Getting the SSRIs just right is always a challenge. It seems we have a lot of options in the U.S. but none of them seems to come without some downside. Your extreme side effects are definitely scary. I hope you find something that works just right so you feel better. So great to hear about the vanishing 4 pounds!

Congrats on reaching that AWESOME goal weight! I've got 35 to 40 lbs to go. You must feel super great.

He agreed that I might be experiencing a decrease in effectiveness and has prescribed me the liquid form. Unfortunately he's gone and prescribed the wrong dose, but I will have to fix that.
In other news, I have seen my bariatric surgeon today and he suspects I have a stricture. He said from everything I have described, (vomiting, avoiding Protein, etc) he is pretty positive I have one. However, before they do an endoscopy, I have asked for an Upper GI test to make sure. Bah humbug - I wish I could avoid this.

I reached 150 this morning, which was my original goal weight. Before surgery I thought 150 was unrealistic and that I would be satisfied with 170. Now I've adjusted my goal weight down to 140 and am quite confident of reaching it. (I weighted 127 when I went into the Army!)
In reference to the body dysmorphia comment, I still think of myself as fat, and I'm shocked every time I see myself in a mirror or a shop window. I wonder whether that ever goes away.

I’m going to be flying solo for the first time post-surgery this coming Friday.
I’m looking forward to not stressing about how much I’m going to spill out over into the next seat. That’s the thing about carrying a majority of weight in hips/thighs... cant suck those in and take up less space.
Fingers crossed this time I will actually be able to see the edges of the seat on either side of my thighs.

Hubby took the week off last week and we went to Rainbow's End (as close as you can get to a themepark here in NZ.) Last time we went would have been about 2 years ago. The rides were hard for me, I had constant anxiety about my weight and I didn't do any of the extreme ones. Back then, we decided to try the fear fall just before we went home. Yeah... I was so big I couldn't fit in the seat [emoji22] It was super-embarrassing having the ride guy trying to squish the harness down on my too-fat body.

Well this time, I not only fit, but my anxiety was under control and I managed to zoom around the park and do all the big rides with hubby... some more than once! Pic of the fear fall for reference [emoji28]

Now I just got to find the time and money for that spa day and seeing the otters! [emoji16] Hehe!

Maybe next time just assertively order the item off the children's menu rather than asking if you can. I did that at Chilis (got the kids' quesadilla). I got an odd look, but I don't think the waiter wanted to say no, you can't do that. I am guessing it's more of the waiter's decision than the restaurant's policy most of the time...of course I've only done it once so I'll have to try it more often to see if what I'm guessing is true. And, of course, if you are doing takeout, they won't ask if you are 12 or under. 🙂

It is so funny – – every time I lose weight (enough to make a visible difference or hit a benchmark number on the scale) I kind of go into shock about my “new body”. Then, about two weeks later, I adjust and decide that I want to lose more weight. I am at that point now. Finally pulled the trigger and bought some smaller clothes. Some of them are actually too small and it’s making me feel OK about continuing to lose. I am closing in every week on my goal weight. At one point I decided I didn’t even want to hit my goal because it almost seemed too thin. Everything is relative, isn’t it?!
Also, my stomach (skin) looks pretty gross. In my clothes it is pretty flat now but the texture of it is well - horrifying. I guess my only resolution will be plastic surgery....
Size 6 shorts and a small T-shirt. Both new! I am proud of my new body and rocking it! I am 14 pounds away from my original goal weight of 100 pounds. Let’s gooooo!

I rarely even order anymore. In fact I don’t go out to eat very often either. It took my husband a few months of going through the same exercise to realize this. I asked him to just let me split a plate with him he never wanted to. I think after seeing me waste meal after meal he’s finally coming around. I think we’re going to try to go out to eat this week and I will see if I have any success talking him into sharing with me!

My best friend turned 40 recently. We celebrated with a trip to Fogo de Chau, a Brazilian steak house where they bring out all the meats on skewers and slice them onto your plate. I love this place! I had to be very selective on what I ate. My favorite thing there is the Parmesan crusted pork medallions. To die for!! The place is $50 a person but if you bring proof of bariatric surgery it’s half off. Still ate no where near $25 worth of food but I didn’t care one bit. It was amazing! Nice to still be able to enjoy things like this. I just don’t leave feeling miserably overstuffed anymore.

Yep! NSV = non-scale victory 🙂 Because sometimes it's more important to keep track of things that feel better than just a number on a scale! Especially when mental health things come in to play -- can't measure those improvements on a scale.< br />
Super important for me right now, because I once again haven't lost anything since 28 June which is, what? About a week and a half? I know from weight tracking in fitbit that I have little 'stalls' or slow downs like, around twice a month. This has been the longest, and I keep going up and down about 2-3 pounds. But I'm not too worried, because soon enough I'll probably lose again and I'll be like 'oh, fudgesticks! I don't wanna be just skin and bones!' Lol.
This surgery totally stuffs with your brain, I swear.
All the best for your upcoming move, Recidivist! I hope you have a pleasant, as-least-stressful-as-possible journey! 🙂

NSV is non-scale victory. Like maybe your numbers haven't dropped this week, but your clothes feel better, you can sit comfortably in a seat that you couldn't before, someone compliments you,etc...

I can imagine how much that toe hurts. I've done that. You have to hobble everywhere. Amazingly, despite the ice cream and corn dog, I did not gain any weight! In fact, for some reason the scale has not gone up once since the surgery. I have been on the slow and steady side of weight loss.

I have to say how happy I am to be able to fit into 'normal' sizes in some shops now. I feel more like myself and I am wearing dresses for the first time in years! I have NO regrets with this surgery. Despite all of the issues, I am very happy with the continuing results.

Hey everyone! My gastric bypass was on 2/5. I had a rough month in May for weight loss. I guess my body just needed some time to adjust. Weight is coming off again, thank goodness. My Hair loss is astounding. Hope it stops soon. I have gone from 268 the day I started my pre op liquid diet to 207. I will be half way to my goal in 5 more pounds!! I have gone from an “extremely obese” BMI of almost 48 to now just “obese” at 37. I’m getting to where I want to be. I’m not one of the fast losers but that is ok.
Picture is this morning and October 2017 where I was around 250 lbs (5’3”).

I have an interesting NSV, as pointed out by my husband... I was going 90 in a 75 (I don't normally do this, but the scenery was amazing and I got distracted!) and the State Trooper let me off with a warning!
