    Life Taken Away

Heartfelt condolences in the loss of your child. I am truly sorry for you. I lost my middle sister in the beginning of my Wls journey. Lost my mom 11 months ago. I think that you are smart to postpone your surgery and allow yourself time to grieve. We are all here to listen when you need us. Wish there was more that I could do for you. (((Hugs))) thoughts and prayers your way.

    No Bowel Movement...

It will work if you take daily. It may take a few days to work because it is so gentle though.

    Forced to do Bypass

I just revised from sleeve to bypass 8 weeks ago. Like you I was afraid if the. Bypass. I got the sleeve early 2018 ended up with large hernia and gerd. now that I have the bypass, I am very happy with it. As long as you keep up with having bloodwork checked, take your vitamins and eat healthy, there is nothing to fear from the bypass. you have to do this or deal with cancer. There is no other option. Please make peace with it so that you can get healthy. You will be glad that you did it I once it is behind you. My only regret is that I did not start out with bypass and avoid having surgery twice. hang in there and come here for support. Please keep us updated as well. You got this.

    No Bowel Movement...

Yes. I like the smooth move tea on occasion as well.

    No Bowel Movement...

Huh? I have been on a regular routine for 15 years now. Not sure what you are talking about. Miralax is very safe and even given to children.
  7. I had sleeve to bypass revision mostly for my gerd and hernia. But I never lost all of my weight with the sleeve either. I have managed to lose 35 pounds in the 8 weeks since my surgery. I feel like that is pretty good and not sure why so many people say that we won’t get great results with revision as far as weight loss goes. I am very happy with my progress so far. Good luck!

    Recovery Time?

Here is another thread that you may want to follow.

    Recovery Time?

I don’t work but can tell you one of the things that would have held me back was exhaustion. I am 8 weeks out from full bypass and still don’t have my energy back. Everyone is different though so you may be just fine at 7-10 days. once you move on to soft foods it will get easier. The liquid stage is just an energy zapper. I feel sure that others will chime in soon.

    No Bowel Movement...

No. This is not good at all. Try milk of magnesia, stool softeners, magnesium citrate and/ or an enema. You should never go more than 3 days without bm or you risk having a blockage. If none of those things work you need Togo to the er. I use a scoop of miralax every morning. Sometimes I still need to use mom or stool softner.
  12. Syntrax nectar chocolate truffle made with fairlife milk is what I use. If all else fails you could just drink fairlife milk. Add sugar free chocolate syrup to it or drink it plain. The bariatric pal store offers sample packs of the syntrax nectar. Those are the best flavors that I have found to date.
  13. I had to take vitamins with my sleeve and now still have to take with rny. My bloodwork has always been perfect.
  14. Now I am able to eat chili easily and have been since the soft foods stage started.
  15. Great news, Steve! I am 8 weeks out and will t even try dehydrated anything at this point. I tolerated most everything with my sleeve but rny is a whole other ballgame. I am just now starting to tolerate meat.

    Dr. Micheal Michelle, Summerville, SC

Me too and I had rny. Much smaller than my non Robotic sleeve incisions although they are pretty small As well.

    Dr. Micheal Michelle, Summerville, SC

I have a navel incision as well. All of my other incisions are pretty small so they don’t bother me at all. Of course I have no plans to wear a bikini in the near future either.

    Protein Bar?

I like the pure protein double chocolate ( I think that’s the name) they are 20 grams protein and 180 Calories. I only eat half at a time on the occasions that I do eat them. Very handy to have in a pinch for sure.

    Dr. Micheal Michelle, Summerville, SC

I had the same surgeon and the do the robotic rny and hernia repair surgery. I agree with your thoughts although I had no problems at Summerville Medical Center. excellent surgeon and excellent bedside manner. I highly recommend him.

    Liquid poo after surgery?

This^^^^ was my experience as well. I drank Powerade zero to counteract. i became normalish after about 1.5 weeks. Now I deal with constipation.
  21. Revise. That’s what I did with no regrets so far. It is really the only long term solution for those of us that have gerd after sleeve.

2 month now the stall has begun...

You could try increasing your calories a bit. Many people have had good results breaking a stall this way.

    Pudding okay to eat

No pudding 3 days post op or pre op in liquid stage. That can be had in the soft food stage.

7 weeks post op and risking it

My dr told me that if I must have broccoli, eat the florets only. No stem and cook the hell out of it.
  25. Awe. So sorry, Steve. Did they say if the low bp was the cause? That’s pretty scary.
