  1. It really depends how far you are away from goal weight i.e how much excess you have? But it also comes down to how stringent you are
  2. Lost weight today and I'm not even trying to....
  3. Personally felt the past 20 years was my food funeral and one day after scheduling surgery I just woke up and said that's it no more junk and I completely changed my diet and it's been amazing if you're able to commit to a new diet and new way of life after giving up food then go for it...
  4. They usually ask to do liquid because you're meant to be on liquid immediately after surgery anyway... Personally I decided to stay my pre-op rather early I was lucky to find a protein shake I actually enjoyed and it kept me going for months.. After I had my bypass I literally has no desire to eat real food for months and I'm glad because I'm now below my goal weight and feeling amazing... Most surgeons will say it is best to change your eating habits prior to surgery otherwise the surgery won't work...
  5. Yes I heard of a surgeon saying no if the person didn't even attempt to lose the weight asked..
  6. Well that's an issue... You should start expanding your horizons...
  7. That's unfortunate. My diabetes is gone and my blood sugar was fine before I left the hospital. I think you need to see a diabetes doctor.
  8. Well covid-19 has changed things.. hope you have some news though?
  9. Unfortunately it's not a one size fits all formula to lose weight everyone is different
  10. 1. It varies with each person but personally I take a multivitamin and B12 and calcium+vitD and that's all.. 2. My hair didn't fall out but it is thinner and growing slower. 3. Dumping for me is if I have something with high sugar/fat content and it makes me feel sick and or diarrhoea. 4. In the first few months you will need to chew food small enough that it doesn't bother you going down.. 5. I've always been able to drink water with my food but I try to wait at least 10minutes. 6. For me I was sore for a few days and bloated for a week. 7. I lost like 20kgs (40lb) in the first month but I was on liquid only and very low calorie; high protein. 8. You will need to eat healthy try to stay away from sugar and fat and bad carbs & that is the whole point anyway to learn to eat healthy... I suggest to do alot of research to prepare yourself. I chose to be very strict myself and I lost weight quickly. My high weight was 322. I'm now 166.
  11. Hello I'm from Australia also. But I'm male and in 8 months I have lost 70kgs but I've been very low calories and very strict for the most part. I'm now in maintenance at that calorie range so in my mind you'll need less calories to lose weight.... I was on max 750 cal up until very recently and I was losing very fast.. I'm now at maybe 1500 a day and stable weight.
  12. They say band only lasts 10 years before it's starts to deteriorate
  13. I just take Zoloft hasn't affected my weight at all...
  14. How about taking advice from people who've been through pre and post surgery and have experienced what it's like to be successful and reach their goals.
  15. Well you need to get your head right or the bypass will fail... So many ppl fail because they are not ready nor do enough research...
  16. Does the surgeon have any goals for you before you have surgery? You should be using this time to learn healthy options and make changes otherwise the bypass will be a huge shock to the system...
  17. When I first started I thought I'd be happy to get below 220 and then 200 and finally 185 would be perfect for my height of 6ft and I've passed all those goals and look and feel amazing. Started above 300 so every lb lost was good and I've ended up doing so well and now perfectly healthy BMI wise and physically. I never thought I'd get below 200 but as I passed each milestone I set myself a new target every time and it kept me focused... Now I feel great..
  18. Not having hair fall out but it is definitely not as thick as before and growing slower than usual..
  19. I told people surgery was the best decision ever and more people should get it
  20. Highest weight 322lbs CW 166lbs Before and after. Proof. Comments appreciated xx Mikey.
  21. Freeze food you don't use it can last months in freezer
  22. Do not go near junk food at all. No excuses. Obviously you won't lose heaps if you eat unhealthy... Reflux issue you may need bypass next.. if it is so bad you can't eat.
  23. I counted down everyday waiting I couldn't get the surgery done soon enough I only wish I had done it years earlier. It's the best choice don't stress about it.
  24. I always had a goal in mind for myself before surgery and the surgeon agreed I never thought I'd get to where I am today. My highest weight of 146kg (322lbs) Now I'm 75kg (166lbs) which is amazing and below any goal I had and now I've been told to stop and to figure out how to maintain. My BMI is perfect and I'm finally healthy.
