    My stats are below....

    But from seminar to surgery was one month... They submitted the paperwork to Tricare for approval for surgery on a Thursday it was there approved on Friday...

  2. I am totally obsessed with cooking shows and cook books.... I think of ways that I can make them figure friendly!!!

    I find it a great way to get prepared for when I am eating normally.... ohh and I get to use my Family as lab rats trying them out!!! hahahahahah

    Watching other people eat fattening food isn't going to make your band fail... Eating them will.... While you watch them cooking and eating jot down ways to make them lower fat and lower calories...Maybe run in place during the commercials.... hahahah You will LOSE weight while watching others eat fatteing foods!!

  3. I had my gallbladder out in Oct... and it was terrible.. Make sure she is taking her pain meds every 4 hours... I had to do that for the first week and then just mortin during the day and then the heavier drugs at night.....

    I had my lap band in May and it was a cinch compared to the gallbladder...So she is such a trooper for having both done at the same time....

    Keep giving her Water and add some unflavored Protein to her warm broth to help her to feel stronger....

    My most comfortable position after my gall bladder removal was in bed with my head propped up and two pillows under my knees as well...

    ohh and kudos to you for being a supportive Hubby and coming here for some help!! Keep it up!


  4. I got 100% whey unflavored powder... I use the hottest I can get Water out of the tap..... TOO hot and the powder clumps...I use one scoop and one teaspoonish of better then boulion chicken base and 8-10 ounces of the hot tap water... Blend it up with a stick blender and you have 21 grams of Protein and it ISNT sweet...It helped me to break up the sweetness.... And the unflavored protein turns it milky colored but doesnt change the flavor....


  5. I am not having any signs of weakness or feeling sluggish at all... I am back to getting up at 530am and working out for an hour... I go to bed around 10:15pm...I watch the news long enough to see the highlights and the weather....

    I have been having 8 ounces of the new cranenergy drink. It has 30 calories and has b Vitamins and green tea extract... I starting having that after my workouts... a friend who also has the band recommended it to me.

    I am only 4 days into mushies myself...What kinds of things are you eating....? Maybe you need to change things up....

    This is what a day looks like for me...

    work out

    24 ounces of Water

    8 ounces of cran energy drink

    1/2 cup egg beaters with 1 1/2 TBS of lite cream cheese cooked and then pureed....

    24 ounces of Water

    1/2 cup ricotta cheese with 1 TBS of egg beaters cooked for 3 minutes in microwave.... 1/4 cup of marinara on top and a sprinkle of mozzerella cheese and a 1/4 cup of non sweetened applesauce

    24 ounces of water

    1/2 cup refriend Beans with no fat sour cream and salsa

    24 ounces of water

    1 Protein shakesometimes made with half a banana if I am feeling hungry

    1 chewable adult Vitamin

    sip on water till bedtime

  6. Diet direct.com and get WonderSlim..... They are the BEST... no after taste and they come in a ton of flavors.....I love to make the mocha one warm in the morning or at night... 100 calories and 15 grams of Protein...

    I have a TON of unused shake types in my cupboard... I swear I could open a test kitchen for them LOL!!!

    I hate hate hate the Protein powder taste.... wonderslim.. has none... The only flavor I am not a big fan of is vanilla...

    chocolate.. chocolate mint.. mocha.. strawberry.. berry creme smoothie.... I like all of those


  7. I POSTED THIS IN THE MAY THREAD BUT THOUGHT I WOULD POST IT HERE SEEING HOW I AM LIVING IN NEBRASKA AND HAD SURGERY IN OMAHA

    Hi everyone!!!

    I went to my 2 week post op appt yesterday..... I am down a total of 27 since I started this journey.... about 14 of those are since surgery. :tongue2:

    I also got the go ahead to exercise again.. I got up at 530am this morning and did that for an hour... Felt most excellent to be back at Curves! The girls were all impressed to see me back so soon.....They missed me LOL!

    I am able to have apple sauce and blended banana cottage cheese yogurt ricotta cheese refried Beans things like that over the next 2 weeks. I had a Protein shake with half a banana in it and now I am having some no fat refried Beans with no fat sour cream and some smooth salsa on top! Tastes really good....Not as much Protein as I usually get in at "lunch"... only about 10 grams so I will need to have a shake for an afternoon snack.

    Things are progressing very well for me... I am still thrilled with my decision.

    After two weeks with these foods I can move onto pureed meats like chicken salads and tuna salad... soft fish... and soft cooked veggies...and then onto regular foods....

    I may not be getting a fill until August because I have summer travel plans and they dont match up well with the fill schedule.. she did however say that I can make an arrangement if I feel like I need one and it is outside of the two times a month they do fills. The 3rd Friday in July just may work out though. So it is going to either be July or August for a fill... OR she said if I dont feel I need one then whenever I want one to give a call....

    How is everyone else doing???????


  8. My nutritionist said I can eat pureed foods like chicken, egg salad, tuna, and so on.

    Yummy I cant wait to have chicken salad!! I am going to boil some chicken and then make my own up.... I am not a big fan of the canned chicken... it taste too much like tuna to me... I like tuna... but when I get chicken I want it to taste like chicken LOL!

    Thanks for the replies girls!! I was beginning to think I was talking to myself around here.....


  9. Anyone else tried this? I got a small packet of the egg white Protein today. I made it with Water a little Walden Farms chocolate sauce and a half of a banana. It was really good... I took a sip before I added the choc and banana and it had an odd taste BUT after adding it was really good.

    Has anyone tried the other flavors or the whey product....Share your thoughts....

    I was intrigued to try it because they use stevia.... It has excellent reviews.....

    Calcium Caseinate is derived from fresh skim milk. It is comprised of 92% Protein and is found in your common weight gainers for that thick taste. Casein is very very slow to digest, thus it leaves a constant flow of aminos through your blood stream long after you take it in. This eliminates a catabolic environment, which is very important.

    Here is the cow hide thing I found

    Damodaran extracted Gelatin Protein from cow hide and used it to make a compound called Gelatin hydrolysate


  12. I am doing really great... Better then I had expected actually. I had my gallbladder out Oct 07 and that was WAY worse then the recovery from lapband.

    I go for my two week post op appt today and I hope to get the ok to start back at Curves. I have missed going there and I need to get back on track with that as well.

    I have been doing liquids and I am very satisfied. I never feel hungry unless I have waited too long for a shake. In fact waiting on people to eat is a pain in the rear LOL!

    I am guessing that since I went to my PCP for my referral to the surgeon I have lost almost 25 pounds. Since my surgery I have lost about 12. I came home from the hospital 10 pounds heavier then when I left the morning of my surgery. So really I have lost almost 20 since I came home. It took almost a week to get the 10 pounds of swelling and fluids out of me.

    Let see... I can sleep in any position that I desire with no pain. I can sit up from laying down flat no problem. My incisions are all about healed except for the port one. One end of it is still a little red but I am treating it. I have a little bruising left behind but other then that all looks good with the incisions... I actually have to hunt for one of them.

    I should be able to start full liquids after my appt today... so some cream Soups and yogurt cottage cheese things like that.

    If you have any other questions let me know.... I am pretty much an open book!!
