blueroses78 got a reaction from Hrsnjs in Just Sleeved
We are surgery twins! I’m also from WV :). It’s normal. I felt the exact same way. It’ll get better too. If you need to chat, drop me a line.

I'm so glad somebody else has posted about this because I wasn't sure if I was imagining it. I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and my skin has been SUPER dry since my surgery. I've had to start moisturising daily as it's visibly dry and sometimes I look like I've got very mild sunburn about to peel.
I also seem to have developed REALLY itchy legs since surgery too.

I haven't experienced that, but it makes sense because you are ingesting less fats and oils.

I thought it was just winter and cold weather making me dry. Maybe not. I'm staying hydrated, now I need to stay moisturized

Same here. I went through a couple month phase about 3 months post op where my skin became super dry. I used coconut oil every night before bed. Good news is it passed, and now my skin is back to normal. I only moisturize my legs occasionally as needed.

By the way - I don't baby oil my face. I just use regular ol' moisturizer for that.

I've always had dry ski. It helps me a lot to put on baby oil just after my shower - just after I turn off the Water and before I towel off. It doesn't make me greasy at all, just moisturized. I also sleep with a humidifier by my bed and apply a LOT of lotion just before I go to sleep.

Part of me feels like I shouldn’t have. Another part of me thinks that once I feel normal that I’ll be fine.

I had a lap band placed in 2011. On the 9th of this month, I had it removed, a hiatal hernia repaired, and a sleeve done. I have so many mixed feelings about this whole thing. 10 days post op and wishing I had just had the band removed. Anyone else super emotional and not sure they made the right choice?
