I am having the same pain!! My doctor thinks it’s muscular but it hurts like crazy after I eat. Today was the first time in a week I haven’t been screaming in pain (figuratively). I have high hopes for dinner

My surgery is covered by the VA. I did their full program and after everything was cleared and they agreed to pay for the surgery I was referred to the surgeon. I had another 3+ months of appointments with his office, same type I had done with the VA. I think the surgeon is ultimately the one to decide if you are ready and they need to make sure you are prepared both mentally and physically

I saw him Tuesday and sent a message today. Sometimes it’s good to here from people who have BTDT

I thought incision site too but it’s screaming in pain by the end of the night (after eating all day) and was definitely worse right after eating today. The pain after eating and standing up was instantaneous

I did fantastic on full liquids, had sleeve May 1st. Advanced to soft foods last Friday, measured 1/2 c food. Developed severe pain center several inches above belly button and under right rib. Tender to the touch, very painful to move. No pain while eating or drinking. Went to dr Tuesday he thought it was muscular. Yesterday only drank fair life or cab master milk- only minor pain all day (still had some pain with movement). Today ate 1/4 cup low fat cottage cheese (took lactaid with it because I think I may be developing lactose intolerance). Ate slow, no pain while eating but when I stood up I had that severe sharp pain again in same place and it was super painful to touch. Pain didn’t last as long but maybe because I ate 1/2 as much as before? I put a note into the dr but thought I would ask you guys too. Absolutely no pain without movement other than being sometimes still sore to touch but only after food. No nausea, vomiting, fever and labs are normal. He did say if it continues he will check gallbladder even though it doesn’t sound like gallbladder. Anyone else experience this?

Plus I was tested for drugs and nicotine and I knew it from the get go. How did she not know that was going to be found out. And she was shown smoking on camera.... crazy stuff. Love that show!! I couldn’t wait for the scenes where she saw the doctor because I knew he was going to put her in her place.

I wondered if she had ever seen the show before when she was saying she didn’t meet his goals but she thinks she did good enough and that she deserved surgery

I just watched the Angie J episode. Google reveals she has a go fund me account and in an update posted 2 days ago she claims she has been approved for surgery and is filming a second episode. Crazy stuff!!!

I am going to have to go watch it now. I became obsessed with that show after getting my surgery date but stopped watching when my first attempt at WLS failed. Being 8 days post op I see why you never see them the first month after surgery. They would not be inspirational talking about how sick of the full liquid diet they are😂😂

Sitting was more painful for me than standing and getting into bed was the worst. But I managed and the worst of the pain was over in about 3-4 days home. I still have minor right side pain and I’m 8 days post op VGS

Why don’t you ask the surgery center for the name of a local GI doctor that has given previous patients a clearance letter?

I have a desk job too. Had surgery on a Wednesday and back to work the following Monday. I only took pain meds Wednesday and Thursday. I had moderate pain in one area but managed with Tylenol. Good luck!!

I am 8 days out. I do not have to avoid drinking 30 min before/after Fluid since I am still on full liquids. About day 4 or 5 I noticed I could eat a 5 Oz container of Greek yogurt (slowly) without feeling restriction. I started giving myself that 30 min window and now I can only eat half the yogurt. I was really worried because I need restriction to keep me on target. I am getting 400 calls a day but when I was drinking with my foods I felt I could have eaten way more. I made myself stop. And I had terrible head hunger day 4-7. I have to stop and really pay attention to my stomach to see if I am hungry. So far it’s always been a “no”

It really depends on what was abnormal and if they need follow up tests. Many people have an abnormal ekg but it doesn’t cause an physical symptoms or problems

I was also sleeved on May 1st and have significant pain in one area of my right side. It’s getting better each day and last night was the first time I was able to sleep on my side but rolling over and getting up/down from a chair is still painful. If it weren’t for this one area I would be pain free.

Again, I am glad you were able to get the sleeve surgery. You have been through a lot and you deserve some smooth sailing! Keep us posted on all the success that will be coming your way. Can't wait to hear the happy news!
You are welcome and thank you for the kind words. I’m sure your surgery will not have the same outcome as mine. Good luck!

I also had my surgery May 1st. And I had a hiatal hernia repair. I’m on full liquid diet for 2 weeks post surgery. I’m already looking forward to purée stage

I had an open hysterectomy. My doctor said mine was a fluke and he has never had the problem before. If something bizarre or unusual is going to happen, it will happen to me every time. I asked him about scar tissue multiple times prior to surgery. I wish I had told him to do the sleeve if he couldn’t do the bypass. But I really wanted the bypass and didn’t want to put the thought in his head.

Just wanted to update that I went back and was able to get the sleeve May 1. I didn’t post earlier because I really felt there would be another reason the surgery could not be completed. I’m happily at home and pain of that last failed surgery has faded. So if for some reason you can’t get the surgery you want, don’t give up. I’m glad I tried again

I turned into a May gastric sleeve patient. I originally went to surgery March 27th for bypass but due to a previous surgery the bypass could not be done. So I went back in May 1st and came out with the sleeve. It was horrible but I’m glad to be through surgery. I’m still on full liquid diet (2weeks total) and I have zero appetite. I had some minor head hunger yesterday and today I want real food but it’s not an overwhelming craving. I’m just sick of Protein Drinks and yogurt. Whoever said popcorn was their weakness, I am right there with you!!! I’m sticking to this though, after all I went through to get this surgery I’m not going to do anything to mess up
