1 hour ago, JanJan19 said:Iโm 15 days post-op and had an emergency that has lead us to leave the country we were living in (Peru). I had to change my diet to more of a typical US post-op diet and I am tolerating things really well. Iโm getting my protein but struggling with my Water. I got my first post-op period yesterday and itโs causing me pain that is close to landing me in the ER.

I think I turned a corner, feeling really good so far today at 3 days post-op. Swelling is going down a bit and pain is also significantly less. Feeling positive.

Hi! Just wondering if there was a follow up to this? Did you have your surgery? Did you decide to wait? My stats and story are similar to yours and I just feel I'm drowning every day that I am not proactive in making this decision.

Is this all inclusive or are there other hidden costs?

Has anyone here traveled to Tijuana from outside of North America? I am and American currently living in Lima, Peru and am considering self-pay gastric sleeve in Mexico. Aside from the cost (MUCH cheaper to fly in to Tijuana than San Diego), the flight durations / layovers seem like a nightmare. It's about 6.5 hours to Mexico City then 3 or so more to Tijuana which isn't so bad by itself but the layovers are crazy - up to 24hrs+.
I am also concerned about aftercare here in a developing country in the case of an emergency.
If anyone has any advice or words of wisdom I'd love to hear them!
Thanks!
