I walk 5-7miles a day 5 times a week. I think that is the reason it is falling off so quickly. Just this week, I lost 5 lbs in 3 days, but then again I walked 20 miles in those 3 days.On 05/16/2019 at 07:43, AZhiker said:
What is your exercise routine like? I have lost fairly quickly, too, but I exercise a lot (walking hills, stairs, weights) - something I could never do when I was heavier. My joints just couldn't take it. But now I am afraid NOT to exercise. What are you doing? And super congrats on your progress. Make a ticker for us to follow!
How do I make a ticket? Would love to know! -
Since starting my preop diet, I have lost 54lbs. 54lbs in 9 weeks just seems insane to me. I’m super proud of myself bc I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the surgery, but I still worry I’m losing to quick. Anyone else had this concern?
Here are a few progress pics:

I am 4 weeks post op and currently on purées. I did great the first 1 week on purées, but everything I eat now irritates my small intestine or goes right thru me. I had gastritis one week after surgery, so I’m learning my system is extra sensitive. I have tried the following: yogurt, cream of wheat, sweet potato, oatmeal (won’t do that again or mashed potatoes), tuna salad, broccoli cheddar Soup. Do y’all have any ideas of what other bland foods I can try? I was doing so well, but now this.
Thanks for any feedback! -

Girl you are rocking it!! I’m on day 6 of liquid diet and down 11lbs. Surgery is the 25th. I hope I drop 20lbs as fast as you. I also started 40lbs heavier.

My first appointment was Jan 18th and my RNY is scheduled for Mar 25th. My insurance only required a psych Evaluation and one Dietician appt. My surgeon required an endoscopy, at home sleep study, and stress test.
Best of luck to you and this journey to getting your health back. -
Hey everyone! I just got my gastric bypass surgery date for March 25th. I have my preop appt March 19th, so I will go ahead and start the liquid diet then.
I live Dallas Texas, 31 single mom with an amazing 9 year old daughter. I can’t wait to lose this weight that has been holding me back from so many things in life. I think the thing I look forward to the most is playing with my daughter and jumping on the trampoline.
My beginning stats are 5’5 and 295-297.
I wish y’all the very best and I can’t wait to see how far we all come. We are about to embark on the best journey of our lives. -
23lbs in two weeks is awesome! I hope I have the same success.

Well I just confirmation my request for Duodenal Switch was denied because my BMI is not 50. I’m at 47.3 so I would need to gain like 16 lbs before they would approve me. It’s ridiculous and I’m not gaining 16lbs. So I am going with my backup plan of the Gastric Bypass.

I see the pre-authorization on the BCBSTX app but it won’t show me the status. I guess I will call Monday. I’m just anxious to know the verdict. Fingers crossed we both know soon.On 02/13/2019 at 11:44, FatGhoul said:
I have BCBSTX, too, and was just told my authorization was submitted today. They said insurance is allowed to take up to 15 days from today to approve or deny. I have heard of some people getting an approval in as little as 4 days but I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

“The only way out is through.” Someone shared this with me last year and it really resonated with me.

I enjoy watching the show too. Have y’all every wondered why they aren’t having the DS performed? Granted I haven’t seen all the episodes, so maybe they have performed this procedure.

My moment was when I couldn’t buckle my seat on a flight and being too embarrassed to ask for a seat belt extender. So I sat the whole flight with my arms across my belly in hopes the flight attendant wouldn’t notice. I also haven’t been able to play and chase my 9 year old like I use to. I have gained 45-50 lbs since May 2018 due to bipolar medications. Now I am the happiest and most content I have ever been in my whole adulthood. So I am ready for my outside to match how good I feel on the inside.

Thank you all for your feedback. I will practice my patience and just wait it out.

My paperwork was submitted to BCBSTX last Monday the 4th, but wasn’t showing in their system till Thursday. I called Friday to make sure they had all the paperwork and they confirmed they did. The customer service representative told me it could take 7-10 days for an approval. Fast forward to Monday and I decided to call and check on the status. I was then told it could be 15 business days. So my question is this, should I be calling everyday? Do they show record of every time I call? I am anxious about getting my approval, but I also don’t want to delay my approval by calling everyday.
Thanks in advance for any feedback!! -
Thank you so much! I had my EGD today. I can’t believe how quickly things are falling into place. On 01/25/2019 at 08:09, WeGettingThere said:

First comment ever!! I met my surgeon on Jan 18th and did my Dietician appt and Psych Evaluation this week. They will submit for insurance approval either tomorrow or Monday. I was told surgery would happen no later than the end of March. I already have my endoscopy and stress test scheduled.
I have BCBSTX and my insurance only requires one appt with the Dietician and a Psych Evaluation.

Today I’m officially down 70lbs in 3 months and 9 days. I struggle with bipolar and this progress is what keeps me going each day. Mental illness does not discriminate.
