I need a byddy. Ft. Laud. Floundering alone!
-
I had mine for 9 years and got the revision. I eat small amts without difficulty. Losing weight very slowly.
-
Are you eating all Proteins? I just thought I would eat everything in smaller amts. but that doesn't work
-
No... Protonix made me go to the bathroom 10 x day . It is given like zantac for gerd after surgery. Did doc put you any new meds?
-
Are you on Protonix? Thats the gastric issue. I took it only 3 days.
-
I can eat 1600 a day easy. I need to go down to 1200. i don't do Protein Shakes. Is that my problem? If I drank moire I would not be able to eat as much right? I am a former bander and actually have enjoyed my sleeve allowing me to be more normal, which has backfired slightly. I am still losing but VERY slow. Actually none in 2 weeks. I eat carbs too. I need to do 2 Protein shakes a day and go protein only right? Can somebody repost the guidelines? My doc is very lenient and I don't have a NUT.

My surgery is scheduled for Thursday and my surgeon told me he will use a 40 on me. Says its really surgeons preference but he's found that there are less problems when the bigger one is used and the weight loss is the same.My Dr. Used a 36 and made it snug. It is not too tight but I have to work at the Fluid intake. Sometimes I wish it were tighter. I can eat a whole pack of oatmeal but am very satisfied. The first few times I seemed full on 1/2. But I am full on 2/3. Have to wrap my head around it. Still learning. When I overheat I hit the wall without a lot of warning and then feel miserable!

I think so. You will stay on track to healthy choices and not be hungry with small portions.
sleeve 4 me reacted to this -
What is the app? I cannot see it.

Everything would be good, except for this lousy hematoma attached to my left side. I hate it and I hate waiting to see if it will reabsorb on its own. That is what is expected. Nobody on here has had one it seems, but when I google it- it pops up for people with hysterectomies often. It is only mildly painful bit is like a small toy football in size. I guess it scares me.
-
A Hematoma. Will reabsorb. Since I am on antibiotics, I should be fine. No extra restrictions. Quite a relief.

I think you would do great. I have the ok to advance my diet and it is so good to feel totally satisfied on a 1/4 c. chicken salad and not want more. I love it. That raging hunger and bottomless pit is gone forever. It will be so much easier to create new habits that wont be sabotaged by the hunger pangs. A yogurt is a great lunch, before I would have died of hunger! A diet failure always! So much more iin life to do besides filling that empty hole!

I had surgery 8 days ado and would be good except I developed swelling on lest side the size of a small football. The incision was red with serous drainage and heat, so I started on Keflex.. Incision better and less redness. No drainage after 2 days, but this bump of swelling still remains. Going to Dr. today.

I had the band since 2006. Lost 40 and gained it back after not being able to live either choking or loose. Never found the sweet spot. VSG does what the band is supposed to do. I am thrilled its out now. Was revised to sleeve on 1-31. I am happy the port is out and cannot believe how frrely everything goes down, yet am truly full on 2 oz. . I think the lap band should be taken off the market. I thought I would have had erosion or tons of scar tissue. The surgeon said no erosion and minimal scar tissue.I paid 11000. cash for revision and it is my new used car!

I am just wondering if these nausea Patches could be causing the dizziness and fatigue that other people have. I don't have nausea, but I sure did on the pain med and feared I would be a patient that would have to go get IV fluids due to dehydration on a weekly basis. The protonix is great and costco had 30 for $13.80 as opposed to Publix $122.
-
P.S , hardly had any scar tissue and no erosion from my lap band. Dr. Runmbaut did good but me and lap band never made friends.

Today is Monday! Surgery last Thursday. Thought I would die on Friday. Felt much better on Saturday and went home. Cleaned my house on Sunday. Drove my kids all over to sports and went to Target to get soft foods and chewable vitamins. Taking 1/2 the pain med dose at bedtime only. Feel fine. Had some Tums last night to relieve heartburn, but I am on pureed and had guac at the super bowl party. Drank Vitamin Water too! bI mean, I feel like resting, because resting helps to heal. I will rest most of this week, but the doc says cardio starts as soon as I can handle it- SLOW cardio. Yay!
Losing about a pound a day. Really need to up the Protein. Will get Syntha 6 tomorrow. That will encourage me cause it tastes great.Drinking 32 oz H20 and plan on doubling. Hard when there is no more gulping. This is way better than the lap band!
Very tired too, we do too much when we should lay low. We were cut on for goodness sakes. Lots of healing to be done!

Sorry for the typos. Using a slow iPad. Not used to it!

I had my surg on 1-31 and on 2-1. Texted my husband that I didn't thinking was gonna pull outta this one. I could ever imagin eating again and felt like I was going to die. I had ton of nausea and pain. I thought it would be easy like my previous lap band. Not so. This was a Big surgery.i got a shot ofToradol and it changed everything. I was overly sedated on the narcotic, so try not to take too much pain med. as long as Water goes down, you'lll live! People are stranded for long times and survive on water! Don't stress and greasy on yourself. Get off the narcotic it really messes you up. Trust me I will take a Tylenol 3 for adore throat but this time I thinkmit is sabotaging my recovery.

Cannot wait until today has passed and tomorrow is here! Please send positive thoughts and prayers my way...

Just remember you have probably added YEARS to your life. I am barely making it on my preop diet, but am getting better each day at being strict. I know the misery since I had the lap band, but I seem weaker after all; these years. I just have to remind myself of the miserable arthritis pain and lack of mobility and look forward to a healthier me. Good luck!
If there was a Class Action Lawsuit against the band....
