My manual and both dietitians say I should be at 400 calories a day and 800-1000 is the long-term goal by 8 months. I do feel more comfortable following my surgeon and dietitian's instructions, but I appreciate the offer.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend... you should listen to your doctor obviously (most of our videos say this). I've just dealt with hundreds of WLS peeps and never heard of staying at 400 calories. God bless you for being able to do that... 400 calories and almost all Protein - you are a saint..

Any way, this YouTuber is out! Seriously, blessings on you and yes... burn the scale... ha

ps Might change my user name to that!!

(quick note: the mayo Clinic foods diet says 1.5 cups of food a meal.. That will stretch your pouch.. I know, been there)

This is totally for my own sanity and not because I need a logical reply... but feel free anyways. I am 5 weeks out today and...

I HAVE NOT LOST A SINGLE POUND IN 8 DAYS AND WTF I AM EATING 400 CALORIES A DAY AND 100% ON MY DIET GIVEN MY ULCER SITUATION, AND DOESN'T THE HUMAN BODY BURN LIKE 4 TO 5 TIMES THAT AMOUNT OF CALORIES JUST SITTING AND DOING NOTHING ALL DAY SO WHAT IS THE DEAL, BODY??!??!?! WHO EATS ALMOST PURE Protein AND EXTREMELY LOW FAT AND CARBS AND DOESN'T LOSE A SINGLE POUND IN OVER A WEEK? AND YES I AM FRIGGIN' HYDRATED. GET REAL, BODY! DO SOMETTHIIINNNGGG.

Aight, I'm better. Not really. But UGH! I lost this much on Atkins. FMLLLLL.

    Just had to rant. Woooosssaaaa.

In your situation, I would forget about weight loss and focus on getting intake down. 400 calories is not enough and I'm not aware of any professional who would tell someone that. Please reach out to Addy or myself directly if possible..... We are 4-years out and help ppl for free.... I'm worried for you.

I agree but how do I resist the temptation of jumping on the scale?!? I tried putting the scale in an incovienent location and still found myself going through the effort to grab it.

Mind you I haven't had surgery yet so if these go against post-op rules or anything, I'm here to learn about it.

My store was out of Premier Protein vanilla, but these were right next door on the shelf so I decided, heck, why not see if they suck or not. These shakes are VERY VERY tasty, folks. Equally as tasty as Premier (if you like Premier). By themselves and in my coffee, holy cow  Both the vanilla and the chocolate. They claim to have 30g of Protein in 11oz....now, the TYPE of Protein might be the kicker. It's not whey protein isolate.

**FYI** Fellow Keto Peeps (if there are any here):
If you're eating strict ketogenic (i.e. Ketovangelist style), these shakes are NOT "keto legal" :840_x:
Dirty Ketonians, should be fine :973_ballot_box_with_check:
    LCHF/Atkins - obviously :973_ballot_box_with_check:

Great product - all I've ever used unless making my own - like my famous Pina Colada Protein shake!

  5. Addy had an ulcer as well... you're doing great if that's the case.. 400 calories is not enough to lose weight and stay healthy.... did they give you Carafate or Protonics?

Addy has a "Complications" video as well... sounds like it may help you. Friend, this is a dangerous place to be... you staying hydrated is a HUGE victory!

I would suggest you watch my YT video called "WLS STALLS SUCK"... I just broke a 4-week stall as I am 4-years out. I can assure you you need to increase calories, not reduced. Your body will not burn calories if it thinks you are starving. Search "Gastric Couple on YT... Joe

I have been sleeved and due to weight regain I am planning to have a bypass. I didn't loose as much weight as I had anticipated. My weight loss stopped at the six month mark. My sleeve has stretched considerably. I regret not having the bypass. The % of regain is less with the bypass, and from my research, people tend to loose a little more weight. Starting at the 3 year mark I have also had ongoing issues with GERD. Having said all of that, it is a very personal decision and there are quite a few things you need to weight up.

I had sleeve and wish I had Bypass..... Joe

Hi, I have a VSG scheduled for December but I'm still in doubt if I should go for a bypass!

    I'm 297lb -and 6.0 tall - BMI 39

I was sure about getting a VSG but my endoscopy exam has the following: light esophagitis / Barrett's Esophagus - GERD . To be honest I don't feel anything related to it but I read a lot of articles and comments that VSG is not good for who has reflux.

My doctor checked the exam and said would be ok proceed with VSG. I went to another doctor to get a second opinion, he saw my exame and right away said better get a bypass! Next week I will return to my doctor and talk again and might change to bypass.

What you guys think? Anyone had a similar experience?

Addy had bypass specifically for GERD she didn't know she had. VSG not an option and can make worse. See her "Complications" video on our YT channel.
