  1. I went to the doctor yesterday and they took blood and EKG they said if we don't call you then everything is fine. I was relived cause I thought it was, nope. Around 2pm I get a phone call saying I have to go get a CT scan(with contrast)because they wanted to make sure it wasn't a blood clot good forbid. The whole entire time I had my heart in my throat. After I left I was waiting for the bus and the doctor called and I can hear it in his voice and when be told me that there was no blood clot I was crying on the phone thanking him so much and when I got on the bus I was still crying and thanking God for watching out for me again. Always believe and pray to God for once I was lost but now I am found

  2. I'm sorry your Dr couldn't see you. Hope everything turns out ok at City MD
I am 6 days post op VSG, tomorrow will be my 1 week anniversary. I felt absolutely horrible for the first 72 hours to the point I actually second guessed the surgery. The symptoms slowly but steadily improved. Today I feel almost 100% percent normal except that I'm a little sore still, not hungry and I struggle to drink shakes and Water.
My wife's friend had the same procedure and she looked like she was ready to leave the hospital 2 hours after the procedure. No pain no issues nothing. She was back at work the day after she was released.
Everyone is different hopefully as the time passes you will feel better too.
Thank you I need all the good luck and prayers I need...

  3. And I will pray it is something minor, easily fixed and you get to feeling so much better that the post we see will be a Happy[emoji12]One! I'm a much older person and I hate anyone suffering, even at 41. I'm 73 and have more than my share of battles but I come out on top as a rule and I believe you will too.
Thank You so much I am a firm believer in our Lord Jesus Christ. Yes will do as soon as I get answers tomorrow

  4. Hi I'm April I'm 41 from NYC I have a quick question. I am post op 2 weeks (this Thursday), and I have not felt good at all. The main problem is if I go for a short walk my heart rate was 111 compared to last Monday of 115. Can someone please tell what's causing this? I saw on my discharge paperwork that I had altelectasis Pretesting. Since then my stomach is still hurting n I have a horrible rash from the pads on me. I'm trying not to be anxious but I really can use the best info I can get.i also tried to get an emergency appointment with my Dr they couldn't get me one so tomorrow I'm going to City MD to try n get some Help. Ty in advance

  5. Atelectasis, or a partial lung collapse is a known complication of general anesthesia. It could happen with ANY surgery and is not specific to bariatric surgery. That's one of the big reasons we have to do that incentive spirometer.
Do your incentive spirometer as directed in your post-op instructions. Make sure you're communicating with your doctor with your symptoms.
Thank You for your advice I really appreciate it, it was found on March 6 day of Pretesting. I'm doing my exercises like clockwork. Ty again you made my anxiety much less now

  6. I had my surgery bon 3/14 finally. I was feeling horrible from the moment I was done. I was in the hospital for an overnight stay. I came home Friday night the first few days have been rough. I am having 50/50 of breathing I'm doing my exercises n monitoring my BP. Come to find out why... No one from Pretesting called me and told me that my left lung had partially collapsed. Aka Atelectasis. I'm trying to get some answers..I'm unhappy with my decision.... On a positive note I am Post Op Day 5... My stitches are healing nicely tho.IMG_20190316_185809_766.jpeg
