GALS who started their journey over 300 lb+<br /> +

The stalls are bound to happen, especially after you lost so much weight. 107 pounds in 6 months isn't just anything. Im hoping to lose 100 as well by my 6 month mark. Congratulations!

    Food Before and After Photos

I just finished watching the whole video and its crazy how info varies between doctors. I was told to not do any of these myths, except the carbonation. My surgeon and dietician said that doesn't stretch it just all depends on whether I tolerate the gas or not. Its definitely something to think about, but you're right. I won't always be able to eat food i cook so I guess its another skill I need to learn. So many things i need to learn! lol my list keeps getting bigger and bigger.

    Food Before and After Photos

True, I just don't won't to sabotage myself so I tend to over think everytime I eat something that I bought or didn't cook. I didn't even think about how my body would react if I ate normal bread. Hopefully now you are able to eat whole grain carbs here and there. I have a mini fridge on my desk where I keep fairlife milk but maybe I need to keep an emergency meal in there. Thanks!

    Food Before and After Photos

Yes! I absolutely cant stand it especially when its unplanned. As of now I try to avoid it as much as possible but this Sunday I do know Im going out for breakfast with the fam. That should be easier since i can just get plain eggs. Thats good to know, thanks. Ive been paranoid about stretching. And I just realized i spelled roux wrong smh.

    Food Before and After Photos

Forgot my lunch bag at home so I was forced to buy something at the cafe downstairs. Salads looked like they were going bad so I ended up with chowder. Can someone tell me why I felt immensely guilty while eating it?? I felt like I was cheating or something. Maybe because i dont know how its made and whats in it? The closest thing I can compare it to is Chupe de Camarones which is a Peruvian milky shrimp and seafood soup (see google pic below). I know thats made with evaporated milk but chowder im guessing a heavy cream with a rue?? Omg as I continue writing this now I'm thinking I just had flour ... I dont want to stretch my pouch 😭 ALSO, i feel like every time I post my meal on this thread i write a novel of unneeded info or a paragraph full of questions so I apologize for that lol i can talk a lot in person... as well as overthink.

When did you guys start the gym?

Maybe I just need to dive in and try something hoping i like it. The way you were pre-op towards exercise is the way i am now. I hate sweating and I get out of breathe easily. Its crazy what a ton of extra weight can do. When I was younger I was a very active tomboy who loved sports and was good at most of them. I was the one picked first on teams and i didn't care about getting dirty. That's not me anymore. I'm 26 now (still young although i don't feel like it) and the weight changed me to the point where I too, barely walk. I would love just 1% of that confidence you have! lol it'd be a miracle if I was doing all the activity you do. Ill keep that strength training in mind. I know im going to have a ton of lose skin... its already starting 😕

    Food issues

Yes girl! I have zero issues now except for lamb (its too tough on my pouch, might wait longer) but trust me it will get better. During the first 2 months I couldnt keep anything down including protein shakes. I just got so sick and nauseated, it was awful. I tried to eat different things everyday. Some days i didnt eat even during pureed stage, other days I was able to hold something down. Ill be honest though, I think you need to just listen to your body and continue trying. I wasnt even able to hold water down because it made me sick too but for some reason I felt like I just wanted to try a fresh homemade juice so I did and I was able to keep it down! I did some fresh squeezed orange juice with a lot of water added to it and then tried a passion fruit juice I made from the pulp. I was finally able to get some fluid in me because I just listened to my body. As far as food, I tried something different everyday. I started with eggs but that didnt work, then tuna, tried protein shakes again, still nothing. I was throwing up left and right. I cant tell you the amount of different things I tried each day. I was literally living off of my glasses of passion fruit juice. I started getting a strong craving and a want to try watermelon, mind you I never really ate watermelon before surgery and to my surprise I was able to tolerate it! The watermelon helped me get more fluid in and feel better. Know that I did speak to my surgeon and dietitian before going the fruit route and they gave me the ok to continue it because it was the only thing my body wanted. They were more concerned about preventing me from dehydration then the protein. I couldnt even look at meat or protein shakes without gagging. They told me sometimes we just have to give the body time to normalize which is what I did. My body took 2 months to normalize, more time than the average, but I came out stronger. Just know you will eventually feel better and this is just a hurdle you need to go through. Hopefully you are not as bad as I was. Keep trying and keep listening. Im not saying if your body is wanting a pepperoni and cheese pizza to go for it, but run everything by your team and try things that are within reason. Good luck! ❤️ we are cheering for you!

    Going out to eat...

Not for me! Im struggling eating out lol Im not necessarily making bad food choices when I eat out but I struggle to find something good enough to eat and that im able to log in my food journal. I dont know what kind of salad dressings the restaurants I go to use so Im unsure of the calories. Also, im not always craving salad when I eat out so I have no clue what to get. I dont eat bread, rice, or pasta at all and I feel weird asking for ... let say a burger but with no bun. Ive tried asking once and OMG the look they gave me lol smh
  15. Wow! It sounds like you went through a whole wave of crap just to be able to keep your date. Im sorry that happened to you but Im also happy you are now approved! I cant imagine having doctors supporting you one moment and the next flat out tell you what your doing is wrong. I was always against this surgery from day one of becoming obese. The only reason why I did it was because I noticed I wasnt losing on my own, my weight just kept going up, and my family started getting concerned as well as my pcp. I should have done it years ago but my stubborn a** wanted to lose the "natural" way. Reading your story has made me grateful for my team of doctors and everyone else who gave me information on the surgery to help me make the decision on my own.
  16. No problem! I would think the only way would be eating foods high in protein and calories like ground beef or any beef really. I know what you mean though, its tough! On a side note, I cant wait to see all my august people get to their goal!

    That looks soooo good!
  20. Such an amazing victory! Super proud of my August people! ❤️
  21. You look amazing!! 😃
  22. It depends on your team. Everyone is told something different. I was told by my surgeon that 600 - 800 is good right now but my dietitian told me she wants to try reaching that 1000 calorie mark. As long as you're eating what you're suppose to and stopping when full you should be fine.
  23. It sounds like you're doing good but If your scared about hitting over 1000 calories I would replace items such as the string cheese with some kind of dense protein meal since its more filling. Is it meal ideas you're struggling with?
  24. Preach! We all mess up and when we do we just gotta pick ourselves back up again
