  1. My gripe is going #2 to lol. I've been constipated so bad and today was the worst. I had to go so bad but I just couldn't. Needless to say, my ass is hurting and raw after being in the bathroom for a half hour. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think it's all this Protein and lack of Fiber that's making me not go. I do not like it!!!

  2. WOOHOOO that's great! I'm doing really well. I've lost 22 lbs :) My pants are are much loser and so are my tops. I'm having problems with the Protein Drinks and the Vitamin. I need to call my NUT and ask for another one. I just can't stomach them. I basically get my Protein from the foods I eat. I can pretty much eat anything as long as I puree it or chew it up really good. I made sloppy joe's the other night. I ate a little bit of it, without the bun of course. It was delicious LOL. I'm trying to get the Water in but that is just too hard. I'm probably getting about 40-50 oz of water so not bad.

  3. Tomorrow I start my 4th week...I have lost 20pounds...I still cant eat ..so I mostly drink shakes Jello and sugar free pudding a little chicken noodle Soup but that's it... Yesterday someone brought a ambrosia salad..I served myself half a cup...I had maybe 3 spoons and my stomach began to hurt...so I decided to stay on liquid diet ..I can have egg whites but not too much...good luck

Sent from my SM-G892A using BariatricPal mobile app

I couldn't handle the liquid diet phase. I can't do the Protein Shakes. So I moved to soft foods to get myprotein. Still not getting the whole amount but I'm close. My problem is the Vitamin. I get sick when I take them. I bought a 3 month supply and now I'm stuck with them! Have to call my nut to see what else i can take. But I'm doing good with food. I've tried some spicy things, past sauce with zoodles pureed and i was good.

  4. This does look sooo yummy! Here are screen shots of the ricotta bake. I also have an awesome stuffed pepper recipe. I actually pureed it and it still tasted delicious! Cut 4 sweet peppers in half. Put in casserole dish. Use a pound of ground beef, or ground chicken or ground Turkey. Brown that and add some garlic, some Italian seasonings and some red pepper flakes to it. Thaw out about 4 oz. Of spinach. Put 8 oz of ricotta cheese in bowl. Mix in half a cup of parmesan or what you want and mix in spinach. Add all to meat mixture. Mix everything together and add to peppers. Then I put on top a small can of Tomato sauce with a can of tomatoes with green chilis mixed together. Then top with mozzarella cheese. Bake at 400 degrees for like a half hour. Omg it was sooo delicious!!! SmartSelect_20190117-095530.jpeg SmartSelect_20190117-095552.jpeg

  5. Has anyone gotten through this process while also using suboxone. I’m worried my surgeon will not allow it. When I first met him, he told me I would have to stop the medicine for 2 weeks before he could perform the surgery. It made me feel like he didn’t even understand what suboxone was - because if he did, he wouldn’t ask me to going into complete withdrawal. I’m hoping he will work with my prescribing doc, but it’s his Choice to make, and his only. I’m hoping someone out there can give me some hope because I’m starting to lose mine
If you're on suboxone for opioids like heroin I would definitely talk to your doctor! Stopping it cold Turkey IS NOT AN OPTION! You are on that for a reason and you might go back to using...which I hope wouldnt be the case if you just stop it! I am highly aware of opioids. I lost my brother almost 10 years ago and I do education speaking to schools about the dangers of heroin and opioids. I wish you all the best. Message me and I can get you in touch with someone who might be able to help you with questions and even getting off of suboxone!

  6. So Jewel (grocery store) by mrle had these to put in Water. Theres a root beer one and cream soda. The root beer tastes just like diet root beer but without the carbonation! There was also another one with cherry coke cause my favorite pop was cherry coke zero! It tastes ok but not as good as the root beer. Try them out...they are like 5 calories and sugar free 1547501266215.jpeg

  7. I am a month-post op, well 5 weeks probably and noticed that when I transitioned from fluids to soft foods that I was hungry every two hours. I can't each much at a time but I can eat often. I'm getting about 900 calories/day. No trouble getting in a variety of liquids including Gatorade Zero, Decaf diet peach tea, sugar-free flavored water, etc. I have been to the gym every day so far this year in 2019 doing 30 minutes of cardio and strength-training.
Where do you find decaf peach tea?? I'm craving iced tea so bad lol. I'm on the pureed stage but I've been just eating the food and chewing really good and not using a blender. Is this bad??

  8. Oh! Lol. I feel like I'm hungry often. I eat 3 meals a day but then I snack 2 or 3 times too. I'm not sure if I'm eating too many calories either. Is there a number I should try to stay around?
I get why you are worried I am too. Not sure what I should be eating or how much. I am also snacking a couple times a day. I think it's cause our stomachs are so much smaller that once we are full it takes a little bit for everything to digest then we get hungry again. I'm eating well though on my own and getting the Protein I need through food. I'm staying away from fatty foods. I did have a couple pieces of chocolate though to see if I could handle them and I could. I had chicken salad today for lunch and ate a little bit of it and I was sooo full! It's weird cause tuna I can eat more of it.

  9. I use MyFitnessPal. I was sleeved on Dec. 20th. I lost 10 pounds on the 2 week pre-op diet and only 9.6 pounds since surgery. I think your 18 lbs is fantastic. I don't know why I am losing so much slower than the rest of the folks here. I think it because I rarely get in 600 calories per day and not nearly enough Protein. I try each day but I can only eat what I can eat you know?

My nutritionist said to be drinking lots of Water. I wasnt getting the Protein though. She said that the more water the better cause it flushes the fat out. I'm not getting the 64oz of water but I'm close.

  10. Sleeved 12/26/18. Lost 14 lbs the first week but haven't lost anything in past week! So upset. I get the required Protein, but not the Water amount. I am just about to start soft foods tomorrow. I get more calories each day and up 600-700 now. I just keep waiting for the scale to move but it has not for 6 days. I thought I wasn't getting enough calories but the first week I only got 200-300. UHG!

I didnt lose anything this past week either. I gained 2 lbs. Thought it was crazy cause I had finally pooped too lol. I'm just weighing myself every week on Wednesdays. I know it was depressing not seeing it go down but it will. Our bodies are adjusting to our new lifestyle. We have to give it time. Just keep on doing the right things a d rewards should come

  11. I'm curious about everyone's hunger level. I've been hearing from all my friends who had sleeve that the first time they ate a scrambled egg, it made them feel stuffed. I tried an egg yesterday, and I didn't feel that fullness at all. I wasn't hungry after, but I definitely wasn't full either.
What's been your experience? I know we all can vary so much!
Hi I definitely had hunger pains and the feeling of being hungry early on. I couldn't stand it lol. They've gotten better but just like the other person said, I'll eat something and feel semi full...dont want to over do it and then like a couple hrs later I'm hungry again. I'll drink something or have a popsicle. Today was my 1st day back at work. Had a scrambled egg with a little bit of cheese for Breakfast then a little leftover chicken with a few sweet potato fries. Now its almost 2 hrs later and I'm beginning to feel hungry. I have a yogurt that I'll eat slowly. Tonight think I'm going to venture out and get rotisserie chicken and make some chicken salad for dinner and then for lunches. There are sooo many ideas out there to try I cant wait! I soooooo want spaghetti so I think I'm going to make zoodles with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese.

  12. Hello everyone haven’t been on here in a min , I need some advice ! Well I’m 8 months in post surgery I had my surgery May 1st 2018 and some things happened had to move out of state. I kind of hit rock bottom due to certain circumstances and I need some advice on how can I get back on track I’m having a really hard time !
Congrats on having the surgery and also for asking for help! That's the 1st step with anything!!! You want to start back up and that's huge! I'm just a couple weeks out of surgery so I'm no expert but I do try to find positivity with most things. It's been rough for me too. I lost my mom on dec 20th and had my surgery on the 26th. So yea..I havent been top motivated to do anything! What is helping me get through each day is the fact that I have each day to get better. It's one day at a time! Start slow getting as much Protein as you can. Try to eliminate the carbs and go from there. This isn't a sprint! It's a life long marathon that we can get through. We had the surgery so we could better ourselves. So that's what we need to do. I'm here if you need someone to chat with

  13. Hello. Jean9 My sincere condolences on loss of your Mom. I had my sleeve December 17th. I'm 5'8 weighed 372 when I started the 90 day program to get my Aetna approval. I lost a total of 33lbs. My pre-op weight 339. They couldn't get my nausea and vomiting under control so I wasn't discharged until Dec 23rd. Then I had problems with my main puncture site oozing blood so I had to go back to the surgeon office on 31st. I had to have two stitches. I was weighed at that time. I'm 321 down 18lbs. I can tolerate pureed grilled chicken or mostly I just chew real slow. I still eat Jello, Soup, popsicles. I can also eat soft foods and crackers. Oh and scramble eggs. I do have hunger pains sometimes but I drink Water or sip Protein Drink. I haven't tried the Premier yet. But I have tried Syntrax and those taste good. I'm taking my chewable vitamins and calcium chews. Only vomited once two days ago when I tried a chunky Soup don't think I was ready. So I'm sticking to small bites of chicken, popsicles, noodle soup, mash or baked potato etc.
Thank you it's surely been a tough journey without her here with me. I'm going back to work tomorrow where only a couple know I had surgery. They'll probably think I lost weight cause of mourning. That probably is true along with the surgery. I wish you all the best in your weight loss journey.

  14. I’m currently 3 days out of gastric sleeve surgery and having extreme buyers remorse. Why did I do this? The pain is unbearable without meds. I cant drink anything without pain. It hurts to breath. I feel like I’m gonna die if I don’t eat because they push the fact that you need to eat every 15mins. So if I don’t eat will I die? I had to travel 8 hours to get my “day” surgery. I ended up back in the hospital the day I was released because I was vomiting everything I injested. I’m heading home tomorrow and because I was told to walk a lot my trip will now take 12 plus hours. Oh and I have no desire to eat or drink anything.
Just think about the future. A little pain for alot of gain!!! Just take little sips. I hurt for a week and even when I drank Water it hurt. I had my sleeve done on dec 26th and I'm on the pureed stage. But 5 days out of surgery I was eating a scrambled egg cause I couldn't handle the Protein Shakes. Everyone is different. Everyone heals on their own pace. We will all get through this. This is a great site to connect with others who are going through what you are going through. Keep up the good work.

  15. I had my post op check up the other day and I'm down 15 lbs. He said I could move to pureed foods. I've been eating a scrambled egg with some cheese for a few days and it's great. Yesterday I ate some tuna and even went out to dinner with my dad! It was weird but I made it through. Had 1 shrimp cocktail and then I ordered a chicken breast with some cheese, jalepenos and a pablano pepper with sweet potato fries. Omg I thought I was in heaven. I chewed and chewed so it would be pureed in my mouth lol. Only ate a few bites but it filled me up and i felt fine
