Its not just you - Me and you are one day apart surgery - Driving me nuts also, More More weight loss More More - Fully understand - I decided to only step on the scale Sunday morning to see by the week, The daily checks were makiing me nuts!

I have read a ton on this site and others and everyone agrees - There are Head issues with this as well as physical ones, the head games get me at times also

Thank you so much! & yes i hate the scale and wish that that didnt matter but to my surgeon the number on the scale means everything and im stuck right around between 239 and 240 im just tryin to get it moving again like it was. It is so frustrating

    I’ve also got a perspective for y’all
I’ve lost about 84 pounds since surgery date on 2-6-19.
That’s an average of about 2.7 pounds per week which is at the LOWER end of the 2-4 pounds/week average. I’ve had 2 major stalls in which I didn’t lose much weight to speak of, but the INCHES were flying off of my body.
Always always always measure before deciding that you’re going to “fail at” WLS.

I’m not even 7.5 months post-op, but I’m going to hit GW sometime within the next 4-6 weeks.
And that’s me who is at the lower end of average weekly loss and hitting a couple hard stalls along the way.

Thank you so much for commenting and congrats on your weight loss!

I am right there with you! Headed into my 9th week (sleeved 7/22). I am seeing inches come off more than the bloody numbers on the scale...honestly, I stopped stepping on it. I just do my Water and Protein like others say. I am having issues where I don't really want to eat, but make myself to stay on track with the Protein. Things just taste funny!

Thank you i feel alot better!

Hiya, I'm 7 weeks post op and have only lost 34lb... i understand your frustration and hate that I'm a very slow loser but 45lbs is fantastic! You are doing great, keep it up!!

Yeah i just see other peoples journey and i feel like im not doing what im supposed to or im not doing enough exercise it is so frustrating lol but thank you!

Stop watching My 600lb Life. LOL! Seriously, that show is cool, but gives all of us the impression that we should be able to lose 25lbs in a week! LOL!

The average rate of loss is 2-4lbs per week. That's it. If you weigh more, you "can" possibly lose a lot more than that per week in the early months. But that's not a general truth.

You're doing great. There will be stalls. I had a 3 week and a 6 week stall.

Thank you so much i appreciate it lol

I’ve seen this used. I seem to be right where I should be. Everyone is different, every surgery is different but as a rough guide it might help. What surgery did you have? The Get~2~Goal app is research driven and tracks your progress compared to thousands of others but its meant for Gastric Bypass.

aww thank you! I got the gastric sleeve.

  7. Hello everyone. I am 3 days post op and honestly I’m in so much it’s hard for me to get out of bed but I am getting out of bed and walking and trying to get all my liquids and Protein in. I’m forcing myself to drink stuff because I don’t want to lose my hair and I don’t want to b dehydrated. Can’t wait to kind of be back to normal hopefully soon. 😕

Omgoodness yall! I'm so hungry right now and someone made rice in the rice cooker. I can smell it from upstairs. I am trying soooo hard to not go down stairs and eat a bowl of rice. I'm on day 7 of the pre op diet. I'm gonna be strong... maybe drink a Protein Shake that will likely fill me up so my hunger and food thoughts will pass!

Sent from my SM-G965U using BariatricPal mobile app

Tell me why this hits home! I only have 2 more days left of my 10 day diet (3 Protein Shakes and a small meal for dinner). I work 16 hour shifts 3 times a week and thank god its my FRIDAY tonight because im starving after i eat my dinner here at work at 7pm. I drink alot of Water and it doesnt help but i dont really have a choice. But think after your surgery you wont feel like that anymore!

They just checked my weight, blood pressure, asked if I had any sores/rashes..if I had been out of the country, etc. I also brought in all the meds I take on a regular basis..also brought along supplements & they weeded thru those and told me to discontinue most of the supplements (except my bariatric Multi-Vitamin, Calcium, etc. type things).

No more gingko biloba for a while but that is fine. One of my prescription meds, they don't carry @ the hospital so I'm to bring that with me. They gave me some Hibiclens wash (wash they use in the hospital) to 'shower/bathe with' the night before surgery (and the 'night' before that as well).

They took the usual 5 to 6 vials..basically like what you'd get at your primary dr's office - whole CBC panel, etc.

They talked the time I should report prior to surgery, etc. Most of the time the pre-op visit is a fairly easy thing and I've always had the luck of having nice ppl.

Oh, and they talk about any monies you are going to owe, how you are going to pay, etc. but they did not take the payment then.

    Thank you so much!

  10. For everyone that has already had surgery so far what exact labs do they have to do on your PRE OP appointment? I have surgery July 18th but i'm supposed to go on July 17th for labs and stuff and i have never had surgery so im not sure exactly what to be ready for that day????

All is well! I have been able to keep down several Soups (non chunky) and Protein Shakes and fluids. No pain anymore. I have my 2 week post op appt on Monday. I am currently down 19 lbs since surgery. I am at a two day stall, so I told myself I will not look at the scale again until Monday and am only going to weigh myself once a week. I hear the stall is normal, but ya'll know how fun it is seeing the lbs come off and then when it suddenly stops it sucks. Non-scale victory. I put on jean shorts easily that i wasnt even able to get up over my hips at the beginning of summer! YAY

Yay im so happy for you! My date is slowy approaching. Exactly one week..Im nervous how im going to feel but its time
