Band removals done laproscopically??
Mine was done open. I spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital. It was a difficult recovery. I thought I was having lap, until I awaken. I had it placed on March 8, 2008 and removed on June 10, 2008.

Unsuccessful with band but no revision?
No, I have not been able to. You and I are a lot a like. I could not stay focus with the band and am not staying focus without it. Best Wishes.

Unsuccessful with band but no revision?
I had my band removed because my port was infected even with antibotics it would not heal. I chose not to get another surgery. I never had a chance to get a fill. I got the band on March 8, 2008 and lost it on June 10, 2008.

I lost my band...
Carol, I understand. I lost my band three months after I got it. I was selfpay also. All I have to show for it is a large credit card bill and a scarred stomach. It does get better. I too was angry. Its hard but, started weight watchers and trying to do some exercise. Good Luck to you . I am not doing another surgery.

Would you do it again?
No, I would not do it again. It didn't work for me but, I do know people that it worked for.

Tinker
Tinker, doesn't sound crazy to me. I had the lapband placed and removed in Mexico.

Pain in left thigh
Angel, thanks still having pain. X-rays showed arthritis in hip and thigh. Doc. gave me some meds. He is going to refer me to an orthopedic specalist if pain continues.

Stomach Size:
Does anyone know how long it takes for stomach to return to its regular size after lapband removal? Mine has been removed for 5 weeks and 1 day.

Anyone wake up to find they had an "open" lapband surgery?
pb punisher, thank you. I was having problems. I only had the band three months before it was removed.

Anyone wake up to find they had an "open" lapband surgery?
Sades, I was but, just wanted the same ease as when it was placed. Had lap going in, thought I would have lap coming out.

Anyone wake up to find they had an "open" lapband surgery?
pb punisher I woke up to an open lapband removal because of scar tissue. It was a big disappointment. I thought I would be up and around in a couple of days but, it has been five weeks and still recovering. I am off work for the summer so that helps. Hope your recovery goes well.

June 5 I will be de-banded
Sondra, I had my lapband removed on 6-10-08. I too am happy it is gone. I have nothing against the lapband, it just didn't work for me. I only had it three months before I had to have it remove. Best Wishes to everyone.
