  1. Loosing my hair like crazy.....I started to loosing my hair post Menopause about two years ago so I have been taking two Biotin nutrients a day plus Purador Hair loss Shampoo. My nutritionist also informed to to also start taking collagen pepitides powder daily. Still my hair is falling out crazy amounts. It’s not from a lack of Protein I’m eating plenty of that. Does anybody know how long the hair loss continues or here is a better question when does it grow back?!!

  2. Most of the time when I eat now my stomach makes a lot of noise. It’s embarrassing as others can hear it too 😞. I talked to my surgeon about this on my 3 month check up and he stated that noise is from air being in my stomach but I don’t know how that is possible. My stomach never made any noises prior to my surgery

  3. Hi everyone! Just to let you all know that I am doing great. Down 35 lbs since my surgery on 10/26 and counting. Was frustrated and I had some regrets about my surgery just because Of the stalls I was having that’s all! And guess what people I did eat ONE slice of pizza and had no stomach issues!! All of you judge mental people are just so ridiculous. I am happy and proud of my weight loss journey and that all that matters.

  4. I am starting to regret that I had this surgery. My surgery dates was 10/26 and to date I have lost 28lbs which includes the two week pre diet. I had a stall which lasted 2 and 1/2 weeks and then I started losing weight again only to hit another stall now. That being said I have only lost 6lbs this entire month. I could of just done any regular diet and probably would have lost more weight than having this surgery. Feeling so Disheartened and depressed. I started to increase my calorie intake to about 600-700 per my nutritionist and I am walking 2 miles a day. I feel like a freak and don’t know what I am doing wrong.

This is totally for my own sanity and not because I need a logical reply... but feel free anyways. I am 5 weeks out today and...

I HAVE NOT LOST A SINGLE POUND IN 8 DAYS AND WTF I AM EATING 400 CALORIES A DAY AND 100% ON MY DIET GIVEN MY ULCER SITUATION, AND DOESN'T THE HUMAN BODY BURN LIKE 4 TO 5 TIMES THAT AMOUNT OF CALORIES JUST SITTING AND DOING NOTHING ALL DAY SO WHAT IS THE DEAL, BODY??!??!?! WHO EATS ALMOST PURE Protein AND EXTREMELY LOW FAT AND CARBS AND DOESN'T LOSE A SINGLE POUND IN OVER A WEEK? AND YES I AM FRIGGIN' HYDRATED. GET REAL, BODY! DO SOMETTHIIINNNGGG.

Aight, I'm better. Not really. But UGH! I lost this much on Atkins. FMLLLLL.

    Just had to rant. Woooosssaaaa.

Hang in there i know the feeling. My stall lasted 2.5 weeks...I thought i was losing my mind as i had the same thoughts as you. The scale is FINALLY moving. I am putting it away and will only weigh myself every two weeks. The scale is an evil thing!!!

I'm 7 weeks post-op today and have lost 39.4 pounds since the pre-op diet (29.4 since surgery) for a total of 31.5% of my excess weight lost.

I have already had a couple stalls, which are so frustrating, but I'm trying to be patient.

MY CLOTHES ARE HUGE! My body is definitely changing and I've dropped from 26 pants to 22, but haven't bought anything new yet- the fit is still weird with my giant stomach and toothpick legs (I'm built like Mr. Potato Head!). So everything is being held up by a belt these days.

    Surgery day: 265

Congratulations you are doing great! Tomorrow starts my 6th week and i have lost 28 lbs total. I had a stall that lasted almost 3 weeks and the scale is finally moving.

I was sleeved on 10/16 and stalled for 3.5 weeks at 2.5 weeks out. I am now 6 weeks and just dropped 4 lbs...whew.. I will say I see a major difference in clothes fitting despite the stall. Almost none of my old clothes fit anymore. Take lots of photos and measurements to use because the scale does not always tell the truth.

Thanks br3n! You made me feel better. I thought i would have this surgery and the weight would just fall off. Not the case...but I am down 2 sizes and i will start to take measurements. The scale is an evil thing! LOL

I’m curious why he thought too much dairy was an issue? Also, I’m with you on the 5 small meals. Not only because of capacity, but I also get hungry every 3-4 hours.

My surgeon stated that there are too many carbs in dairy. I just started having some meats and they are not digesting very well with me. I am shocked that so many doctors have such different diets post surgery. I am not in agreement with my doctor regarding nothing but Protein and only 3 meals a day so I am going to listen to what my body is telling me. How can i eat only meat when i am still having such a problem digesting it?

Eating a zero carb plan basically means you eat nothing but meat and fat and nothing else. No egg yolks, no dairy, no vegetables or fruit can be included as they contain carbohydrates.

I just came back from my one month checkup with my surgeon. He informed me not to have any carbs just Protein and to eat only 3 meals a day. I don't think that is right for me as i still can only tolerate about 2 ounces a food at a time and I don't think 6 ounces a food a day is good for my system. I will still continue to eat 5 small meals a day. He did state for me to still have eggs and vegetables, just no bread or Pasta. He also informed me that i was having too much dairy in my diet (i.e. Protein Drinks, yogurt, lowfat cottage cheese).

So, my follow up went well. I had to eat food that I could smash with a fork and flaky fish for the week. I can move on to solid food. I'm nervous because everything I eat or drink makes me burp non stop. I dont know what's going on. This morning I couldn't finish a scrambled egg and Beans. I burped so much I ended up throwing up some. This is crazy. I even keep chewable anti gas at the dinner table and one on my nightstand.

Anyone else have this issue? Will it stop?

You are not alone. I had my surgery on 10/26 and I am having the same issues. I feel like a volcano and I have been on Dexilant (anti heartburn medication) for years and its not working now.

  12. Team,

I ordered this great barbaric cookbook off Amazon. Each recipe shows which of the four phases we can eat: F-Full liquid, P-Puree, S-Soft food, G-General Diet. There are other barbaric cookbooks on Amazon but they include bread/rice which we cannot have on this diet. Great recipes and pictures, What to toss from your pantry and what to stock up on. Lots of helpful information, i learned a lot.

Ok so I sort of feel lucky but also weird. I am 2 weeks postop as of tomorrow. Since the beginning of my 2 week liquid diet I have lost 36 pounds. I just got through a 5 day stall where I didn't lose a single pound. My weight loss is rapid, really really rapid, for which I am grateful. I had my postop appt on Friday and my surgeon said that since I am able to get in all my Protein and liquid, and that I have a good metabolism and dense muscle mass, he thinks its fine. However, I am worried about when this little honeymoon ends. During the 5 day stall I found myself down and depressed and worried if I was doing something wrong. I know I am doing just right and my body is just settling into the huge fast weight loss I just had, but I still have those little voices and feelings that I am not really gonna lose weight, that this wont really work for me, that I am not good enough to be so lucky. Anyway, I have been a bit emotional the last couple days, and down. I have something else very difficult and sad I am going through currently and of course can't eat my pain, so I expect it. Just, I wish I could relax and enjoy this, without second guessing myself, without feeling like I don't deserve it.

Now, I am not particularly the whiny type usually, but I figured I would reach out here since you guys are going through the same kinds of things. Can anyone else identify with these feelings or should I be worried that this may not be transient, that I need professional help now and quickly.

Thanks guys, this stuff is harder than it seemed like it would be in some ways, and easier than it seemed like it would be in others. I appreciate you guys sharing and being awesome!

Hi Flyawayfree. My surgery was 10/26 and i am now on my 7th day of stall, no weight loss for an entire week. I am taking away my EVIL scale and bringing it to my friends house where i will only weigh myself every two weeks. For me, the scale is messing with me too much mentally and is not healthy for my mindset. That being said, i have been extremely emotional the past 3 weeks. I don't know if it is related to the hormones that are now missing from the part of our stomachs that were removed or not. Some days i wake up empowered and the next day i find myself with crying spurts without the entire day. I too am also going through a personal situation that is sad.

You are not alone. Every night right before i go to sleep i say to myself repeatedly (not out-loud) "Every day, in every way, i am getting better and better". Its helps me, hope it helps you......

Hi All! Sleeved 10/24 here. HW 309, SW 287, CW 277. Having a hard time with Constipation. Hoping that’s why the scale hasn’t moved much. It’s discouraging but I keep telling myself it will come!

Hi I was sleeved 10/26 and my scale has not moved in 6 days! I’m doing the right amount of fluids and doing brisk walks for 2 miles every day and nothing is coming off

Are you taking omeprazole for acid reflux my Dr told me I had to still take it for 3 months. I just noticed certain things give me heart burn so I don't eat it. Like regular unsweetened apple sauce was fine but when I ate cherry flavored unsweetened apple sauce it gave me heart burn. Just be aware of what you eat sometimes heart burn can be controlled.

Thanks Yvonne I am taking Dexilant which is very strong but still having issues. I will have to play closer attention as to which foods are causing this. I am post op two weeks so I am only on creamed Soups etc
