Will I ever feel normal again?

You have to remember, everything is still swollen. Just drink as much as you can and try not to get dehydrated. I heard that feeling is much worse Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

Will I ever feel normal again?

You will feel normal eventually. The first week or two is the roughest part. Just make sure you're drinking very slow (sips) when you take in your fluids. Not sure about the incisions but just make sure you're taking your pain medications. Good luck with your journey and I hope you feel better. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    First day home VGS

My first day home I was able to get in all of my protein and about 50 oz water. My doctor told me to add my protein intake with my water intake. So getting close to 64 oz was kind of easy. I used medicine cups to measure my intake which helped a lot. Good luck on your journey..[emoji4] i wasn't hungry either but I made sure to drink some broth.. Horrible pain and discomfort

Thanks everyone for responding. It happened again today while I was eating a food I thought I was okay eating. I had my coworker pound my back several times and I was able to burp which was great. Once I burped the pain subsided. It's a shame I have to be burped like a baby[emoji852] Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. It wasn't bad for me but everyone is different. I did better the more I walked around. I only needed my pain meds for a few days after surgery. No nausea at all. Hopefully you will do well. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Post Op Pain

1st thing is I hope you feel better soon and I'm sure you will eventually. Make sure you're taking your nausea and pain medications. Just try to relax and take it easy. Try putting a cool rag on your forehead. If it gets to bad, call your physician. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Horrible pain and discomfort

I only ate two small bites of baked fish. I'm not sure if it was because they were shark bites and the texture is a little thick or maybe my new system just can't handle that kind of fish. I have a hard time with shrimp too. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

  14. It does get better but I definitely understand. My daughter was cooking with a lot of garlic after my surgery and I could smell it on her breath the next day. I was going crazy for almost two weeks, luckily I didn't experience any nausea but the smells were horrible.. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Help!!

I'm in the soft food stage. Sometimes I have trouble eating as well. I just make sure I chew my food really well and try not to rush the next bite. Some foods are easier than others but I'm loving this phase. Sometimes I will revert back to other stages if Im not to hungry. Soup is always a good go to. Hope it gets better for you... Questions

Just make sure you're mentally ready for everything (meaning the good and bad). Focus on staying positive and follow your doctor's instruction. It's not really all that bad but not being able drink a lot or eat as much can be a bit frustrating. You will be fine in the end. It's worth it!! Good luck. There are a lot of good stories on YouTube. Don't get caught up with the horror stories... Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Walking as exercise after surgery

I had my bypass in December. Walking in the beginning was great but I love the gym more. Walking is a great form of excercise, it should not slow your progress at all. Good luck with your surgery and your new journey. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Recovery

I guess it just depends. I took 2 weeks off but I only needed a week. The two weeks helped with getting my meals prepared and I wasn't hurting when I went back to work. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. I use to think that wls was the easy way out until I started doing more research and my bmi was over 40. I think doctors don't bring it up because being obese is a big money maker in the medical field. The more you weigh more than likely you will suffer from different ailments that are costly. So why would they want you to lose weight super fast. They want that money coming in for a long time. I'm so glad my doctor approved my wls surgery but I'm kind of mad he didn't reccomend it in the first place.. Sent from my SM-G955U using BariatricPal mobile app
