I was 11 months out of surgery when I found out I was pregnant with my first. I am now 3 years post op and pregnant with baby #2. For both pregnancies it took one month after stopping the pill.

    Hello! Needing some advice.

Did you try to get pregnant after WLS and how long did it take when actually trying?

    Hey everyone!
I will be 1 year post op July 18th and right now i'm kind of lost. I'm down 101 pounds so i'm very happy about that. 😊 I just need the motivation to exercise and be motivated. I feel like i'm at a stand still and my next goal is 30 more pounds. What gives you motivation to work out and just all around motivation? Also how much do you eat? My surgeon said i need to measure everything i eat still. I just serve a little bit and if i dont finish the food i throw it away..

I’m only 4 months out, so I still have a long way to go. Started at 333 and am now at 270.8 as of this morning. I walk at least 10k steps a day and am doing some strength training and hiit videos from YouTube. But I’m only doing short ones that are 5-15 minutes in length. That way I’m still getting a bit of a work out and training myself into making it a habit. I’ll eventually start longer workouts. (At least that’s the plan). I find walking can be very boring, so I listen to audiobooks while I walk. One morning I walked for over an hour because I wanted to hear more of the story. Find something that will work for you.

Try setting a fitness goal for yourself. Maybe a 5k? Thats how it got started for me. My new addiction is exercise. I just completed my first half marathon 3 weeks ago...and now im training for a Triathlon. I find if im working towards a goal it makes working out easier. My nutritionist wants me eating 2500+ cals but that based off my training. 150 miles on the bike a week plus 10+ miles of running. its struggle because i eat a lot of small things constantly, but its all healthy foods. It sounds like a lot but i trust her 100%, shes gotten me this far, and i definitely notice a difference in my performance if i dont eat. Good luck!

It gets easier, but it’s still rough sometimes.
On the upside, hubs and I rarely go out to eat anymore bc of this, therefore it’s great for our budget.
On the downside,I’ve had to learn to tell myself repeatedly that IDGAS what the servers or restaurant staff think of me when I I order an appetizer as a meal (honestly it’s so tedious sometimes to explain that I want it brought when everyone’s meal arrives because IT IS MY MEAL) or when hubs and I share an app and I take small bites off of his plate and ask for an extra smaller plate.
You would think with more and more bari brothers and sisters out there that this would be so common, but it’s still hard for people to understand.
It’s like our society exists to stuff our faces with as much crap as we can when we go out rather than enjoy the experience of going out.

I know that as the pounds came off, I felt better and better, gained more and more confidence. I stood up a little straighter, took better care of myself. I'm sure that was projected out into the world and people noticed.

I drank alcohol 3 weeks after my surgery and felt like crap about it. Youll feel liike you messed up a lot of times during this journey you just have to accept the fact you did it, take responsibility, and move on. Thats what i have to do, im still very hard on myself with certain things but when i get back on track im good. ☺️

I was told i can have boost glucose control and carnation healthy start which are helping I keep forgetting the tea ... ..and have bouts of hangry because everybody else in the house must be fed. This zero yogurt i have Monday is going to be the best ever lol. Didn't realize how emotional I would be and how fast the weight would be coming off even before surgery i lost 7 lbs from Friday to Monday. I have a heightened sense of smell for food for some reason. I keep getting random painful hiccups and only two of my incisions hurt but the others itch like crazy which I know signifies healing but oddly enough where they injected my blood thinner days ago itches more than anything. But I'm trying to stay positive ..and not bite somebody lol

I get hungry every 3 hours and "snack" on something like almonds or a Protein Bar, but I also track all my food every day in MyFitnessPal.com and watch my calories to make sure I'm not overeating so many times a day. I stay at 1200 and under.

Generally, if people are hungry every two hours after some time out, it could be a few things, but Occam's Razor (simplest is best), will show you that most of the breakthrough hunger is caused by:
    1. Blood sugar crashes and insulin spikes from the previous meal. ( A meal should be able to last someone 3-6 hours and if you're feeling hungry at <2hours, you can find the culprit by looking at your food log. Anything with added sugar, fake sugar, or fast carbs - talking bout you Mr. Ritz! will cause this type of phenomenon. It can also be caused by habit...habitually eating every 2 hours never allows our blood sugar to go back to normal, and so we perceive that we need to eat cuz we're starving or shaky when the blood sugar hits normal rather than "low" or low normal. Point blank, it also hard wires the habit to receive a hit to the hedonic pleasure center every 2 hours. So the more we eat the more we get used to eating and want to eat. Also, Snacks are usually pretty unregulated. I can EASILY add 500 calories in a snack to my daily total. So not only will I stall...I will gain.)
    2. Your restriction prevents you from taking in adequate Protein per meal. Usually 2-4oz of protein per meal will last a "normal" non-athlete between 3-4 hours. Anything less than that, and yeah you could be legit straight up hungry every 2 hours.
    3. Your exercise level is causing blood sugar disregulation and causing you to go low (usually anything over 2 hours) which causes hunger.
    4. It could be that time of the month...just sayin...
    5. It could be that a medicine you're now taking or a Vitamin you're taking has gone too high. (I can tell when I need to lay off my B-Complex and B-12 for a couple days. I get voraciously hungry. And the hunger dissipates the further out from my last dose of Bs. Check your vit levels with your doctor and tell him/her about your voracious appetite.
    6. You need Water. Lots of it. You are dehydrated.
    7. It's natural. Around 7-9 months my appetite came back like there is no tomorrow. I added in IF at that point since I could easily satisfy daily protein needs with food. By adding IF, I was able to control my insulin and no more blood sugar rollercoasters and lost the rest of my weight.

Hey everyone! I am currently 5 months post op and I am loving this new life. I get told everyday how good I'm looking and how I lost a lot of weight I just don't really see it I guess yet🤷‍♀️ I am however having issues with my vitamins and I'm lacking motivation hard with exercising! What Vitamins can you keep down? Like I think my biggest thing are the MULTIVITAMINS. I get sick every time so I end up not taking my vitamins which is horrible and I don't want to do that.
What gets you motivated to workout?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
