A lot of people have trouble finding a balance that works for them. Especially when they are tempted constantly, so you're not alone and at least you're aware ❤

    **************************************

I personally had to learn (mostly during losing phase) :

    Not every celebration meant eating

I didn't have to eat celebratory foods because it was a celebration

Protect my journey from negative influences

Eat what I wanted/needed (on plan) vs what's expected

I could handle a single indulgence not a days worth

People in my life can conform to my food standards too vs always conforming to theirs

A stall is a setback but not a failure

    There's no going backwards

    **************************************

    You got this ❤

Thank you sooo much for this! Perfectly worded and like @Deedee12 said, it was something I needed to hear as well!

A lot of these really stick out to me like:

"I didn't have to eat celebratory foods because it was a celebration."

"Eat what I wanted/needed (on plan) vs what's expected."

"People in my life can conform to my food standards too vs always conforming to theirs."

All things I'm currently struggling with. I definitely need to learn that celebration one! When I started this journey I told myself that when its a birthday or celebration I would indulge a bit but I'm beginning to see that rule wasn't the best idea. I didn't realize how many parties there actually are and at this rate i will be eating crap every few times a month!

Honestly I’m not sure if this is the best strategy or not.
Going all liquid diet might lead to feeling deprived and making poorer food choices later.
Instead, forgive yourself that piece of cake and make a food plan for the next 2 days and stick to it like glue!

Also, have an honest convo with yourself on why you’ve pre-determined that you’re going to have cake.
    Why is it already decided???

You might be right but I just can’t seem to find a balance. The last few weeks I was barely eating a thing and then last weekend I go out to eat and my hunger came back full force.

i wasn’t dying for cake but it was there and I was still hungry after my meal so I said what the heck.

I’m going to try packing more Protein and lay off the potatoes for a while. I’ve been eating them all week and I don’t think it’s doing me any good. Potatoes.... and rice have always been my weaknesses :(

I wish I didn’t get so tired of eating the same thing. Back to the drawing board for meal prep!

  3. Why did I accept the piece of cake when I know I’m going to be eating more cake this Saturday for my bfs bday 😩

I think I’m going to go on a liquid diet and have 3 fairlife Protein Shakes a day and if I’m hungry a small salad. I’m on week two of stalling and I don’t want to make it a month of no weight loss. Has anyone done a liquid fast post op? Sorry if I’m posting in the wrong place!

Don't get caught up chasing the full feeling. Eat the prescribed quantity per meal that's appropriate for your stage of healing. You've not posted any info about yourself, so it's hard to tell how far out you are. I'm 2 years out today and I still measure my food and weigh it! I could eat more than I should.

And my surgeon said today that you CAN stretch your stomach out by eating too much food at meals...

Good to know! But what if you're not full? could you still do damage? Im assuming if you're not overeating then you're okay...

Okay, so your picture reminded me that I invited BFF and her kids to come over tonite to help polish of some ice cream I've been impulse buying the past several weeks. Just went to the freezer to see if we have enough for everyone.

Um, I guess the answer is a resounding YES.

(man, I did not know we had accumulated this much...i totally forgot about the Haagen Dazs, it was in the back)

Wow that is a lot! Good for you for trying to get rid of it!

I got my eyes on that Haagen Dazs 😋

Is there a reason for wishing you lost more pre-op? I am just curious. I don't plan on slowing down, but my mother did just send me some girl scout Cookies, so I am definitely going to have another stall for a bit if I eat any. 😅

I feel like if I lost more pre-op it would have helped me get to my goal faster. I'm aware we have a honey moon stage and after that the weight loss usually slows down so that's whats concerning me now.

I'm not in a rush to lose but it would have been nice to start at a lower weight like most folks on here. I've already lost over 100 but i have another 100 to lose which is a lot. I dont see a lot of people on here who started over 300 lbs

Ahhhhh girl scout cookies..soo good yet soo bad! I feel you lol Im currently staring at a batch of brownies one of my coworkers brought it :(

I actually just searched things online... if I'm craving something in particular, I'll google bariatric recipe for blah blah blah and print out the ones I find. I have a 3 ring binder FULL of stuff that I love that is super healthy and high in Protein made specifically for bariatric people.

And I also have the cookbook above- it's got pretty good stuff in it, too. I've tried a few of the recipes and they turned out great! :D

Ill usually do the same! Ill google or go on Pinterest. Lately Ive been cooking dishes I would normally eat pre op and making them vsg friendly.

  8. Same! if he has a cold he will sound sick but when someone asks him if hes sick he will make himself sound wayyyy worse. Then he starts coming up with other symptoms he thinks he has 🙄

Girl... Don't even stress about a little rice if you can help it. I don't even like rice (shhhhh its a secret) and i ate what was on my roll because its is not life or death (for me anyways) and will not make me want more

If rice is problematic for you, still don't stress, next time request the do not add rice to the sushi 🍣

Thanks! And good idea I didn’t even think of ordering that way. I was going to order Sashimi but I had too much food already.

I’m working on not beating myself up over something so small. It’s been worse because I’m stalling but I guess I just gotta stick to the plan.

  10. @GreenTealael I had a Japanese lunch date today too! Your food looks delicious!

My entree was chicken Katsu don. I substituted the rice for a salad but I didn’t touch it and ate half a bowl of miso Soup. I also had one piece of sushi (the one with the spicy mayo on top), a few bites of sips of my bfs veggie soup, and two bites of negima from the bento box. Stuff for the whole day!

I feel a little bad about that one sushi piece because it had rice but it’s one and I’m trying not to beat myself up.

  11. Time to play catch up. Went to the Cheesecake Factory for Valentine’s Day and ordered the chicken Madeira.

I also am pretty proud because I had one piece of chocolate the whole day and a couple bites of the bear cookie

i think you were right @FluffyChix about being in deep ketosis because the day after this meal I woke up soooo hungry! I think it was the mashed potatoes.
