Preparing for surgery, very scared. Tips??
My experience has been quite the opposite of what I was thinking would happen. I was sleeved March 11 and as of this moment in time I am feeling very regretful of my decision to do this. The pain was absolutely horrible. I have slightly managed to get my pain under control, but I only sleep like 2 hours at a time because I am so uncomfortable. Drinking my meals when I am starving is so hard. Compared to most other people on this site, I have a lot of negative feelings about this surgery.

Any March 2019 Sleevers?
I was sleeved March 11. Still in the very regretful stage. I'm so hungry all the time. I'm sick of shakes and water and sf jello and sf popsicles. I sleep terrible, inscision pain... I sincerely hope you all who haven't had it truly know what you are getting into. I felt like I did, but I couldn't have been more wrong.

Recent Surgery Diet Struggle
I am still pretty confined to my bed. I get up to walk and pee and that's pretty much it. I started vitamins 4 days after surgery. They are chewable and I hate them. At this point I feel like I will never be able to be the person I was before surgery. I have serious "buyers remorse "... I am so hungry all the time. I drink two protein shakes a day. Plus lots of water. Broth tastes disgusting to me. I'm so sick of sugar free jello and popsicles. At the rate I am healing it will be summer before I drive. If you cant tell, I'm just super down about this while dang thing. Sorry to vent. I hope you are having an easier time.

Recent Surgery Diet Struggle
I had surgery the same day. I've been eating protein shakes, sf jello, sf popsicles, sf pudding and water. I havent had a BM since March 9th. I dont feel like I have go go at all. So I'm the exact opposite as you. I'm sorry to hear you are having these troubles. I currently don't have very many positive things to say about this surgery.

I been hungry more often

Almost 4 days post op
So little update.. had to go to emergency room. Inscision pain was unbearable. They prescribed different medicine and more often. I was pretty scared there for awhile. I understand this was surgery, but I was absolutely fooling myself that it wouldn't be hard. I know lots of people here have these great stories about how effortless it all was, but in my case, that couldn't be farther from the truth.

Almost 4 days post op
I had gastric sleeve done at noon on Monday. The surgery itself went fine, but recovery has been god awful. I can barely stand without having horrible pain and I am lightheaded most of the time. I have been able to burp, but no farts. I have to be oxygen a lot as well. Can anyone out there relate to a slow healer?? I feel so discouraged.

Mourning Food and Water
I truly understand you. I have surgery in 6 hours and I was on my all liquid diet all yesterday. I took my kids to my parents and my mom was making homemade cinnamon rolls. Talk about a test!!!! It does 100%, feel lonely. I cried before I went to bed last night. I haven't cried at all during this whole process. I haven't even had surgery yet and I'm already feeling like I cant do this. But mind over matter right?? We can do this!!!

Before Surgery
Congratulations on getting started!! I am having VSG on March 11. I'm still a noob myself, but a couple things I would suggest... if you're a soda drinker, give it up now! Will be so much easier the sooner you do it. And take the remaining months you have educating yourself as much as you can about this complete life change. You got this!!
