  1. Hang in there liquid, I'm sending a huge bear hug from NH to you. This is not your fault. He made the choice and it's on him:angry:. You are on your way to making your insides match your outsides and no one can stop you. I agree with the statement that the best revenge is to choose good health and make this even more determined to succeed. I'm soooo sorry this happened. He will regret it, I'm sure there is a reason this other woman was his Ex-wife. He made a bad choice, but you can do this! We are all here to support you in whatever way you can. Cry all you want and feel the feelings so you can let him go and live your life. Moe
  2. Hi Everyone! Sorry I haven't been around. I am still feeling great, I move to ground/mushy food this week and I CAN'T WAIT!!!! I'm really sick of shakes. I'm a little nervous, but I'm ready. I'm headed to San Antonio for a business trip this week, so any of you that are headed to lap band land this week, I'll be praying for you. Moe
  3. The fact that you are young will actually work to your benefit. The younger you are helps you heal more quickly and typically bounce back faster, so you go girl:) My other suggestion is to let the nurses and doctors know of your fears and voice them-that way they are off your chest and you can just worry about getting on with your new life:)
  4. Hi EVerybody! Talk about keeping us honest:) Where else would you post your weight in plain sight! Weight loss: 8lbs Exercise : about 6-7 miles walking Loving the band:) Moe
  5. Good luck lucky 8'S! You will all be in my prayers today! Moe
  6. maleliz777, My doctor's office explained that the blood clots were mainly a risk for the people who didn't move after surgery. As long as you get up and walk as much as possible then your blood keeps flowing and makes it very difficult to clot. Even if you cant get up right away, rotate your feet in circles and move your legs. My advise and I have lived it for a week, walking-outside, not around the house, is a God send. It helps with getting rid of the gas, helps prevent clots, helps you lose weight, and gets you mind and body back to work sooner. As for the "Awake" movie, dear God! Who let you watch that before surgery! That like watching Jaws before going to the beach. You poor thing!! I was wheeled around the corner from kissing my DH and the Dr said I'm going to give you a little something and you'll go off to sleep and I did. I don't even know where the OR is, I was out cold 10 feet from the corner and I woke up in recovery. With any surgery there are risks and they wouldn't have to warn us if they didn't happen, but the flip side of that is for us to stay heavy and have health issues that do worse things to us. I was aware of the risks, but the thought of a long healthy life with my family made it worth it. I'll keep you in my prayers, Take care! moe
  7. You are so right , only the people on this board would understand this post! I'm looking forward to a less gassy me:)
  8. Hey Tacha! I agree with krtork, all of us were a little nervous, but I also agree with Claudine-it was no problem. I also went on Friday and I'm going for my recheck Friday. I only took the pain meds regularly for the first day and then decreased them and stopped taking them two days ago and I feel great. I went for a 2.5 mile walk with my DH and felt great. I've lost 29 lbs so far, 9 since surgery:thumbup: This first month will be difficult for all of us, but keep your eye on the goal and people will be green with envy with your weight loss! Good luck and you will be in my prayers! Moe
  9. Congrats! The pain will ebb soon enough and then the fun begins:) Keep us posted! Maureen
  10. Godspeed Flemind!! Let us know how you make out! I'm praying your Dad makes out well, just think how much better you will feel and your heath will be much better after all this in case he needs you:) Moe
  11. Wishing you all the best! My thoughts and prayers are with you!! Keep us posted on your progress!!! Moe
  12. Great advice everyong! I was banded on the 1st too and have been cooking the past couple of nights and I tried to speak really positive to myself-silently so my family wouldn't think I was nuts:smile:. I reminded myself how much weight I have dropped already and then I remembered that in a few weeks I can have this stuff and between now and then I'm going to keep losing. I've actually kind of reward myself everyday with a compliment-you did it-type of thing. Anytime I get that head hunger I get on this site or find something to keep me busy or go for a walk. I think part of this is showing our emotional self that we can live without solid food for a month. Before surgery when I skipped a meal, I thought I would die. Now I know I can do it. Just think of how proud of ourselves we will be when we make it to the goal of eating solids again:) I love the idea of cuddle time too. My 5 year old son announces to everyone that comes in to check on me that "mom's losing weight", because when I explained the surgery I said it was to lose weight. I just went out yesterday and bought 5 new extracts. I tried some almond extract in my vanilla
  13. Congrats! What a quick post! Welcome to band-land and can't wait to have the rest of the August All-Stars join us:) Moe
  14. I totally AGREE! It was not nearly as bad as a c-section. I'm totally off the pain meds and was really ready a couple of days ago, but just took them to sleep. Go for it August All Stars! THe waters not bad, COME ON IN!
  15. GOOD Luck 6ers! You're in my thoughts and prayers! You'll love it! Moe
  16. Thanks for the tip:) Moe
  17. Good luck and my prayers go with you for the Tuesday group! Let us know how it goes:) Moe
  18. Hey Sassymama, I was in the OR for about 1.5 hours. All went great and I went walking twice today. I went a total of 2.5 miles, which I never thought I'd do 3 days post-op. I feel so much better when I walk though. Walk, walk, walk!! Good luck and keep us posted on your progress. I didn't stay over, but easy shoes to put on and nothing with a tight waist. Moe
  19. Thanks!~ I'm really glad to have the "August All-Stars" to back me up through this journey! I have about 3 lbs more and it will top my highest amount of weight lost at any one time....That is sooooo huge!! I love the band:) Moe
  20. Hey Lellow and Claudine! Glad to hear from you!! I agree that the gas is a pain, but nothing unbearable, just frustrating. I'm glad to hear that both of you made out well. This is going to be a great journey. I weighed myself this morning and I'm down a pound even with my swollen belly. I weighed myself the day of surgery and it actually put 4 lbs on with the gas and liquids, so don't panic if you do gain some weight. It's all GOOD!!! Moe
  21. Hey everyone! I just got back from a walk that felt great. I saw a lot of people post before surgery that walking was awesome, but now I can post that I TOTALLY agree. I just started walking and it was such a beautiful day I just kept going. I ended up going 1.4 miles at a medium pace. It really helps with the gas and just my energy level in general. I'll take a short nap, but it just makes me feel so much better. I have some shoulder pain, but it's not bad-I have been very blessed. The only area that hurts is the port site, near the largest incision, but walking helped that too. Thanks for sharing your story gilta, I'm so glad you made out alright. Has your stomach been going crazy with noises? I'm not hungry, but my stomach is making all kinds of noises-it's kind funny. I had heard of this, but it's strange now that it's happening. Take care and I look forward to hearing more about your journey:) Moe
  22. Hang in there. the 24 hours before are crazy. Stick to your liquids, you'll be glad you did. I was ready to lose my mind the night before, but you will make it and you will succeed. We are all pulling for you and have great hopes for you tomorrow. Take care and keep us posted. You can do this! If you feel like eating, post, don't eat and we will do our best to support you. Take care band-brother:) Moe
  23. Ditto that! My thoughts and Prayers will be with all of you tomorrow! Good luck and we are one step closer to the heathier us:) Keep us posted!! Moe
  24. Congrats Tracy! I can't wait to track our progress together!! Moe
