Pro Tip:. Get Gummy Fiber things. Far easier to digest, no mixing, tastes good.

I have Fiber Choice Fruity Bites. 2 gummies are 10 cal, 4 carb, 3 dietary fiber 1g sugar.

Also use Vitafusion Fiber Well. 10 cal, 7carb, 5 dietary fiber,

Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using BariatricPal mobile app

Thank you- once I am allowed gummies I will look into this- for now I am still stuck w/ powder....blek

  2. Just shy of 4 weeks post op....and everything has been going well so far. I'm still on soft foods and have been on plan mostly hitting my targets every day but well over 100 ounces of Water daily so I am not dehydrated. Only vomitted a few times and it was mostly cuz I tried to hoover my food and well...

So Saturday I carried a few grocery bags in since I was alone and put them all in one hand (probably over 5lbs) but not too heavy that i was in pain or anything. Saturday night I started with a little twinge/cramp/pain on my left side ...lower abdomen. FIgured coincidence but I also realized I hadnt had a good soft BM in like two days- and the ones I had were sort of pebbly and harder. So i started Miralax. Sunday...still a little pain but I had a BM but it wasn't soft and fluffy. Probably all the Protein and cheese I have been consuming! So I took another dose and today back to "normal" but...now the pain/twinges are also on the right lower side- basically in line w/ my belly button but these are more noticable and almost feels like someone squeezes every so often. Doesn't really hurt a lot but is for sure not comfy. I am on a PPI every day and I was okay'd to start coffee as long as use FF cream/milk. So i do have about 12 ounces of coffee most days with cream.....

Everywhere else I feel fine but now I am being a worry wort. I did call my dr's office and left a message for a nurse. I am mostly concerned if there is a blockage (but again no vomitting and I can eat okay) or an ulcer but I dont really have those symptoms. Sooooo any thoughts? other than wait for the dr to call :) TIA!

  3. I have the WW Scale- I just get one it, kick it, and then get off LOL

But it does the trick, I don't use the fancy functions with it at this point. Probably won't ever but it was a good value. Either 20 or 30 bucks.

  4. This was my lunch but really was more like a late lunch snack because my Breakfast shake was later and so filling....

parm crips ( Whole Foods) dipped in mashed avocado. I bought a few convenience items that I can occasionally have if I don’t want to cook or want a huge meal. Plus my son and husband like the mashed avocado cups. These aren’t guacamole but similar and delicious.

No after - I had .75 ounces of crisp (about 4) and one container of avocado.

I had RNY about a month before you and I've had regular Peanut Butter with no problemo. It dilutes and works itself right down the pipes just fine. It just has lots of fat and calories but shouldn't be a problem in moderation.

Exactly why I won’t have it often. It was a welcome change today though. I just have to adjust what I eat the rest of the day to keep my fats lower. Calories - still not an issue because I can’t eat a ton, but I don’t want to have too much fat.

I buy natural Peanut Butter only (Laura Scudder) and since it is only peanuts and salt with no additives. I enjoy it on some celery occasionally or just on a spoon. I probably did not introduce it until 4 months post op or so and it does not cause me any problems.

Thank you. I will definitely hold off before I have it plain but it hasn’t bothered me yet being mixed in with something. It won’t be an every day thing though for sure.

  7. Hi all,

I am wondering what other’s plans tell them about nut butters. Specifically freshly ground ones that are just that...no additives. I made a shake today with half a banana, a premier chocolate shake and around 1 TBSP of ground Peanut Butter from Whole Foods. Seems to be fine so far and everything I have read is conflicting but seems to warn against just eating peanut butter and the like due to its stickiness. I know it’s a little higher in fat and carbs but I am sick of shakes and needed a change. Just curious - I can also ask my dietician but it’s the weekend and I don’t really want to bother her about peanut butter :)

    thanks!!

Siggi's is my preferred brand and I don't get those 0% fat ones. I go for the full 4% and in a pinch will accept the 2%.

Siggi's is Skyr, similar to greek yogurt, but not exactly the same. I find it thicker. The company uses all natural ingredients and they achieve a flavorful product with less sugar (not artificial sweeteners).

The only downside for me is the limitation in flavors. I can only routinely find 3 flavors: mixed berry, strawberry rhubarb, and blueberry. I love these, don't get me wrong, but I would like a little more variety. *Around Halloween and before Thanksgiving, I can find pumpkin. (BTW: it's absolutely great and I wish they'd offer it year-round).

I've tried a lot of yogurts in my weight loss journey (most of my adult life) and really refined my tastes in it with when I had the lapband. I can no longer eat "regular" yogurt. It's just too darn sweet. I went to greek years ago and have tried all the big brands. My fave in that category was Fage and if I can't find Siggi's, I will eat Fage.

My "go to" Breakfast is Siggi's. I add a few things to make it more filling: 1tbsp of unflavored Protein, 1tbsp of no sugar granola (for crunch and texture), and 1tsp chia seed. I eat it almost every day, only changing it up on the weekends.

Siggi's is great but I thought it was too high in carbs....do you not really watch carbs as much as sugar? This whole carb/sugar is a bit confusing to me. I have been trying to keep my carbs under 30g right now so if I have a yogurt with 10+ carbs i feel like that is jus too much- which is why i switched to the TWo Good- it only has 3g of Carbs and it tastes just as good to me as some of the other brands that are not sweet.

Thanks i am going to work harder on my Water intake....hopefully things will get better, today makes it officially one month since my vsg...was hoping for a loss

I think the same thing at times and then remember this is a process and won't happen overnight. Doesn't make it any easier, I know! :)

How long was your stall, i am going to push myself on the Water intake? Calories is a bit hard cause im still on puree stage and not everything really goes down well. Hoping when i see the doctor they allow me to go to the next stage and start working out. Just feels like this stall is going to last forever 😭😭

It was starting week two until Monday- Surgery was 1/30.....and now I am only losing about .5 lb a day but trying to eat more often - I try for 4 small meals but it really depends. I am full quickly and not hungry but I am trying to get 600 cals in but i do drink minimum 90 ounces of water but try to get more than that. I was drinking over 150 ounces a day pre op regularly though.

Hey All, so i had vsg on 1/22, and for the first 14 days weight was just coming off i believe i lost about 13-14 lbs, prior to the surgery during liquid pre-op I lost about 23lbs. But the past 16 days i have not lost a pound i am either at the same or it goes down/up one...and now my monthly vistor is coming so Im expecting a gain😭😭 not sure what im doing wrong i go in for my first month check up on Wednesday so im hoping they clear me to go to the gym. I am getting my Proteins in on most day, Water intake is a struggle still, before the surgery i was getting 72 oz day during preop and now i can barely get in 40 oz. Just dreaded this stall and scared that it wont end...i am sticking to 400-450 calories a day, dont really have an appetite which is great but eat to get the Proteins in. Just discouraged was hoping to be farther along. Not sure what to do

you are probably just in a stall but can you up your calories and Water a bit? Both seem low - definitely the water if anything- although you should follow your plan! I lost about the same and I am 3 weeks out from RNY- just came out of a stall though so we will see. I also lost the same pre-op as you in about a months time. Just hang in there!

Just the one can of spinach is all I'm really eating right now. I got tired of the other stuff not staying down but I will add a little bit as I go in the future.

Oh wow....sorry you were having such problems. If I ever see another Protein Shake again UGH. I am trying to avoid them. But I know some days I just cannot eat enough Protein and I have to drink one. But so far so good today- no protein shake shall be needed!! LOL......

I threw up three times so far , so I get the not staying down- but all three times I knew what I did. 1- brussel sprouts- while soft and delicious, I ate too fast and I thnk they were just too much to digest this early 2- string cheese not chewed properly and was sort of stuck and 3- just eating too fast and too much of dinner a few nights ago .....live and learn :)

I've been mostly drinking Protein Water and regular Water since surgery. The problem I've ran into with that is Constipation from the Protein Drinks. I just started adding about a half can of spinach twice a day and now it's all good. I get my Protein, water, Vitamins and now veggies to keep things regular. I have no hunger either, I just want to feel good and know I'm taking in what's necessary to be healthy. I'm sure the hunger will come back and I'll have to deal with that when the time comes.

So you aren't eating any food?

  14. Sooo not sure I am allowed to link to products- I am sure someone will yell at me if I cannot but this is what I have found since my post and I eat every day now.....It is a bit thicker and does have more of a greek yogurt tasted- but it isn't overly sweet and I love it. I still use plain fage for other things and will continue to do so...

They have a good selection of flavors as well.
