I remember that I got grumpy at times on my liquid diet. My husband took me out for walks when I got that way. It seemed to help. You can do it!! -

I am post-op day 5. I feel soooo much better than I expected to be feeling. Took Tylenol last nite for sleep. Nothing needed today. Got the gas under control(for now) with Gas X. Walked 7100 steps today. Tomorrow I’ll probably be exhausted. LOL -

I did a liquid diet about 20 years ago. Not fun but quick results. Is this part of your supervised diet in preparation for surgery? -
Hi Libby, I am 66 and am now 5 days post-op. I am feeling better each day. No longer need pain med except an occasional Tylenol.
-
Then I guess I’d better buy some stock in Gas X. LOL.
-
Thanks for the info about the gas x. It was in my instructions, but I had forgotten. The gas has been my biggest problem. I also have been compliant about walking. It is better just not gone. How long does it last or is it always an issue?

June 2019 Surgery Siblings!
jpeits52 replied to BulletWithButterflyWings's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello June Siblings! My RNY was yesterday. I didn’t know quite what to expect as my last surgery was 35 yrs ago. Very pleasantly surprised. The Bariatric unit staff were great no matter their role on this team. Got home this evening around 6PM. now having my last full liquid for the day. I was given a Scopolamine patch in Pre-Op yesterday AM. Will take it off tomorrow. So far no nausea. Have been walking as prescribed. Will be glad when all the gas is gone. 🤣🤣 -

Purpledva, I hope you are as excited about this day as I am. This whole process has been very long (8 months exactly). But everybody on this team has been so supportive. I know the Lord has his hand on all of us. 😀😀😀 -

I have a surgery date of June 3rd. I am 66 yo, married to a wonderful man who has been so supportive throughout this process. We have 4 grown boys, all happily married and 7 grandchildren. I have tried about every diet out there without success, so here I am!! I am excited yet nervous too. Looking forward to following along with all of your journeys as well. 😊😊 -
First of all, thank you for responding! I am also in Central Ohio. My surgery is Monday June 3rd. I am excited yet nervous. All prayers appreciated. Frustr8, glad to hear from somebody close to my age. I will be 67 in September. Glad to hear from those of you who have been there done that. 😀😀
