  1. The point was to post what you ACTUALLY ate to give others an idea and those exploring the procedure. If i wanted to look at food I would go on instagram. What did you actually eat?

    Can't handle protein shakes

Unjury readymade is the only thing I can handle. Order it and you can thank me later. I had massive anxiety about finding a shake I could tolerate. https://unjury.com/protein/ready-to-drink.html
  3. In general weight loss slows at an increasing pace as you get closer to goal assuming diet/exercise regimen stay the same. It is possible you are breaking a plateau though and experiencing a whoosh. Dont expect it to last more than 2-3 weeks max before you settle into your new range.
  4. Thats so cool and very happy you were able to achieve the same. I had a suit I bought in 2012 after losing 50lbs that I wore exactly 1 time. I kept it in my closet also with the hopes of being able to fit into it again but before i considered this surgery it was more like I was holding onto the past. Enjoy your vintage jeans they are all the rage these days
  5. Below is a chart of my weight loss progress. Some people are visual learners. Its been mentally very challenging for me as well as I approach goal but trying not to focus on the week to week and more month to month. This is something I was always searching for that I could never find so I hope others find it helpful.
  6. You have jeans that you haven't worn in 26 years? Oh my I would love to hear the story behind that. Why did you still have them were they all the way in the back of the closet type thing?
  7. 1. Actually realizing what full feels like for the first time in 57 years YES 2. Being able to buckle the airplane seatbelt without sliding the buckle to the very end YES - I have a video I sent my wife the first time I didnt have to use the extender... I never actually buckled it I would just tuck it like looked like it was buckled 5. Being able to easily zip last years winter coat and not having to buy a new one like the last few winters YES 8. Being "that person" at lunch that actually orders the salad with grilled chicken instead of the cheeseburger and fries or tortellini alfredo after eating half the bread basket This will never be me 10. Being able to sleep without waking yourself up with your own LOUD snoring YES
  8. Yesterday I had sushi for the first time since surgery it was also the first time having any rice since surgery. I was surprised just how filling even a tiny amount of rice was. I am able to eat about 6oz of food but rice really packed a punch even from a few bites. I rarely ate rice in the past but it was never something that I associated with being very filling.

Sneezing and Other Weird Signs Your Pouch is Full

I sneeze like clockwork when my pouch is full. This never happened before the surgery but its a very helpful reminder.
  10. I havent heard of any of the horror stories of substantial regain. If you dont mind sharing what happened? Why did you have the initial success but the subsequent regain. What was the issue for you? Ive heard of people gaining back 10% but never horror stories of gaining the entire amount back.

Surgery Prep - What was your must haves.

Unjury Readymade protein shakes. I had a lot of anxiety and agony finding a shake I could tolerate. I just finished one right now. Even 6 months out they are great meal replacements. Have never felt that nasty aftertaste associated with most proteins.
  12. Jake funny you mention this because its something I wanted to do as well and have it on my goals list. I am in NJ as well and done a bit of research on it.
  13. I was a walking super big gulp in all fluids. I have retrained myself to sip and not gulp but there are urges to gulp. Occasionally I will and the pain follows shortly.
  14. Had 6 month physical yesterday with my primary physician. Pre surgery I had high blood pressure, high liver enzymes, high A1C (Type 2 Diabetic), suffered regularly from Gout. All of these are now normal. My Test came back too high and my BUN/Creatine Ratio was too low. I was concerned that my test was too low! TESTOSTERONE, TOT.,S. This result is high 1303.0 ng/dL (249.0-836.0 ) BUN/Creat Ratio This result is low 9.5 Ratio (10.0-28.0 )
  15. I have always been terrible about consistently taking my medications so I am happy to be off them.
  16. Going to do another lab this week since the test numbers were off the chart. Doctor was not concerned at all with the low BUN/Creat Ratio.
  17. Hey skinny Glad you are home safely and on your way to recovery.

Gas pain or acid reflux. If you were not prescribed omeprazol call your doctor and get a script for it.

    Sushi - 6 Months out

I was a little concerned how i would handle the sashimi as medium rare beef is giving me problems
  20. I was sleeved on April 29 and tomorrow will be 6 months. I am down 100lbs to a weight I have not seen in over 10 years. Its really been quite effortless so far but the last month things have slowed. I still make poor choices and I dont suspect that will ever change but quantity is tiny and I generally think I have retrained my brain as to how much food to eat for meals. Ive achieved these results with basically zero exercise. I am not proud of that and I do think in order to get to the goal weight I am going to have to be more active. For now the goal is 225 but I do expect I will revise that lower.

    Liver cleanse weight loss

Low fat low carb diet for 1 week. I lost 20lbs

    Weight going up

This is noise/water retention. See my post from a few weeks ago about gaining 6lbs overnight. You will be laughing about this in 2-3 weeks.

    Is this too much food?

This is going to sound incredibly mean and I have toned this down since I originally wrote it. Are we really writing about an extra 1/4 of an avacado is too much? I mean seriously? At 3 weeks just make it 3oz of deli meat and you wont even want the avocado. Pay attention to what your body is telling you as your first guide.

    self conscious

@336Mike how much was your TT and how was the recovery from that compared to the bariatric surgery?

    carbonated drinks?

Beer is brutal 6 months out. I had one at a ball game with a client but it did not sit well. Champagne has a funny tingle but manageable. Soda is my kryptonite so I stay away.
