  1. I ended up in the emergency room today after my lightheadedness and vision loss (vision going black) rapidly progressed after the past 3 weeks. It's a little fuzzy when I sit, but when I stand, I get very, very dizzy and my vision goes dark and I get some confusion. After a ton of tests (labs, ekg, chest xray, urine, orthostatic BP tilt test) ,and a consult with my bariatric surgeon, I was told I had orthostatic hypotension. The surgeon's office said that some people develop this after rapid weight loss and I can try adding salt to my food to raise my BP. Does this get better? Has anyone experienced this? No one told me this was a possible effect of the surgery. I've already had an ulcer, hernia, and gallbladder removal and now this. It's pretty scary because I have to hold onto the wall and stuff sometimes when I walk, and I am afraid I may get dizzy while driving. I just had some heavily salted mashed cauliflower but still feel off. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

    breadBREADbreadBREADbreeeaaadd

I avoided eating any carbs for so long but finally started eating whole grain bread about 5 weeks ago. I was scared to start eating carbs because they were my "vice" and I didn't want to get "re-addicted" to them. But now all I friggin' eat is bread! Yesterday I had two slices of bread with peanut butter and cream cheese, and two slices of bread with butter, and some lentil pasta. That's it. I eat a lot of bread every day in lieu of veggies or meat or anything else. It started with me making those toad in the hole things (eggs in a basket), but now I just toast bread and put some kind of spread on it. My mind cravvvess bread. I am not gaining any weight, but I am also eating basically nothing else besides bread or whole wheat crackers so it's not exactly nutritionally balanced. This is exactly what I thought would happen! I think I need to finish out the loaves of bread I have and put it back on my "NEVER AGAIN" foods list since I just can't seem to control myself. I am like a pigeon. Do you guys have any foods you know you can tolerate but are just not eating ever again for the same reason?
  4. So, I am using some scar cream on the scars from the bra-band skin excision I had done several weeks ago. It really doesn't seem to be doing anything, but I am continuing with it anyways. BUT, 1oz was 30$. I am having a TT and arm lift in 3 weeks and 1oz will NOT last very long and I don't want to spend God knows how much on cream! I hear the tape is a good option, so I may go with that. I have been reading that you can use the tapes for 3 days, take it off, wash it, and reuse it. Is this true??? Seems gross. How does it continue to stick and how does the silicone remain effective? Any links to good tape? I gots questions. lol.

    3 Month Stall. WTF?!

I am 14 months out from surgery. I pretty much stabilized at 12 months. But I don't have any more weight to lose, so, that's probably a good thing. lol. I hit my personal goal weight at 10 months out..

    3 Month Stall. WTF?!

  7. The only time someone outright told me they knew someone that gained the weight back was my coworker. Here daughter in law had it, but didn't actually want to have it and was persuaded by her doctor due to medical conditions. She didn't take it seriously and continued eating the same way so DUH she gained her weight back. Everyone else has just continually told me how fantastic how look and "how much better I must feel". Usually some questions like what can and can't you eat. That's about it. No one seems to really give a crap. I have actually heard more stories about people losing TOO much weight and looking ill or actually becoming ill. Many of those stories relate to people transferring addiction to doing drugs.

Yes. Make sure you look at the measurements. The underwear and bras are the only thing that run VERY SMALL. Everything is true to size. I am a consistent Size 2 in shirts, Size 4 in pants. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
  11. Today is the day! Leaving at 5am for a 6am arrival. Surgery scheduled at 7:30! I am the first and only patient of his of the day. I'll post frequent updates and all post-op everything here! I have my recliner bed all set up, my Percocet, Keflex, and Celebrex near the "bed". I have given the cats a stern warning about jumping on me. I've done all I can. They are excellently made! I only had one shirt that tore and it was some fluffy light material. Shipping is free if you spend 49$! I've been wearing their clothes for like 7 months now and every piece has held up aside from 2 or 3 buttons coming off. No big deal. Returns are free too! Stop vitamins before surgery?

No, I was told to keep taking all my vitamins. I just had to stop fish oil because it's a blood thinner. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app

PS. I bought nearly my entire replacement wardrobe off of Shein. The outfits are true to size even though they ship from China. It is extremely cheap and after you spend x amount of dollars you can sign up to lotteries to get free clothes and special gifts. They are my go-to. My ENTIRE new wardrobe came from them. (okay, and some from Walmart, lol). It's not like most China-cheap stores where everything is cheaply made or miniature. And free returns. I highly recommend! 23. I feel like 98% back to normal, haha. Sometimes if I lift my arms straight up in the air I can feel a little tightness in my armpit. But yoga on Tuesday REALLY stretched things out and it has been significantly improved the last 2 days. It's really not even noticeable. My abs are 100% except I am actually sore from doing my crunches and I never used to get sore before. I was allowed to lift up to 10lbs a few days post-op. Now I have no weight restrictions; just to take it slow. I do my tricep extensions and bicep curls with 5lb dumbbells right now... not sure on the chest press and lat pulls because it's in kilograms and I can't remember what weight it is. LOL. I just remember where the pin goes. The yoga was SO SO helpful in stretching out the scar tissue on my arms. I can't wait to go back next week. It felt so good.

So, update.... I gave all of my bread and crackers to my stepdad. Just better NOT to have it in my house. I will still allow it if I am out at a restaurant... but it doesn't need to be in my home where I can just eat it every meal. Already dropped 2lbs by reverting back to my strict bariatric-friendly diet. I plan on having some falafel on a pita for lunch today - my "bready" treat for the week - going to lunch with a coworker.
