Ok, so I bought a pineapple at costco the other day (they were on sale!) and made 2 HUGE batches of pineapple Water.

I tried it hot, but seem to prefer it cold, so I poured the pineapple Water into all these empty kombucha drink bottles we had and they are taking up a good portion of the fridge with them. I probably have about 3-4 weeks worth. Yikes.

I'm on day 3 of drinking it (1 bottle a day) and don't see any swell decrease, but I have been waiting for my period to come so there is that...

*crosses fingers and hopes for the best*

P.S. I made the mistake of eating some of the actual pineapple an got a really bad dumping episode.

P.P.S. Ingredients: Pineapple rind, pineapple core, ginger root, cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, turmeric, five spice, cayenne, erythritol-stevia blend.

It looks delicious! I need to try it with the turmeric and star anise. I really hope it works for you. :)

    I heart chicken wings.

Though I can't seem to make them at home very well. I can't get the breading right...

Yours look YUM though...(blue cheese or ranch dip?)

Thanks! I love wings too! My favorite way to eat them is on the grill, but cooking them with coal not gas. Once cooked I top them with jalapeños 😍😍😍😍

For the ones last night I didn’t do any breading. I pressure cooked them, dried them with a paper towel, then air fried.

I made wings for lunch today a little differently. With these I seasoned them, added a good amount of mustard (yellow and Dijon), then I lightly coated them with flour and air fried. Instead of brushing with oil I used a zero calorie olive oil spray.

Here’s the before and after. Oh and blue cheese always. I don’t like ranch ... at all lol. I ended up serving some blue cheese with today’s wings but realized them didn’t need it.

Interesting, I've only seen/heard the pinwheels called Duros

Adding on the Chicarron in Mexican food, it is very often fried, just like a Pork rinds or crackling, but can also be braised, and used in tacos etc..

Ive heard of duros too and the longer version, chicharrones de harina.

When i went on vacation to Mexico city I forgot what I learned going to my friends house and ordered chicharron street tacos. It was braised jiggly pork skins in sauce. I had to give it to my boyrfriend because I hate pork skin 😥

Haha, technically, chicharron is fried pork skin, fat & meat (think crispy fried pork belly). Sometimes its called cracklins, I think. (Different from Pork rinds which is just the skin and kinda puffy like a cheetoh)

It gets a bad rap as being super unhealthy due to its super high fat content (but really, sugar is waaaaay worse for you than fat is). I wouldn't recommend eating it during weight loss phase though, as its quite high in calories and not very filling. It does have a good amount of Protein, but still...there are better choice if you are trying to lose weight.

I find it a suitable snack in my own maintenance diet: decent Protein, virtually no carbs....and sooooo yum.

    @MusicalKate13

What @ms.sss said lol But I will add that the meaning of the word "chicharron" varies per country. Here's an example:

A few years ago one of my friends invited me over her house to eat. She said she was frying up chicharron so I skipped the dinner my parents offered me to eat at her place. Ill add that my friend is Mexican and when i arrived at her house I was devastated because for Mexicans, chicharron is just the pork skin/pork rinds, no meat at all. She made the Pork rinds and these pin wheel things made out of flour. They call the pin wheels chicharron as well.

For Peruvians, chicharron is mostly meat. Basically fried pork chunks with no skin and a little fat, sometimes including the bone. For salvadoreans, chicharon is similar to the Peruvian version but it gets shredded. For Colombians, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, and I believe Filipinos, chicharron is the pork belly with fat, crunchy skin, and meat.

And then theres chicken chicharron, calamari chicharron but thats a whole different thing lol

    Here are those pinwheels

Oh, of all things that are glorious in my world it's chicharron (meat AND fat!!). And this pic is of the honest to goodness fresh stuff *drool*

Now I have to go buy some pork belly and make some. The packaged stuff currently in my pantry has officially lost its lustre.

😂 it’s very glorious! You sound like my stepmom. She’s addicted to chicharon, including the crunchy skin.

i might need to buy some to make myself too! I forgot how much I missed it. Maybe air frying could work?

  6. You guys give me so much inspiration and hope that one day I’ll be able to shop and not have to worry about fitting into something. I’m loving everyone’s outfits!

Lengua is another super lean meat! Though I will only buy it prepared, I can't bring myself to handle it otherwise!

I dont mind buying it and cooking it myself. For some reason it really doesnt bother me. Nothing like making homemade tacos de lengua or stews with it!

I'm curious what products you'll use as a substitute. I always think it's a bit complicated (and most likely doesn't taste the same) when having to use substitutes.

I used two Pinterest recipes and I was hesitant to make them too but they came out fluffy! The banana was more fluffier and bread like than the pumpkin though. @GreenTealael is a true baker so she might have some good suggestions.

WONDERFUL! Looks Wonderful! And yes I used to blend oats to make a flour when making baked goods after VSG. I may start again.

Awwwwww, I promise I will eventually just get a head of lettuce and make the wraps -I'm just using things I have on hand for now

Looking forward to it! I tried wrapping chicken in lettuce and it looks like a mess compared to yours lol

My husband tried to trick me into eating this once and the texture just made me gag. Lots of interesting foods are normal depending on where you are from. My dh is Peruvian and they eat guinea pigs. I don’t care to eat them, but the ceviche is delicious.

Im also Peruvian and have tried guinea pig before. Its ok, im not the biggest fan of it, too many bones for my liking lol

I guessing you can blend tripe but I dont think it will taste as good. People who like tripe usually like the texture and you would be taking that away.

oh and yeah ... ceviche is life! 😁

This thread is exactly what I’m looking for. I’ve always battled depression with appropriate treatments, but this is a new level I haven’t experienced. I think what is so bad is the weakness/fatigue I have daily even with getting in Vitamins and short walk around the house. But, I’m also struggling with the soft food stage. I’ve only been able to tolerate cottage cheese and a super tiny amount of wet ground beef with cheese. Everything else comes up even if I chew to apple sauce consistency. (I can tolerate apple sauce though). :/. I’m 5 weeks post GS and would appreciate hearing similar stories and/or encouragement.

I wasn’t able to tolerate anything. I was lucky if I could get Water down. I ended up living off of watermelon for 3 months straight. There was no such thing as Protein at the time. It will improve though. Your body is probably still in a state of shock like mines was. Time is all you need ❤️

    OMG - GIMME!!!!

FYI - I jumped on the chia seed pudding bandwagon. I made it with optimum nutrition choc extreme Protein Powder and unsweetened coconut milk. It's legit way better than I expected, and SUPER easy.

Yum! Good idea!💡 I really love it 😍 but my boyfriend says all the little gel balls creep him out every time he opens the fridge lol

  13. dinner last night and lunch today. Causa rellena with three different cream's. The yellow is huncaina which is made from a yellow pepper, the red is Rocoto (another pepper) and the green is called ocopa which is made from Peruvian black mint. The actual causa is basically layered yellow potatoes that have been mashed with more yellow peppers and lime. I layered it with tuna and avocado. Felt like getting a little fancy with the plating lol

I was only able to eat half of the red one plus a few shrimps. Super filling!
