I like the Herbox bullion cubes. I've tried Herbox packets and different brands of Bone Broth and didn't care for the taste.Headache finally went away yesterday - so 7 days before it lifted. After reading some of the info provided on carb withdrawal I started to increase my sodium intake with broths and that seems to have helped. I am still beyond hungry and don’t know how I will go on full liquids starting Tuesday next week. I got my sodium intake from broth and I have trie a few and sooooo many are just nasty and taste like chemicals to me. What kids of broths have others enjoyed that I can try out to help me through this next phase?

Make sure you bring plenty of Water to stay hydrated.
I love iced Protein coffee in a huge thermal cup. Or iced Protein tea. Premier Protein Peaches and Cream or Strawberries in Cream are awesome in iced tea or iced green tea! YUM! Goes down easy. All you really need in life are your liquids and protein. Everything else is lipstick on a pig.
I love this comment!! I am currently on pre-op liquids and you just made my day!!

I am on day 4 and it's not as bad as the other days. It's definitely a mental game.

Mine is also the 17th [emoji137]♀️ I'm getting excited. I wish us all luck!My pre-op diet is the day before surgery I am on a full liquid diet. Other then that they let me enjoy whatever (as long as I maintain my weight loss) required for the surgery and insurance.

I wanted to give an update. I completed all the requirements for federal BCBS on August 12. On August 23 my doctors office called and told me insurance approved my surgery. August 28 is my pre-op consult with my surgeon and prep class. I will have surgery within the next four weeks!

I received a call from the receptionist/appointment clerk at my surgeon's office. The PA reviewed my stack of paperwork and medical records I turned in. I qualify for surgery based on high cholesterol. Based on that I finally
received an initial consult with the surgeon! I go in tomorrow for IC and nutritionist appointment.

This is my first post on this site. I am just trying to get an initial consult with a surgeon, whom came highly recommended by a friend. I submitted my paperwork, including medical records. I have Federal BCBS basic plan. Right now my BMI is 42. I have been on a roller coaster of weight loss and gain. I am looking into gastric bypass or sleeve. Well the surgeon's office called me and reported since my BMI was 38.6 on 12/31/18, I do not qualify without having a co-morbidity. The clerk reported Federal BCBS considers four comorbidities: high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and sleep apnea. I have none of these but my father has all four (family history) and I have asthma, menstrual issues, GERD, gallbladder disease, but the clerk said these don't matter with Federal BCBS. Does this sound correct? I am now looking into a different surgeon's offices.

Hey guys! I’m scheduled for sleeve surgery this Thursday, the 25th. However.....we are STILL waiting on my insurance approval!!! Nothing like cutting it close. Just wondering if anyone has Fed BCBS insurance and if you got denied, what was the reason? Or if you got approved, how long did it take? My insurance coordinator submitted everything last Monday but I have a bad feeling I’m going to be denied....I have Federal BCBS basic as well. I'm just trying to get an initial consult with a surgeon. I was told since my BMI was 38.9 on 12/31/18 I would need to have "comorbidities." I listed several such as family history of heart disease, diabetes, kidney failure and my health history of asthma, GERD, gallbladder disease, and osteoarthritis. The surgeon office called today and reported I wouldn't qualify. The office reported I needed to have sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes. Does this sound right? I was discouraged but there is another blue distinction center that I will look into.
