  1. I have taken miralax off and on for about 10 years now. It works by drawing water to the stool. I would be much more concerned about the lack of a bowel movement than I would be taking Miralax. everyone is different though.
  2. No. Miralax does not cause dependence and is very, very gentle. Many pediatricians prescribe it for children. It is one of the safest to take.

Vitamins, gummies and pills. oh my!

I was told to avoid gummies. As you can see here, Johns Hopkins agrees Also good vitamin info here https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/johns_hopkins_bayview/_docs/medical_services/bariatrics/nutrition-suggested-vitamin-mineral-supplements.pdf ”Multivitamin Recommendations:  Multivitamin must be complete, containing iron and other trace minerals. Should contain at least:  200% Daily Value for most contents, specifically iron (36mg), folic acid (800mcg) and thiamin (3mg)  100% Daily Value for zinc (15mg), copper (2mg) and other nutrients  Taking a Bariatric Multivitamin may eliminate the need for additional Vitamin D and B12 supplements.  Bariatric Multivitamins are also available with different amounts of Iron, choose one that meets your individual needs and eliminate the need for a separate Iron supplement as well.  AVOID GUMMY Multivitamins. Gummies do not have all the vitamins and minerals you need.”

    Losing More By Eating More

I can’t wait until I am able to get to the point that I can start eating more calories. Right now I am just not able to take very much in. Plus I am not yet able to eat vegetables so it is killing my weight loss. I have been in a stall for two weeks now and I know it is because I am not eating enough. Very little that I can do about it at this point in time though.
  5. I had sleeve surgery in March 2018. I ended up with gerd and hiatal hernia this year so recently revised to bypass. I initially lost 73 pounds with sleeve and then bounced upwards by 16 pounds. I am almost 8 weeks out from rny revision and have lost 34 pounds total and two pants size so far. as of now I am happy with my decision to revise. Only wish that I had followed my gut (pun) and got the bypass from the start. It is going to take hard work and determination no matter what route you decide to take. Good luck!
  6. Get some papaya enzymes ASAP and never be without them. They help to digest food and have been a major help in my journey. they also help you to absorb meds/ vitamins better.

    Frustr8?

Right I understand that people don’t always stick around. She just disappeared so abruptly. Maybe she is having rotator cuff surgery. Maybe now recovering and it would be hard to get online.

    Frustr8?

Yes. I messaged her and no response. I know that she has had some issues since surgery and I pray that all is well

Vitamins, gummies and pills. oh my!

I take 2 bariatric fusion Complete in the morning and two at night. Chewable, taste good and has everything that I need instead of taking multiple pills. i do take good probiotics and extra biotin as well.
  10. Are you asking me? It has been rough trying to find food that I tolerate and also figuring out how much I am able to eat. It is not the same at every meal. I also had a very large hernia repair so the recovery itself has been a little rough. My surgery lasted 5 1/2 hours by the time my surgeon converted me to rny, cleaned up a good bit of scar tissue and did the repair.
  11. A diuretic will make that worse. You need to have plenty of fluid get to your stools. I take miralax every single day plus stool softeners a few times per week. duuretics will dry you out even more.
  12. I was on the same exact medication. My surgeon took me off immediately after surgery. I can’t believe that yours didn’t honestly. Be extra careful as the Hctz is a diuretic as well.

    Cold 🥶 Feet 😬

One thing that you may want to ask your surgeon about is if they will numb your stomach before surgery. This was not done before my sleeve but was before revision to bypass. Huge difference in pain level.

    Cold 🥶 Feet 😬

You absolutely can not forget to take your vitamins. This is non negotiable. Set a reminder in your phone if needed. Do whatever it takes to make sure that you get your vitamins in. Otherwise you will have complications for sure. i had emergency c section 39 years ago. It was so bad that I never had another child. I was in pain immediately after sleeve surgery but the pain was not even close to my c section. You will get through it

Lap Band Removal and Revision Suggestions Needed

I agree. Most surgeons would recommend bypass if reflux is involved.

    Moving to another state

This has not happened to me but, the classes that you complete now will count towards your requirements. They don’t have to be done at the same place. They just need to happen in consecutive months. call your health insurance company to set your mind at ease. good luck!
  17. Wow!! That’s a whole lot of food for being two weeks out. I can barely eat 1-2 ounces of soft food at 7 weeks out. cant handle white or dark chicken. Haven’t even been released to eat white chicken or pork yet. No way do I feel safe even with seeds or nuts yet. This is the most aggressive diet that I have seen post op. Hope everything continues to go well for you. congratulations to you!
  18. I would let her stew for a bit. Let her really put some thought into it. If she is serious about making amends with you she won’t give up yet, wait and see what happens. You have to safeguard your heart in my opinion.

    Three days after surgery

Has this just started since surgery? There are many things that can cause pain that runs down the leg. Mostly associated with back issues. Normally pt is tried if you have had testing done to be sure there is no serious issue causing it. Heat or ice 20 minutes on and 20 off should provide some temporary relief. guessing this has been going on for awhile since you have had nerve conduction tests done.

    Pain

The pain that I had after bypass was rough. It does get better so hang in there! Be sure to let your surgical team know about your pain just in case there is an issue though. also be sure to walk when possible and get as much fluid in as you are able. It really will help.
  21. I am almost two months post op and can’t eat any raw veggies yet. It just takes time to be completely healed. I haven’t really thought about pasta as I didn’t really eat it much before surgery. There are lots of good pasta replacement options out there though. I have made fried rice using riced cauliflower and it was good. That was during my pre bypass stage though. you will find a new normal way if eating and feel so much better for it. Hang in there!

    so frustrated

That same exact thing happened to me before my sleeve surgery. I still got approved easily but our deductible went up. hang in there. It will all work out.
  23. Your muscles won’t weaken. I wore mine for about 2.5 weeks post op. I tried to take it off sooner and started having odd pains. Dr told me to put it back on and wear it as long as it is comfortable to wear. It helped me a lot. that binder is holding things in place but not doing the work of your muscles.

    Am I losing my mind...

Really sounds like he is insecure and isn’t comfortable with you looking good to me.

    Pain swelling so much pain

Danny, did you have complications? I think that you had surgery several days ago? Like the others have said it will get better quickly. Some people have severe pain and some none at all. Hang in there!
