  1. Hi Ladies! I'm 2 months post op and have the yeast infection from hell. I went to a Little Clinic close to me (not my PCP or surgeon) and they gave me 2 doses of prescription Fluconazole PLUS I did a round of Monistat ... Almost a week later and it's still here! I'll call my PCP tomorrow but I thought I'd check here to see if this has happened to anyone else? I thought maybe my body wasn't absorbing the medication like it normally would?

23yr relationship. Im now 42, i cook every night, flowers weekly, love and adore my wife more every day. Found out she has had multiple online affairs and now wants a divorce, “I’m just not attracted to skinny guys” she said. Ouch. So its a human thing not just a man thing.

We have a 9 and 2 year old.

    Biggest 440lbs
    Day of surgery 404lbs
    Today 205lbs

Ugh. Humans really do suck sometimes! You get honorary membership to our Justice League!

Freeze a Protein Shake and pretend it's ice cream!!! You don't need that jerk, you are going to move on and find someone who loves the whole package. 😍 My ex told me I was getting too fat (right after having a baby!) and he left me. Best damn thing that could have ever happened!

Love the ice cream idea and I so needed to hear this right now - thank you!

  4. I am so sorry. But let me tell you. Surgery is a tool and you get out of it what you put into it. I am down 120lbs since March 22, 2018. Changed my eating habits, portion sizes, no alcohol and nothing fried. I walk a lot but not exercise in the gym but want to start that to tone up. Prove him wrong! Do it for you and no one else. Be the best you for you! Take care... let him see what he is missing out on
Thank you for your kind and wise words! [emoji177]

  5. I've never owned a dress as an adult or even teenager and I'm 38. Haven't been swimming and enjoyed it since I was a kid. Every day of my life I've been self-conscious in some form or fashion about my fat. I can't wait for the day when that's no longer an issue. And when I can feel pretty for once and believe it myself.
Love this - I'm 37 and feel the same way!

  6. [mention=354306]Skc150[/mention]: my surgeon makes ppl wait 6 months after Band removal so their stomach can heal, so as not to staple the delicate tissue left after scar removal. She also believes that the time will allow our body to go back to normal so the sleeve will feel like a new WLS. My insurance changes in January, so she agreed to let me have the sleeve surgery in dec
    That makes sense - thanks!

  7. I'm so sorry. But good for you for continuing to care for yourself during this. Maybe screaming into a pillow (careful not to blow your sutures). Write down what you're feeling? What about a meditation? Kaiser has some good ones on various topics - anger/forgiveness, grief, stress, relaxation, etc at the link below.

I couldn't get the link to work for some reason, but I Googled it and you're right - they have a lot of really good options. I have a journal I've been writing in but I haven't tried meditation yet - thank you!

  8. Sounds like you need the support of friends and/or family right now, if that isn't possible do some things that keeps both your hands and mind occupied. You have probably cried a few tears by now, but if you need to do more don't hold back.
Thank you! Definitely shed some tears and I'm sure there are more coming. My family and friends were actually so against my having the surgery that I didn't tell anyone. They know I had the LapBand removed - just not that I also had the sleeve done at the same time.

  9. Sorry you are going through this.
No brilliant ideas. Maybe you could go and watch a movie, one that you want to see but know that he would have hated.
Get together with friends . Go shopping.
That's a good idea - with 2 sons I always get outvoted and always have to see the super hero movies! Now to convince myself that popcorn, soda, and Junior Mints are not requirements for seeing a movie ... [emoji849]

  10. 6 months ago I decided with the support of my husband to start the long insurance approval process for gastric sleeve surgery.

5 months so my husband of 12 years informed me he was no longer attracted to me didn't think the surgery would work, and wanted a divorce so he could "live his true life."

The last few months have been unreal but I decided to go forward with the surgery even though most everyone recommended postponing it. I had the surgery last Tuesday (12/11) and my divorce was finalized today (12/17).

All I want to do is eat ice cream and drink wine, but since that is obviously no longer on the menu, does anyone have some advice for how I can get through the next 24 hours? Drowning my sorrows in Gatorade and chicken broth is not cutting it!

  11. December 18th, and I cannot wait! I had my Lap Band removed on Aug 28th and waiting to heal before sleeve surgery (and hoping I don't gain too much weight while waiting!)
@Jendkopp, I'm curious why you waited to have the sleeve instead of combining the Lapband removal into one surgery? I had both procedures done on 12/11 and I do not envy you having the 2 separate surgeries. [emoji53]

  12. The one thing I've learned by reading through all these posts is that every single person is different!

I had my surgery the day before you. I was feeling terrible until I realized I wasn't getting enough Fluid and once I really focused on sipping constantly I felt much better.

I've been going out to run errands since Friday simply because of necessity. I just pin my JP drain inside my jacket and walk slow!

And as for meds, right now I'm taking liquid Tylenol every 8 hours. Starting tomorrow I'll try cutting back to every 12 hours but I'm a big fan of staying on top of the pain before it gets out of hand!

Hope you start feeling better soon!
