    Feeling exhausted

That is what I have done. I have a Walmart neighborhood market close by. I go online to place my order and husband goes to pick it up.

    Tortillas Anyone?

Try Joseph’s lavash bread. Extremely thin and I only need 1/4 of one wrap which equates to 30 calories. Made from flax and oat bran. Tastes good too.

    Feeling exhausted

I am 3 weeks out and feel exactly the same. Even the small stuff wears me out. We have to give ourselves time to recover from major surgery. It will get easier with time.

Hair is feeling very coarse ?

I was sleeved in Match 2018. I started losing hair at 6 months out and am still losing it. It is so bad that my scalp would sunburn over this past summer. My dietician said that hair loss is due to the very low calorie diet we are on i the beginning. I had to revise to a bypass 3 weeks ago and am nervous about having even more hair loss. Protein is very important but I have hit protein goals since first surgery. I have been taking a good biotin supplement from the start. This time I am using a shampoo that is said to stop the production of dht. I have my fingers crossed that it will at least help. I also get cold easier than I did pre op. I have heard the same from many bariatric surgery patients.

    Pre-requisites Done!

Awesome! March will be here before you know it. 😁

    Dehydrated

Right. I am allowed to drink it as well. But caffeine is dehydrating so I make sure to limit it is all.

    Dehydrated

Was it caffeinated coffee? Caffeine is dehydrating.
  8. Not sure about 6 weeks but, I will say that getting my energy levels back up has been hard. If I were given a choice, I would probably take 4 weeks. At least by then you would be eating semi normally. The extreme low calorie diet has just zipped my energy. I know that everyone is different though.
  9. Hopefully my post above answered this for you. I wanted to add that I did get the stomach numbing injections on both sides during surgery. I think that it helped a lot. i did not get those injections with my sleeve.
  10. I just had to do this exact same revision for exact same reason 3 weeks ago. The first week was rough but I think that it was not as painful as my sleeve was. At 3 weeks out things are getting much better. My restriction is much tighter since revision than it was with sleeve. My surgery was scheduled for 4 hours but ended up taking 5.5 hours. Once my surgeon took a look from the inside my hernia ended up being huge. He did a repair with mesh. I had robotic surgery. I do hope that helped and good luck!

Sleeve to bypass weight loss concern

I was considering Linx before my recent bypass. There are study programs out there where you can get it for free if you qualify. The main qualifier is to have and keep a BMI below 35. I came close to choosing this but just wasn’t comfortable having magnets around my esophagus. My dr specializes in it and told me that it works very well as long as BMI is kept below 35.

    App isn’t working on iPhone

Me too I always have problems with the app. Gave up on it for s long time. Now this. Glad to know it’s not just me though.

    Tracking apps

Many bariatric patients use MyFitnessPal you may want to check it out. Another is bariatastic.
  14. You would be safest calling your surgeon to ask. I am not familiar with this medication at all.

    Post Op 1 week today

Totally normal to suffer depression in the early post op period. Estrogen is released with rapid weight loss. It is hormonal. Hang in there. It does get better.

    Lifting?

My instructions are strictly no lifting over 10 pounds for the first 8 weeks. I would think you should be fine now but your dr really should have told you yes or no.
  17. Don’t see an option to edit on mobile app. My post should read 1/4 of a wrap.
  18. I thought that I would chime in with something that I have used in the past. Rather than use the flatbread or tortilla wraps, try Joseph’s Lavash Bread. The wraps are large and we only need about 1:4 of one which equates to 30 calories. They are made from flax, whole wheat and oat bran. Super yummy!
  19. It actually works very well for some folks. I have a family member that has been doing well for years taking it in combo with a few other meds. If it is not working well for you, do not hesitate to see your dr and try something else. There are many things out there. You just have to find what works for you. What I have seen some people do that are attempting to restart their weight loss is go back to basics. Start where you were just after surgery. Do liquids then soft foods, etc. always be sure to get protein first. Good luck!!!

    Hospital bill prepaid?

I had sleeve in 2018 and bypass two weeks ago. I did not have to prepay any of it. So sorry that you went through this. Just like everything else out there, medical systems are all about the almighty dollar. Also, I had both surgeries in the same state but hospitals that are 300 miles apart from each other.

    Total Gastrectomy anyone?

I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I did hear if another person ( different forum) that was going to have to have this done. Not sure if she has or not though. I have no info to share. Just wanted to wish you luck.

    1 year post op

It may be worth a shot to see one that specializes in bariatric patients. Maybe ask your surgeon to give you a list of good ones? Unless your surgeon is like mine and has one on staff?

    1 year post op

Have you thought about counseling? It may help you be able to appreciate your achievements and be happier with yourself.

Eating out after Gastric bypass surgery

I actually enjoy reading this thread. Hopefully it is a little easier for you to post and say what is on your mind here than it would be face to face. I haven’t had the opportunity come up yet to go to a buffet but, I think that if I were going out to eat with others that wanted buffet, I would absolutely go. I would try to use my card for child portion but either way I would go. I hope that this thread continues. Gentle ((( hugs))) to you.
