My surgiversary is 6/18/19. Three years out and I look and feel great! I weighed 280 pre-op and lost 140. My biggest complaint is gas. I was feeling terribly self conscious because I thought I lost too much weight. Took me awhile to get used to it.

If your surgeon isn't worried and you are following his/her instructions, I wouldn't worry. Let the tool do its work and walk, walk, walk! Good luck to you!

This is my first post. I'm from MA and am having the Gastric Sleeve on 6/18/19.
Nervous and excited. I'm grateful to everyone who is sharing their own experiences and truths. I know that life will be dramatically different.
Best of luck to all the June Sleevers!
Welcome! I'm in Boston as well and having surgery the same day at BMC. I'm halfway through the pre-OP diet. 😫 Good luck!

So am I! I was super nervous but now I'm just excited and ready to be on the other side of surgery and on my weight loss journey.

You made it to the other side! Congrats. Now comes the hard work.

Especially the gas pain, but you know who told me what do when that happens? My WLC family here, so I got my butt up and started walking . It worked. Thank from the bottom of my heart... good night
Congrats! Indeed, there is a wealth of information here. My surgery is 6/18. I already have in my head that I'm going to walk away the pain.

I got my Vitamins and supplements, Gatorade zero, Protein Drinks, sugar free popsicles, and sugar free jello/pudding. Anybody else want to add to the list?

Yes! I'm having surgery at BMC with Dr. Pernar. What about you?

I was looking forward to an end of October early November surgery, but ended up having to complete 30 days wearing a cpap first. Last night made 30 days, so I had them schedule my clearance followup for today! Day 31. I wish you well on your journey.
It is frustrating and disheartening but we have got to keep moving forward. Fingers crossed that all goes well for you!

I passed my clinical eval and I don't have H Pylori. My Iron and Vitamin D levels were extremely low so the doctor didn't clear me for surgery. I started a 12 week Vitamin D regimen and have to get 2 iron infusions. I'll have my numbers checked again next month but a December date is a no-go for me. Good luck to you all that are moving forward!

21 minutes ago, Dollfacenetta said:I finished everything so now I’m hoping to go into my pre op appointments with a surgery date soon. The psych eval was really quick and easy for me. The appointment didn’t even last 20 mins. Hopefully yours is as easy as mine was.
Thanks! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Hoping everything stays on schedule.

I'm having surgery (VSG) with Dr. Pernar in December, hopefully. The last thing on my checklist is the psych eval which is scheduled at the end of this month.

Congratulations! I'm at day 9 of not smoking. Try seltzer instead of diet soda or just ice-cold Water. Might as well try to get used to it now if you can.

I've completed everything except my psych eval and nicotine test. I'll have both at the end of this month. Hoping for a December date.
Would love to hear from June surgiversary People !

Took me about 2 weeks for swelling to go down. If you are pre-op, my best advice is to walk, walk, walk as much as you can afterwards. The gas causes more pain than the incisions. You're not going to want to but do it any way!
