    Anyone else eating normal?

I have troubles exactly like that if the chicken is too dry that could have been your problem. With more restriction I have found even eggs can get stuck if too dry.
  2. I googled the question and found this on another site hope it helps..... "Duke University did a study on caffeine and Type II diabetics and discovered that it caused blood sugar levels to spike through out the day after meals. We don’t know whether it does the same for non-diabetics or not, but we do know that Dr. Atkins found his patients didn’t lose weight as well when they were drinking coffee. In my case, I could barely register as being ketosis if I drink any caffeine whatsoever regardless of how meticulous I am about keeping my carbs below induction level."
  3. I still have iced tea at least once a day as I am sick to death of crystal lite lemonades!!!! I don't know why we are not supposed to have caffeine and I am sure if you search the site there are answers here, but I am so happy with my weight loss I will keep on with what I am doing. 2cute remember when eating to always eat the protein first then if you still have room you can eat some fruit or veggies! It will make you feel fuller longer.

    Hello Everyone

Scott your an inspiration! Congratulations on standing up against all the blows you have been dealt in life. A word of advice it is to plan ahead to avoid the fast food urge. I always have some chicken breasts individually wrapped in my freezer for quick defrost of frozen hamburgers which are very filling for me and so easy to make! I also have a power bar between meals to help curb the hunger and helps to avoid over eating at the next meal. Also as you get more restriction that might help. But it looks like you don't need too much advice you are on your way!

    2 Questions

Stephanie I know what you are saying I went back and forth over should I or shouldn't I get the band for about 5 years when someone I knew got one of the early ones. It is a life changing choice and it takes commitment but facing 50 and wanting to live my life not sitting on the side lines any longer and feeling like I had wasted the last 15 years being over weight helped me make the choice. (an illness and meds caused the gain 15yrs earlier) Now I can't wait to see what 50 will be!

    2 Questions

Carly this may be hard to believe but for some reason since I was banded I don't crave sweets at all anymore. I think it may be because I am so focused on eating protein and that fills you. If during that time of month when I would eat cookies, candy etc. I still need a sweet I have a square of dark chocolate and that's it and I can't believe I am typing this but it satisfies me. I love sugar free fat free puddings as an in between meal snack if necessary or some watermelon. Of course having some restriction helps because as lafrogura says eating something you shouldn't makes you a quick student of the band! You will surprise yourself if you decide to go with the band. Good luck on your journey!

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

Wow everyone is doing so amazing hitting our first goals! Allison under 200 I can picture you jumping up and down and calling your Mom, she must be so proud of you. And Yvonne and Kiki just keep up the good work! I myself have lost 5 pounds since my second fill a little over a week ago! I have had some not so pleasant sliming/Pbing (I threw up in the movie theater during Hancock) but I am learning slowly how to work this gift I gave to myself with the support and love of my husband. My first goal was to be under 170 and I may be there by next week. My secret weapon has been a half of a power bar between meals. I'm not hungry between meals anymore so when I do sit down to eat now I am not so starving that I rush and get the dreaded golf ball in the chest pain and I don't eat as much.

That CAN NOT be enough food!!

I was totally struggling just like everyone else with only 1 fill I could eat anything and everything and it was torture because I was always hungry and those 4oz meals my doctor wanted me to do 3 x's a day nothing in between was bandster hell for sure. I told him since I was a self pay I paid him $14,500 to go on a self imposed diet!!!! So I started to try and eat little meals in between and that really helped. Even if it was just a protein bar and I started losing weight and I didn't feel like I was being punished. Then Thursday I got my second fill and I have restriction (at least for now) and I can't eat that much at a sitting even if I wanted too so I make sure it's protein and if there's room then veggies or fruit. I have lost 4lbs since my fill Thursday. I am not weighing anything!!!! My body is doing it for me. I honestly can say I didn't think this day would come or if it did would I know what to do but the band doesn't let me eat more and that is what I paid $14,500 for! Good Luck!

    Need Some Encouragement

I had no restriction either after my first fill. I think it's rare to have it at that point. I had a fill Thursday it was my second so I have 6 1/2 cc in a 12 cc band. I finally have some restriction! I have lost 4 lbs since my fill. I now have to learn what I can eat since after my first fill I could eat anything I wanted. I had a terrible experience Sat. night after eating something that I finally vomited after being in agony for about a 1/2 hour with that golf ball in my chest feeling. It was terrible but had immediate relief after getting it up. It's all a learning curve!

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

I have lost 4 pounds since I got my fill Thursday and feel restriction. In the previous month I lost only 4 lbs total and was starving the days before my fill. Now I understand how this band works! YEAH!!!!!!! Until it happens it's hard to fathom, I just hope this restriction isn't temporary. I have another fill appt in 4 weeks just incase.

Weigh in... how much have u lost?

I only lost 5lbs pre-op since I didn't have to diet pre-surgery except for liquids 48 hours before. I am counting my loss from what I weighed daily for the months up to my surgery.

  21. Amy doesn't your surgeon offer any post-op support? Mine has monthly group meetings or you can go in everyday to the office and talk to someone either a nurse or nutritionist. If not the people on this site are so wonderful I am sure someone will help you out! Good Luck.......
  22. I had my first fill 21 days after surgery he told me to do liquids until the morning then I started solids the next day. I had my second fill this past Thursday and again he told me liquids till morning then solids again at breakfast but if I was having difficulty do mushies for a day.

    Insurance companies?

I have Blue Cross PPO and they denied me didn't have a high enough BMI and only 1 co-morbidity my doctor even challenged to decision because I have sever sleep apnea in the REM stage but they wanted me to use non-surgical treatments. I opted to go self-pay.
  24. I love Dr. Billy!!!!! Jessica too she did my fill this time. I like you believe they will fight hard for you! Were you self pay too? I wonder if you were at the seminar I went to one of his band patients was there......small world. VikkiAnn I wish you nothing but the best and am confident Dr. Billy will make it right.
