Hey Feb Sleevers, how is everyone hanging so far? I've lost almost 125 lbs since 24th Feb, and its going great.

Is anyone else starting to grow an appetite to nibble anything now and then?

Attached is a photo for my current progress.

You look great!! Congrats!!! Keep Going!!!!

  2. You are doing great! Everyone is different in this process. I lost 13 lbs in my first week but stalled the following weeks. I had to stop weighing myself and comparing myself to others progress. I was really getting discouraged. Then at my 8 week check up I found out I had lost 52 lbs since surgery. It blew my mind. Follow the process and you will see (YOUR) results. You are doing fantastic!!!!

  3. I went thru the same thing!! I had to buy the overnight pads and just limit my movements. Heating pad was my bff for the first couple of days. It does get better! I know sometimes birth control can help after surgery with period flows. Might want to talk to you dr to see if that is a good option for you. Crossing my fingers that it gets better!!

  4. I was sleeved on Feb 1st. It has been the biggest blessing to me. Thru the program that my bariatric dr has set up and I would say I've been very successful so far. My nutritionist stated that if I look at a label on food. I should be looking for single digits for carbs and single digits for sugar or carb free/ sugar free. I would contact your dr and see what they can do for you and get you on the right track.

  5. I use to feel the same way about going to the gym but you have to keep the mind set that you aren't there for other people and that you are there to be a better you. I joined my local YMCA and I have had nothing but support from the people in the classes I've taken and from the staff that are there. Maybe that could be an option for you. My Y has a gym and pool. I have 4 kids and they also have kid programs about being healthy and doing different activities with them while I'm working out.

You can ask for engage more specialist and they can help you get acclimated. I also took advantage of their 30 min wellness training which they showed me how to use the machines and how to set them to an appropriate amount of weight and how to adjust them to my height. Don't be scared. You've come this far and life is only getting better. Hope this helps you.

  6. I was warned about working out and having to low of calorie count. Sometimes your body will stop you from loosing because you are burning to many calories from working out. I don't know what you are doing as far as a work out but make sure to consult your dr's and nutritionist. They maybe able to help you thru your stall.

I'm 8 weeks out and have lost about 22 lbs total, 17 since surgery date. Trying not to compare my low loss with others' since my BMI started out fairly low, but it's a little discouraging.

Everyone's journey is different. Sometimes it's not the lbs but the inches you have lost. My dr's office said to take a picture on what ever day your surgery was and do that continually every month for a year. Pictures are worth a thousands words. Don't be discouraged. You've made it this far.

Just celebrated my 2 month surgiversary. I’ve been struggling on my Protein and Water. Also trying to get inventive with food choices. What is everyone’s favorite meals??

I'm on soft foods phase right now. I love cottage cheese with scrambled eggs with a couple of dabs of hot sauce. Weird combo or I'll go to Starbucks and get a venti cup of ice with two shots of espresso and pour my Protein Shake in once in awhile. Pintrest has some great stuff too

How are my fellow February sleevers doing? Haven't heard much from you guys in awhile!

I'm 7 weeks out, feeling good, and adapting well to my forever diet.

I lost 22 lbs. on the 2 week pre-op diet, however I have only lost another 32 lbs. in 7 weeks post-op. But combined that's 54lbs. in 9 weeks and I'll take that!

    You look great! Congratulations!!

  10. I'm enjoying the little things that my surgery has allowed me to do. I can bend over to tie my own shoes without getting out of breath. My clothes are getting baggy. I can cross my legs with ease. Little changes that I've taken for granted for so long. I even had co workers come up to me and say you look different. . .did you loose some weight? lol

Hello all, I’ve got a question about calorie goals in the first 2 weeks post surgery.
I was given a calendar and it says I’m to be on all liquids for the first 2 weeks and that I need to make sure I get in 3 Proteins, but that’s really all the guidelines I have.

To be honest, I’m lucky if I get in 2 Proteins a day (who can actually consume 6 oz in one sitting) and I’m worried that I might sabotage future weight loss if I don’t get in enough right now.

I logged my calories for the past 2 days (was sleeved on 2-6) and I’ve consumed 330 calories.
    That’s for BOTH days. 😱😱😱

Anyone else in the same boat?

I was sleeved on 02/01. My dr told me not to worry about calorie intake. Just focus on getting the Water intake and try to hit the Protein goal. They were more focused on me not becoming dehydrated. I'm up to 40-60 oz of water and I'm almost to my protein goal. I also have sf popsicle, sf Jello, strained Soup with added Protein Powder. Good Luck!!!!!!

  12. My drs office gave me a suggestion right before surgery. Take your body measurements and pre surgery pictures. Then every month of your surgery Anniversary do it again. Track it for as long as you want. They said this is the best way to see results vs a scale sometimes. I started my journey at 325 lbs, my pre surgery weight was 281 lbs, I'm 1 week 4 days post op 263 lbs.

24 hours since surgery. Yesterday was pretty tough. I struggled from the anesthesia. Pain meds help a bunch. Getting a little bit easier to get my fluids down but that’s my biggest challenge right now.

I had a hard time to with the anesthesia. I didnt like the way it made me feel afterwards. If your throat is hurting from the breathing tube get sugar free popcicles. It helped me so much and made it easier to swallow Water or Jello. Congrats on the surgery!!

How are my early Feb sleevers? I had VSG on Feb 4th, feeling pretty good today. Still have incision pain, but if I wear an Abdominal binder during the day it seems to help. I'm doing pretty good getting liquids in, I just get pain when I take too big of sips........still learning :)

I didn't exepct to feel hungry though! I'm hungry all day long! And not head hunger, because I actually feel hungry enough to eat a vegetable LOL I have one more week of being on liquids until i can move to pureed foods, i can't wait :) My stomach has been making some really interesting sounds though. My kids can hear it across the room :)

    Hope everyone is doing good!!

I had my surgery the 1st. Honestly I wasn't prepared for the pain. But I knew it would get better and I didn't have any regrets afterwards. I haven't had any hunger issues since surgery. Its quite an adjustment to taking lil sips and my body reminds me when I don't. I'm on an all liquid diet until March 1st then I can go to pureed stage. I'm so ready for something different since I've been on a liquid diet for 3 weeks now. My drs office takes our stages by month. But its been working I've lost 33 lbs since Jan 18th and over all 62 lbs. My body looks like I was in fight club but I'm feeling so much better.

  15. I'm almost to my 1st week post op. SF Popsicles were my friend the first 3 days to help with the sore throat. Make sure to walk around too. My surgery was Feb 1st and I went back to work Feb 5th on half days. It hasn't been horrible. My stomach looks like I've been in fight club but I'm already down 12 lbs since surgery. So I'm excited about that.

  16. I was just sleeved yesterday. I'm being realised today. Follow the diet and what your drs tell you. My dr was so pleased with outcome and my recovery has been great. I'm extremely sore and sore throat. But they keep reassuring me that I'm doing great. Good luck Feb sleeves! You all are going to do great!

  17. Follow the liquid diet plan your drs have given you. I'm so happy I did. I had my surgery yesterday with no complications. It only took an hr and half. I'm extremely sore but I'm doing great. I will be released today. My dr was so pleased with how far I've come and in my recovery. My throat is sore so I've had popcicles and ice cold Water. That helps so much. I had some discomfort with heart burn in my chest and grogginess from anesthesia. I'm still pretty high from the pain killers they have given me so I hope this helps and makes sense lol Good luck guys! I'm in the biggest loser club!!

Hello, So I'm on my pre-op 2 week liquid diet my surgery is February 1st. Prior to today I've cheated very little such as having a small bite of salmon or something but literally just a bite. And I was going strong until earlier this afternoon I served my self a plate of food and chewed it then spit it out without swallowing it, It's the early stages to an eating disorder and I don't think I'm at risk for it but just wanted a different texture other than Soup and Protein Shakes. Did anyone else go through this?

My surgery date is Feb 1st too. I am day 11 of the 2 week pre op diet and I cheated on day 8. I ate 4 bites of cottage cheese. I felt so guilty that I called my husband crying lol I read that it takes 48 to 72 hrs for your body to absorbe food which made me feel a little bit better. But we are all human and it happens. I wouldn't start a habit of chewing food and spiting it out. But if you are doing it more then I would see a therapist to talk about it. Good luck!!

  19. On Day 11 of my liquid diet. It's been rough. I did semi cheat on day 8. . .I ate 4 bites of cottage cheese and then cried lol Feb 1st is so close. Tonight I am packing my hospital bag because my surgery is at 9:40 am on Friday. My husband bought me a shirt that says Downsizing in Progress to wear the day of surgery. lol He gets me haha I'm so anxious and excited at the same time. 8 months of hard work and 47 lbs already gone. Congratulations to all the Feb Sleevers!!!

  21. Warning this rant is a little TMI. lol Weds I started my monthly flow and I started my liquid diet today also pre-admission testing today as well. I have 13 more days to go for my pre-op diet. I told my best friend to do a wellness check on my husband this weekend. lmao It's coming to the end of the day and my stomach wont stop gurgling. Its a loud gurgle sound too. It started happening about 5pm. I've had some looks from people because of how loud it was. haha I've had 4 Protein Shakes, 2 jell-o cups, 2 servings of broth and 50oz of Water. My next Protein Shake isn't for another 1hour and I still have 2 more cups of water to drink. I don't have any food cravings but my stomach says feed me!!!! lol I've had the poos all day with a nasty headache. Just keep telling myself that tomorrow will be better and the day after will be better and the day after that will be better. haha Just feel like crawling into bed and waiting for Feb 1st to get here already.
