  1. cocoakp2 did the egg drop Soup have corn? Here it seems they all have corn, carrots and possibly peas. I’m not so clear on whether or not that qualifies as ok. I’m afraid to mess up. So far both has really upset my stomach but I’m trying to be good and not completely ignore rules. [emoji2]
Dont ignore the rules[emoji1]No corn or any other veggies. Seems to have eggs in a slightly thickened soup.

  2. I was also had sleeve surgery on the 19th. I am down 20 lbs. I know what you mean about the Jello and pudding, but for me it is yogurt and Protein shakes!! I am loving the egg drop Soup though. Homemade or takeout, though I have to say takeout is the best. Poached eggs and cottage cheese and pineapple pureed are also up on my list!

I tried the egg drop Soup (takeout) and I was surprised that it didn't upset my stomach. Oddly enough I'm struggling with the Protein Shakes and yogurt. BTW I had the sleeve on the 19th.

  3. Any tips to help the bloating? Feeling pretty miserable...

The bloating is very miserable. I used the infant gas drops and had a tiny amount of milk of magnesia (consult with your doctor first). It took about day 5 post op for me to begin to release the bloat. I walked around my house 10 times and when I able to tolerate Protein Shakes, that really helped.

  4. Sounds like gas? Are you drinking from a Water bottle? I had the same pain the last 3 days then I switched to a cup and made sure I wasn't breathing as I was drinking. I feel much better now. I can get in about 1.5 Protein Shakes (but it does take most of the day).

I have been drinking from a bottle. However, I'm gonna give your way a try... Are you sipping from a cup? Seems like its difficult for me to sip without air getting in.

  5. Hi everyone, I'm new to posting but have lurked here before and I'm so thankful for this community and all information and stories shared. I'm having my VSG surgery in 2 days 2/25/19 and I'm incredibly nervous, excited, terrified, happy...Just a mess of emotions. It doesn't help that I've never had surgery before. I'm sure these feelings are normal but I'm typically a zen, chilled out person so my question is... what are some things you did PRE-OP to calm your nerves before surgery?

I tried not to think about it, but that didn't work. I prayed and let it go about 20 times[emoji1]
The night before surgery, my husband and I had an argument simply because he could tell "something" was on my mind. I cried and [emoji24]. Then the morning of surgery, I had peace about it. Some things may or may not work, but deep down you just KNOW you're going to do well. I finally figured that out the morning of...

  6. @cocoaakp2 surgery was fine but I was extremely nauseous and throwing up after all day long. Worst day ever . Now my bp is high and they think it may be from the pain meds. I’m not really in any significant pain, just sore and my head is pounding. Hopefully today goes better.
    Thank you!
Get well soon! Hope your recovery gets better day by day. Take it easy and stay as long as you need to.

@Elsy everything went well. I will be discharged tomorrow. Could've left today, but I asked to stay til tomorrow... I am enjoying the treatment and iv meds[emoji1] I'm very sore at one invcision & my tummy is kinda swollen. Bending and lifting is not much of an option. Overall, I'm grateful for a successful pro edure. Looking forward to an even better recovery... Especially concerning this gas[emoji30]

  8. Not sure if anyone pays any attention to this forum but on the off chance someone does.. I was wondering if anyone has tried Phentermine as a weight loss tool and what their experiences with it were?
I have a friend that has said if she knew about Phentermine before she had her VSG should wouldn't have had the procedure and just took her time using that product to lsoe the weight. I've read of the possible side effects and they are pretty unnerving.. though no more unnerving than the unknown of having surgery.
I took it for several months. It can be addictive and it caused dizziness & me. When I started it made me feel good, curbed my appetite, and lose weight, but not long afterwards, the side effects kicked in. I was told to use it no more than 3 months.

  9. Hi guys I was sleeved on 2/4 and today I'm having really bad pain that basically feels like someone is cinching a belt under my breasts and radiates to my back has anyone experienced this or knows what it is? it's happening during drinking and sometimes after drinking I've tried taking smaller sips thinking that's the problem and no dice.

Sounds very painful. You should let your surgeon or medical team know.

  10. I’m scheduled for next Thursday. I’ve felt very positive until today . I’m starting to have some anxiety. I’m also going over and over in my head if I were just strong enough or had enough self control maybe I could just do this all on my own. Anyone else experience this?
Hi Elsy, I'm scheduled for next Tuesday and I'm going through the same thing! I keep beating myself up about it. I keep thinking, "Why don't I have the will power or self control to do this on my own." I have to remind myself why I considered it. I have to be honest with myself and remind myself that I DON'T have to have surgery. But! It's a good chance I will continue to struggle with losing weight. This is a tool that will help me initially, but I still have to do the work. This isn't the "easy" way out. This is hard and scary but it will be worth it. I read all of everyone's progress and wonder what my progress will be (6 months, a year, 2 years from now) and it gives me hope. It doesn't take away the anxiety, but I am going to trust God, praying for a great recovery, and have hope for myself.
