  1. Congratulations on your 86lb loss!! I had my surgery 10/10 - only 1 day apart from you!! Don’t stress about your stall. I had a 3 week one - and then lost 10lbs the next week! It’s so odd how our bodies adjust to the surgery!! I totally agree with your non scale victories! That could have been written by me (except maybe not the running part - LOL!)
  2. I walked right after surgery too but ended up staying 2 nights because I was really nauseous and couldn’t keep anything down! Good luck at home and on your journey to good health!!
  3. That’s fantastic!!!! Congratulations on your loss! I haven’t lost nearly as much as you - but I’m flying in March and although I will bring my seatbelt extender (just in case) I’m hoping I don’t need it!! And I’ve definitely had non scale victories too. The seats in the movie theater seem to have magically gotten wider! Lol

Clothes are such a pain in the butt! Everything I have is way too big (especially my coat which was big to start with)! But who wants to spend money on clothes that won’t fit for long?!? I will confess though that yesterday Woman Within had a 50% off sale so I bought a new coat - in RED!!! This is big for me because for the past 20+ years I’ve been only wearing black!!
  5. Hysterical - and so true!!!
  6. I used to have the Mirena IUD and absolutely LOVED IT! I never got my period so it was wonderful. Unfortunately it was time to have it removed earlier this year and my GYN said I was too old to get a new one (I’m 52). So guess what?? Now I get my period like a teenager - cramps and all. It sucksssss!
  7. I wonder if it has to do with increased constipation. I was almost never constipated before I started the high protein pre-op diet. Now (10 weeks past surgery) I am ALWAYS constipated - no matter what I try! :(
  8. I second the original poster’s comment. I had Dr. Giovanni from Kent Hospital and her entire team is amazing!! I would highly recommend them!!
  9. I’m 52 and was sleeved in October. My only regret is I didn’t do it sooner!! Don’t listen to the naysayers!
  10. I met my husband online 13 years ago. It might not work for everyone - and certainly I met some losers before I found my prince - but for me it was awesome! Good luck!!
  11. Im a BIG girl (currently 291 down from 365). I look at it this way - If people are looking at me funny and/or internally mocking me to try to IMPROVE myself - then they aren’t the type of people I care about at all!! Just do it! Good luck!!
  12. Yogurt was definitely one of the easiest things for me! I had a tough time with scrambled eggs (still do at 8 weeks out). I love pea soup so that was pretty easy (no chunks)! Good luck and like Oct517 said, take it slow!
  13. As long as your not on pain meds you should be fine. I drove 3 days after surgery. I just made sure my seatbelt was below my incisions- just in case I had to stop quickly.
  14. I’m 52 and was sleeved on 10/10/18. I’m probably losing slower than younger people but I really don’t compare. I’m just happy I’m losing!! Last week I finally hit the 200’s for the first time in FOREVER and I feel awesome! My surgery weight was 327 (highest was 365) and currently 295!
  15. I haven’t been in your situation - but when I was pregnant (18+ years ago) I was 245lbs when I found out and gained only about 25lbs. Ten days after I had my son I weighed what I weighed when I got pregnant and was in my pre-pregnancy jeans! You DO NOT have to go crazy and gain tons of weight! Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS! Babies are a blessing!! ❤️❤️
  16. Thanks Fluffy! And thanks for calling me young! That made my day (I’m 52!)
  17. Totally off topic - but do you have alpaca?? I went to an alpaca farm today as I treat (I hit 70lbs lost - 38 before sleeve and 32 after). I had such a great time. I even got to pet a baby!!
  18. With all that protein and cheese - how will you poop?!?!
  19. I don’t know how to change you profile - but WOW - amazing success!! 106lbs lost is AWESOME! Congratulations!!
  20. I had my husband get wonton soup from my favorite Chinese restaurant- and then strained it (he ate the “good stuff”!) It was comfortingly familiar and was my favorite broth the first couple of weeks after my sleeve.
  21. Is this like a pressure cooker? I have had one of those for years (still in the box - never used it - lol). You all have made me want this but if I buy one more gadget I don’t use I think my husband might divorce me!! ?
  22. I’m originally from Massachusetts but I live in Rhode Island now.
  23. So I’m happy to report my stall “broke” 2 days ago! I was sleeved on 10/10 at 327lbs. I got down to 300.8 after 4 weeks. Then still 300.8 (exactly) at 5 weeks and 6 weeks and 6 weeks+6 days. Wednesday morning I stepped on the scale (exactly 7 weeks out and 3 weeks since I lost an ounce) and I was 299! YAY - I haven’t been under 300lbs in 10+ years! Then yesterday 298 and today 297.4. How weird!! 3 weeks of not losing anything and then 3 days in a row of losing! Obviously I’m so happy and I’ll never fear the stall again! Lol
  24. I had no idea about this! Thanks for mentioning it - I’ll have to check with my doctor!!
