sponges inside patients, are these instances confirmed or just rumor? I will admit that my experience with Dr A has been prompt and pleasing so far. My surgery is scheduled for September so any information I can get, either way, would be greatly appreciated.
*Edit*
I have also been bombarded with positive reviews about him. That being said, please don’t approach this as if I am 100% convinced either way. I am fishing for information, no matter if it’s positive or negative.

Is the forum on BP? Can you point me in the right direction please? And thank you so much for the information.

I agree briswife, 100%. That’s the purpose of asking this question 🙂

There are surgeons who are stateside that can/will do the surgery. I’ll be honest and admit that I’m looking for surgery in Mexico because it’s more affordable for me. Yes, I can come up with the money to have it done here but I can’t justify spending 3 to 4 times the money on myself.
