  5. If you have had bariatric surgery or are planning to, PLEASE look up Dr. Vuong on youtube or purchase one of his many books about bariatric surgery. He is a bariatric surgeon and he is absolutely amazing. I am so glad I found him while still pre-op.
  6. its definitely the sugar content from the juice.
  7. You should not be exercising!! Watch this video by internationally accredited bariatric surgeon Dr. Vuong.
  8. Need to do some introspection and figure out the root cause of not being satisfied. Was it an emotional void that you were unable to satisfy? Is it because you aren't getting enough nutrition from your diet? Remember, calories are not all created equal. 200 calories from a bagel will not make you near as full as 200 calories from fresh fish and fruit. Look up Dr. Vuong on youtube. Tons of information to help you.
  9. Scheduled for February 21st!!!!
  10. Need to watch Dr Vuong's videos on youtube about this topic. It's probably 99% due to your dietary choices. Good luck.
  11. Anyone had trouble getting approved by insurance because of their weight history? Mine requires a BMI of at least 40 for the last 3 years if there’s no co morbidities. Back in 2016 I only weighed 230 which means my BMI was only 38 ? I’m really worried about not getting approved!!
  12. I really like the simplicity of this answer! Makes sense! Thank you ❤️
  13. I’m pre-op and have my final weigh in on the 17th. I’m 10 lbs away from the pre-op weight they set for me. We’re required to lose 7% of our total weight in 3 months which was about 23 lbs for me. I’m struggling so hard. I’m a Dispatcher for a police department and we constantly have cake, pizza, donuts, etc being brought in almost daily. The temptation to eat the sweets is almost unbearable. I know this is a mind game. I want this more than I’ve ever wanted anything in my entire life. But I cannot seem to simply say “no.” Anyone have any tips or have been through this before their surgery too?
  14. I think the rate doesn’t matter. You’re beginning your health journey! How exciting!!!! Best of luck to you!! ?
  15. Suck it up, buttercup. This was a life changing decision. Do what you have to do and trust the process. You’ll be glad you did it later.
  16. Yep, mine was/is 3 months. Sucks, but I think it's a necessary evil.
  17. I am in the preop phase of my vsg journey. I’m trying to drink 64 oz of water a day, which is a HUGE change for me! My question is, is it OKAY to drink Crystal Light every day as my 64 oz of water??? It helps me so much. Does crystal light could as water?
  18. Woah. Awesome explanation
  19. Thank you both so much. It’s definitely cruel and I know a lot of hospitals don’t require the pre op program. But it is the only one close to me. And yeah, maybe my doc can help me with the appetite. I’ll bring it up when I go in for my weigh in.
