Hi. I'm 5 days out. Walk, walk, walk hahaha. Someone else said the same thing to me and its true. It will help your recovery and help get that gas out. See if your doctor will let you use gas x too. It helps a lot. Good luck and feel better.I made if to the other side. I'm not going to lie, I am in a lot of pain but I think most of it is gas pain that's having trouble getting out. I just keep telling myself "you wanted this"!

Awesome. I hope all goes well. I had the surgery yesterday. So far so goodThis is my first time posting. I just scheduled my bypass surgery for October 30. My doctor doesn't require any special diet before surgery. Had 3 month insurance requirement. That seemed to fly by!

I have the baritastic app and it has a count down, when it got to 14 days the anxiety really set in. I suggest you download the app its helped me stay on track with my preop diet. It also has recipes, a timer, and other cool stuff. Good luck to you.30 days for me. It’s getting very real.

Hi. Hang in there. You're doing great so far. I lost 10.8 lbs the first week. Today my second week starts. It gets easier. You got this!Hi everyone! I have bypass scheduled for Oct 8th. I started the preop diet 2 days early because I had a couple days eating my favorite food (chicken wings [emoji39]). I didn't do any major damage, but I know I have imperfect eating habits so I'm trying to do the best I can. I've lost 9.5lbs so far since Saturday. I get 3 shakes a day and 2 small low calorie Snacks like a cup or broth or a cheese stick. I'm struggling but I just keep telling myself I've come too far and have spent to much money to go back now! We can do this!

Are you allowed to have broth? I suggest you make your own and then strain it. Store bought ones are not as good as home made ones. Also, I don't know if you're having this issue but I kept craving stuff when I saw others eating it. I don't eat while others are eating. It sounds lonely but it has helped keep me on track. Hi. I'm on the 7th day of my 2 week preop liquid diet (surgery Oct. 3rd). The worse part is the headaches. After a few days the hunger goes away. Keep hydrated. Btw, I'm worried about the depression too. I've lost 10 lbs in 1 week on this diet. I'm hoping that after surgery the weight loss keeps me motivated and hopefully helps with that depression. I hope neither one of us experiences that. Good luck with everything.My gastric bypass is set for 10/8. Started pre-op diet yesterday. Woke up today w/ a Headache but other than that, it's not awful. A little nervous about the actual procedure and post-op stuff but I'm confident that I'll get thru...My biggest concern is the post-op depression that I've read about on this forum. TBH, that scares me a lot.

Hi. When I got home yesterday I caught up on my water and it did make a difference. Now I just gotta remember to bring it with me. Thank you for the tips.As Matt said, the pre-op does suck. Just always remember to keep a bottle of Water with you. I never leave the house anymore without my water bottle filled.
Get creative with your liquid pre-op. Get canned Soups (make sure low in fat, sugar, carbs, etc) try to go for the broths, if you like to cook make your own broths and strain and this will help keep you fuller longer.

Thank you, that helps. Hopefully by the time I see my surgeon on Monday I'm not irritable hahaha.The pre-op sucks. But do your best and stick with it. It DOES get easier as you work through it and it certainly does make things that much easier for post op.

That's one of my weaknesses too . I'm confident that pre and postop diets will help me curve that craving. A lot of stuff that is made of bread is being made with other stuff now. Like cauliflower Pizza Crust. I've never tried it but it's better to have a healthier alternative than nothing. I think we'll survive.[mention=349060]SarcasticJopanda[/mention] ... bread is my enemy and my dietian told me thats a big no no.

I'm struggling with the first day of liquid diet hahaha. My nutrionist told me that eventually I'd be able to have those foods again in moderation and in way smaller servings. That's a bit motivating. Right now I just need to get through these 2 damn weeks. Good luck!!!Is anyone nervous or struggling with their breakup with food...? Knowing they'll never be able to eat their favourite foods? [emoji53]

I have been overweight my entire life and have had health issues from it for at least 15 years. I am super excited but it was like “ It just got real!” Good luck and good health to everyone!

Hi. I'm having my surgery Oct 3rd. I started my preop 2 week liquid diet today. I made the mistake of leaving the house without anything to have while I was out. By the time I got home I felt like ****. Does it get easier? Any tips? All feedback is appreciated.
