  1. Oh, I get that! I lost 60lbs last year and went down ONE pants size. Absurd. I felt a lot better though, physically. (gained all that weight back however). I am still interested in the number though. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Easier said than done! lol! I was just curious as to each person's patterns. I know it varies. My friend who had the sleeve is like... girl... don't even weigh yourself until at least a month or two. And my surgeon doesn't care until 1 month, either. But I'm still curious! 3. Hey! Just had surgery on the 1st and got home this morning at 11. Everything went perfectly. I am struggling a bit with one thing I don't really get yet. I don't feel hungry, maybe a slight twinge. But I do not feel full at all. I am on 2 2oz portions of full liquids 5 times a day. Just now, for example, I opted for 4 oz of cream of tomato soup. I think I am sipping too fast? It is so hard to tell because I don't feel full... but by the time I guess my body has had enough I get kind of burpy and heavy feeling. Does that mean I am going too quickly or is that just the new cue on when to stop? I'm not taking big gulps, I don't think... but it only takes me about 5 minutes to finish those 4 ounces. Also, I can drink water nonstop and not have any symptoms. Is that normal? I went through 18 ounces in 2 hours no problem. I don't want to do things TOO fast, but without normal cues I'm just not sure what's pushing it? Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Making some crushed ice Powerade as we speak... Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Thanks for the advice. Coupled with the encouragement from the dietitian that I haven't ruined my entire plane of existence, I feel a bit better. lol. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. Also the timer idea is a good one. I think that will help me a lot! Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. The nurse in the morning also told me to not have more than 4 oz of broth anymore. But the dietitian just said I could use that as my hydration. UGH. Would have been doing that all along. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Just talked to my dietitian. She said to forego eating if it means I can get more fluid in. I'm only at about 25oz today so far. I also asked her why my manual says to only have one protein shake a day, which means I am getting only 15g of protein (minus my small protein meals), and she said if I can tolerate more to have more. Um... yes. The protein shakes don't bother my but this friggin book says to only have 12 ounces a day! Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. I'm not still on liquids. I am on puree and some soft foods. Had chili, tuna, cottage cheese, and yogurt today. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anyone regretting this?

I haven't tried the popsicles yet which is dumb on my part because I literally just bought some. lol. I'll get one now, actually. I do fine with warm broth. It's something about room temp and cold liquids that just is so uncomfortable. I also constantly feel like I am sipping, but then I look at the ounces drank and it's been like.... 4. I sent a message to my dietitian asking if I can drink broth more in lieu of water. I also am going to go get tea tonight. Late, when no one is at Walmart, so I can shrink to the ground if I need to. lol! Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Anyone regretting this?

For what it's worth, I am a week out and I regret it. I did this for the wrong reasons and I know it. I am also dehydrated, bad, but I am waiting for lab results to return before my surgical team decides if I need emergency fluids. I haven't walked since I was gone because I can't stand more than 3 min without getting lightheaded. I am starving and have cravings, despite eating. I CAN drink water, but it feels like it gets stuck when I swallow and it's a huge deterrent but they won't look for a stricture for 4 weeks. I get about 20oz of liquid a day right now. I used to get over 100. My urine is straight up brown. Maybe it'll get better. Maybe it won't. Either way, it is what it is and you aren't alone. I was told NOT to go to the ER yet. So I wait. 12. I just had surgery on the 1st. On full liquids, I was allowed to eat cream based soups, so Monday I had strained cream of chicken. For hourrrrrsss I was sweating and then shivering and my heart was racing. Now I am on puree and I had 2 oz of hummus and I just dry-heaved several times and I'm getting super flushed. I feel so so so nauseous and hot! I am eating what they say I can but this is twice now in 3 days! Is this truly dumping or is it just from my stomach not being healed enough? Should I never try these foods again? Is this going to be a risk every single friggin time I have a new food?? This is awful! Every time I eat I am terrified. It makes me not want to eat ever. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. Ok... I thought it was just me being cursed or something. lol. I didn't check the cream of chicken, but the hummus was low in fat and sugars. Maybe the seasonings just irritated me even though it was plain? It was definitely a different... experience.... than the soup fiasco. I'm going to stick to bland stuff for a while... maybe the only thing new try will be tuna or chicken salad. Unf. I don't want to be someone who ends up sick all the time! I thought it only really happened with really starchy or sugary things like desserts or pastas, etc. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. I'm eating exactly what my surgeon has cleared me for. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. I'm just wondering if anyone had this issue at first and it went away? Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. Yes, the surgeon said it could be a stricture or it could just be sensitivity while I am healing since it's so soon and they will discuss it again in 3 weeks. But in the meantime I am not getting fluids in so I don't know what to do. I told them all of this. I'm trying to swallow and push through since it's not coming back up. 17. Omg I an glad I found this thread. I am one week out and about 80% of the time I swallow anything it feels like it gets stuck. Doc said today it could be a stricture but they're going to give it a few weeks. It's so uncomfortable and I am really dehydrated because I don't want to eat or drink because of it! 18. I didn't have mini, I had regular RNY, but I am one week out and food and liquids are getting caught in my esophagus too. It is extremely uncomfortable and has made me dehydrated because I don't want to drink. I've been eating 2 or 3 of my 5 meals a day. They told me it could be a stricture but it's too early to tell. Have they checked you for that? Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. I'm also only getting 15g to 20g of protein a day, and my surgeon said that is normal and he doesn't expect me to get to my levels for weeks. So I'm not stressing. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. I had surgery on the 1st and still have all the same cravings. The only thing stopping me is knowing I will feel horrific if I ate it. Monday I was scheming every possible way it would be *ok* to have a single bite of Taco Bell. But I have already experienced dumping from some cream of chicken soup so let me tell you... that is not something I want again. I just went to puree today... I am a huge texture person. I can't wait to move onto the crunch. I guess the thing is... I am still hungry. I am still craving. But now I will literally get violently ill if I cave, so I won't. That's the tool for me. Deterrence by punishment. lol. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. Hey all. I am 4 days post op robotic RNY... all day I've been getting super hot and then shivering. No fever though. Getting water down a lot better than yesterday. But I keep like.. inducing panic attacks. My heart has been pounding since yesterday and i keep half-crying. I feel like a crazy person! I keep questioning if I did the right thing, and then thinking about foods like Golden Grahams and mac n cheese and wondering why I couldn't just be happy the way I was and how unjust it is that I have friends who eat total garbage and never gained a pound and that I had to have this surgery just to be healthy, etc etc. I didn't really have any health issues and did this mostly due to poor self image and maybe to prevent the unknown problems I'd have later on. Serious Buyer's Remorse keeps cycling through. I am tired of eating liquids and tired of feeling nauseous and crampy. I just want all of it to stop and for me to feel normal again. I know I will eventually feel better and not sick, once I heal up. But my head is playing tricks on me and I feel like I will feel this cruddy forever and I wonder wtf I did to myself. How do I get through this... there's no turning back and that is terrifying to me. But it's too late for that now. Like. I had to get my stomach chopped in half to stop eating junk. I feel pathetic for that. And everywhere I look there's food ads. On TV, while in the car, on social media. It's like a constant reminder of failure. Sorry for the rant. I'm just feeling like I am on a rollercoaster of emotion. And also still, obviously, sore. I am already down 10lbs in 5 days, which is great and all. I just feel sad I couldn't do this on my own. I feel weak. Any words of encouragement from the vets here are appreciated. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Help, I'm hungry AGAIN!

Girl I am just 6 days post op and feel exactly as hungry as I did last week, pre-op.
  23. Day 6 post op. I am on full liquids until Thursday or Friday. I am starting to feel so so hungry though. My brain has begun plotting "tricks" on how I could scoop put Taco Bell burritos and eat that and just have "just one bite of mac n cheese". I just have a deep hunger that isnt remotely being satisfied by liquids. I NEED to chew something! lol. The longer I go without food-food, the harder it's becoming not to just gorge and dump. And I already had dumping once from trying cream soup (which they said I could have but didnt tolerate). I am so scared I'll get to real foods and have more dumping. But I am going a bit nuts on liquids, dreaming about 7 layer dip on tablespoons, drizzled with fire sauce. lol! Texture. Required.

    6 days post op, starving!

I just didnt expect to feel hungry. Like, normal pre-op hunger. I didnt at first, but it's coming out full force and nothing I am consuming now is satisfying it.

    Mental Starvation?

I had bypass, and I am only 6 days out and have been on liquids since the day before surgery and I am already going nuts, so I sympathize. I feel hungry, too, but I think it's moreso an extreme urge to just want something solid. I feel a hunger deep inside that isnt satiated with liquids. I think it's normal and will get much better once we can actually chew something!
