Thanks Janet and Cheri for describing co-dependent, it sounds different yet some similarities to enabling. I am a people pleaser too so have that trait and in some ways controlling in wanting it done right type ways, but on the other hand am not a rescuer at all sometimes I feel as if I am too cold in that area. You've opened my eyes a lot to what the term meant. Arlene, so what are these fillers supposed to do? decrease wrinkles? are you happy with the results. Not sure I could deal with the needles in my face. I'll just have to grow old and get wrinkly LOL like a shar-pei puppy. LOL

Okay, I am back home and can post more. I sure hope Julie is okay and recovering well by now. Been thinking of her all morning. I just realized Daylight Savings time starts this weekend. I AM SO HAPPY!! I just love when the clocks change for that, not too fond of going back to standard time in the fall, I love the extra daylight in the evening. Janet, I agree you are a hottie, but so nice to hear from others and even a younger other! You rock! I am struggling some and trying to stay busy. I just miss that grandbaby so much and my daughter and want so badly to be there, but also gotta be careful I don't overwhelm them too. This is their time and their new family starting out. Doesn't help that DH is out of town as well, he'll be back soon though. And I'll be holding that baby no later than Monday. DD told me she'd try and do a video chat on the XBox Kinect this afternoon too so am awaiting that. I have it on in the other room on the LastFM radio playing so if/when she signs on she can see I am on. LOL I also love that Last FM, I can put in a singer I like and it plays their music and others like it and I can either Ban or Love songs so it learns my tastes and plays mostly music I like.

Good morning, on my way out the door so this is goign to be short. But, Apples just called me and asked me to post because she's on the road and not home til 6 tonight. Julie called Apples from the hospital. They have run a bunch of tests and discovered that her band has eroded and they are taking her in for emergency surgery to remove it. Julie is very scared and nervous about losing her band. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers today. Will post if/when I hear more as will Apples. Good luck Julie I am praying for you. Perhaps there's a connection to your pain and all from this? Love ya!

Good evening. Watching Biggest Loser, love that show. Meredith, We actually have lots of Carters stores around here, must be because of all the huge families and kids. DD in Denver only has one and it's a ways from her. Here I have 3 of them withing about 12 miles or so. Fun stores. Cheri, this is probably a dumb question that I should know the answer to but here goes. I hear the term a lot in todays world of co-dependent, but what is it exactly? Is it the same as someone playing victim? I suppose I could google it, but you have such a way of explaining things that makes such sense, if you don't mind answering.

Good afternoon. Well I am home from my shopping excursion, spent $50. Not bad, my total was $46 but if I spent $4 more I got to save $10 so of course I was able to find something. LOL Would you believe they make infant flip flops? Have no idea if she will be able to keep them on but I had a coupon for $5 and that's what I got to make my total $50. LOL They have an elastic strap across the back. My friend had a blast as well, only she was having a little difficulty as she doesn't know if she's having a grandson or granddaughter yet. They just don't make a lot of unisex stuff anymore, I suppose it's because everyone knows what they are having? Grandbaby is doing okay, her bilirubin levels were up some, she is to do the window thing tomorrow and they will retest on Thurs. again. She gained 2 oz overnight too, she's back up to 5lb 12 oz, she went from 6 lbs 6 oz to 5 lbs 10 oz in the hospital. DD was up almost every hour last night. DH just laughed and said paybacks. Poor thing is awake all night and asleep all day. Meredith, hope you can get your fill right. Perhaps you are just irritated or swollen from the fill and after a day or two it will settle down? Arlene, when you are 'wide open' is that also when you eat the hard Proteins? or is that when you have more slider type foods? Sometimes I feel wide open but and hungry then realize what I just ate really wasn't hard proteins and I am reminded of my fill when I do eat a harder Protein and I get stuck. Apples, everyone needs a lazy day once in a while. How thoughtful the extra goodies you include with your meals. I am having company this weekend and the meal I stress about most is I never know what to have for Breakfast. I made some breakfast burritos ahead of time for one morning but got any ideas for something quick and easy for the other? I have a few breakfast casserole recipes I may choose from, but just not sure. I don't like to have to fuss much when the company is here, I would rather have something I can have ready and just throw in the oven the morning of or something. Eva, I've considered letting my gray come out. My hairdresser said that she could do some highlights while it is doing that and it wouldn't be as noticeable. I think but am not sure, that I have a real pretty silvery gray so think of trying it once in a while. But I am afraid of it aging me too much.

Good morning! Ahh how wonderful it was to get a great nights sleep. I slept from 10pm to 8am! AHHH!! Was so tired, I felt like a grandma! LOL didn't sleep at all Friday night/Sat morning, of course, with little Katelyn being born at 250am. The next night DH's blackberry went off all night long over some damage to an airplane in one of his cities. And then yesterday we got up at 4am to come home. I'd probably still be sleeping if DMIL hadn't called at 8. LOL That's not usually too early to call me, she felt bad, but I think I got enough sleep. LOL Today my McD's friend and I are going to McD's and then hitting the baby stores SHOPPING!! She just found out she's going to be first time grandma and we've been wanting to go shopping together but this is our first opportunity. LOOK OUT! LOL We have several Carters outlets here I think we are hitting some of those first. DD takes the baby to the dr this morning to get her jaundice checked out. I am very anxious for her to call about that and to hear how her first night at home went. But I am trying not to call her too much and be a pest so am trying to learn patience. LOL HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARLENE!!!! Nope not giving anything up for lent, I'm not Catholic and never really got into that or saw the reason to. The one thing I like about Lent is all the restaurants have good fish deals! and the grocery stores too. What is radiese? Joyce, hope your broken elbow is healing good and not hurting too much. Apples, sorry you got drama going on. Praying it gets better soon. Melissa, yep, you gotta be good about not bringing the junk into the house so that your DH doesn't think it's all right. My poor DH and the stuff I put him through in the years of my diet struggles. One day I'd be asking him to buy me something and the next I'd be mad at him for bringing something into the house. He never knew if I was 'on or off my diet'. But once I was serious and during my lapband journey he has been wonderful. Phyl, I hope you can get your knee surgery scheduled at a good time. Could you stay in CA a little longer to have it done down there? LauraK, sounds like the new fill is doing it's job. Good for you!

Good afternoon! I got back home this morning. I cried when I had to say good bye to DGD last night but will see her in a week. She is just so adorable. Even the nurses were commenting on how 'pretty' she was etc. but then again, they probably do to all the new babies, but I just know she's the cutest! LOL DD's labor was so quick, just a couple pushes and she was out. They were to go home this morning but got held over til this afternoon as the baby developed jaundice and had to be under some lights. They have to go in to the pediatrician tomorrow morning to remeasure her bilirubin levels. They think this could be from a couple of things she may not be getting enough breast feeding, also baby's blood type and mom's are different and that could have something to do with it. I don't understand it all and am going to do some googling, but don't want to scare myself either. In the meantime she has to supplement with some certain formula. She sleeps so sound and doesn't want to wake up at times for feedings, I bet in a day or two DD will be wishing for those days again. LOL I had a hard time finding you all again, I stopped getting notifications and went to the new thread, I liked it as it loaded faster. Maybe I'll have to unsubscribe and resubscribe here to get the notifications going again. I did see that bitter person's post. Wow is all I gotta say. Arlene, it's ok if being grandma is expensive LOL I don't have a problem shopping for her. LOL Might have to join Janet's shopaholics though. LOL Linda, yep more trips to Denver! Meredith, hope you are feeling better. Karen, glad the birthday party went well. Are you thawing out up there yet? Janet, I didn't think of you as doing that much shopping. Once again thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for DD on Friday. It was sure a scary experience when she called and said she fell down the stairs. We were so lucky to get on our flight. We got to the hospital about 1030pm, nurse sent us home at 1230 saying labor would be hours yet, at 230 we got a call to hurry back. We heard her first cry outside the door. DD's MIL is behaving well, for her at least. She's still obnoxious don't get me wrong, but DD was so worried she'd force herself into the delivery room, etc. (she's a NICU and labor/delivery nurse by profession) DD purposely chose a hospital that her MIL did not work in. LOL Phyl, hope you can get your knee taken care of.

I'm frantic right now. DD just called she fell down half a flight of stairs. She's in hospital being monitored. Prelminary reports are good that baby is fine, heart rate was down from normal but still good. They said it could be because she is going in labor. They may keep her til she delivers. I am frantically getting ready to get out there. I may not be able to post on this site to update you but will try and text someone or email from my phone. I can read posts but haven't figured out how to post from my phone. Hopefully I can get on DD's computer sometime while there. Asking for prayers please! I'M GONNA BE GRANDMA!

Good morning! Still no baby news. Looks more and more likely it will be Monday, I see no one picked that day, I will pick it. LOL Is that cheating? LOL My pick was yesterday. Arlene, at least when you get a carb attack it's oatmeal. LOL Something a little more healthy than a donut. LOL To me oatmeal is one of the grossest (is that a word?) on the planet, so I can't imagine going for it when I want carbs. LOL I do eat it occassionally but not much as I really can't stand it. it's a texture thing for me. Meredith, have you held that baby yet? Apples, now that you are home, does it feel like you ever left? Does FIL stay in AZ year round now? Soon you will be heading to the lake.

Good morning. No baby yet! DH and I have decided to go to Denver on Saturday if she isn't born before then. That way we are there for the inducing day and earlier if she comes sooner. Just gotta get through today and tomorrow, but if I get the call my bag is half packed and ready to go! Karen, welcome home! Happy bday to DS if I forget. My DD was born in 1981 too, only September. Where is his party going to be? Is it a surprise? Janet, hugs on the kid issues. This generation seems to have even more of an entitlement attitude. Maybe I'm just older and notice it more but the pace of life is so much quicker in this day of instant messaging, ATM's, computers etc. We want what we want, when we want it and the younger generation even more so cause they grew up with it. We at least remember having to wait for the letter in the mail, only call long distance occassionally cause it was so expensive, etc. Melissa, my opinion (throw it out if you want) is that you need to stop looking outside yourself and look in. Only you have the power to do this. Your friend that is a downer, if she brings you down, you might have to do the hard thing and seperate yourself. You also can't make her want to do this, she has to want it for herself just as you have to want it for yourself. Your God friend, sure you need God, but He won't do this for you, you have to take the steps and do it for yourself. Hormones? Always going to be there, every month you can count on them. Stress? job, money, health insurance? Yep gonna be there too, but they are also things you can only control so much. Something you can control is what you eat, what you exercise, etc. Focus on that. Don't let those issues make you give up on yourself. Janet is one of the busiest people on this board, she works full time, til recently was raising a teenager, stress of losing some family members, taking care of an estate, etc. but she has always found time for herself, her exercise, etc. She is a perfect example of someone for you to follow, she didn't let life stop her and took the power to change her life instead of looking for excuses in her life to say she couldn't. LInda, too, look how busy she is with work, practically raising a grandchild, step daughter in and out of hospital, etc. but she doesn't look outwards to those things either to prevent her from focusing on herself. She even has to deal with the fibromyalgia pain and finds a way. Look at Cheri, the stressful job she has teaching those kids and going through the losses she has this year, plus she sings, has a very ill daughter and parent but she is still very focused and determined. Those are just a few examples of the wonderful successes here. You can do this too but you have to stop looking outwards for reasons that you can't and look inwards for reasons that you can and need to do this. If you can't afford to talk to someone is there a clergy member or something available? You can do this, we all have faith in you. Linda, that dinner sounds so yummy! I've been wanting DH and I to drive to Wendover NV to check out their buffet. Meredith, it's perfectly fine to not want kids. And what's so great is you know that before you have them. Sure your friendship is going to change with your friend but she's still going to need her friend and that baby is going to need Auntie Meredith! Is he/she born yet? Cheri, so glad the news was good for your DD and she has a great chance of beating this. Also that she's reaching out to you.

BABY UPDATE!!!!! DD had her appt today. She's dialated to 4 1/2 already, the dr stripped her membranes and said if she was dialated to a 5 they'd be sending her to Labor and Delivery now. But her opinion is leaning towards she thinks she could go into labor by tonight. However, if not, and if she doesn't deliver by Monday they will induce on Monday. WOOHOO!! I wrote down some of the baby picks in our little 'pool'. Apples has 10am today, Meredith has 227a tomorrow and I have 608pm tomorrow. LauraK has 411am on the 4th and Eva has 3am on the 5th. I AM GOING TO BE A GRANDMA!! NO LATER THAN MONDAY!!

Good evening peeps. I just got home from Denver. I flew out for the day to spend with Grandma and both DD and DS. Grandbaby wasn't co-operating in coming and I really needed to get out there to see Grandma so I went for that. I did pack a bag and carry it along just in case DGD wanted to make an appearance while Grandma was there and ready. LOL But nope she had other plans. DD does have a dr appt tomorrow, she's hoping they'll talk about inducing. Grandma was very happy to see me and both her great grandkids as I was. Hard to believe she will be 102 exactly 2 mos from today. We went shopping and to lunch. Now that's how I want to grow old! It saddens me to read of so many health issues here lately with our families and my heart goes out to each of you. Arlene, I love Dr Denese stuff, I got hooked when I worked at QVC, I've not gotten anything new lately and didn't get her recent TSV as I hate to spend that much money and end up with Oil of Olay stuff. But I had stockpiled so much on my discount that I am just now pretty much out of everything, I especially like the firming pads. Kelley, I didn't get any special cookbooks or anything so sorry I am not any help there, but I really didn't cook a lot different after surgery than before. Other, than I ate much smaller portions and didn't make the starchy side dishes. I mostly grilled meat or baked it. I couldn't do chicken breasts so did thighs, couldn't do certain beef cuts but could do filets and ribeyes, a little more expensive but I was buying much smaller portions. And fish, tilapia is a good one. We do have some very good cooks on this thread so maybe they'll have better ideas for you. I am not much of a talent in the kitchen.

Good morning! On my way to get younger (hair cut and colored) then who knows after that. Trying something new in the crockpot for dinner. Got a deal on round steak at the grocery store but I never cook that so didn't know what to do with it. Hopefully this makes it tender enough for me to eat. I watched the Oscars last night, for once I enjoyed them sortta. OK I didn't hate them like usual LOL. I had seen 3 of the movies so that helps. I saw Kings Speech (my favorite), The Fighter and True Grit. The last 2 were movies DH wanted to see and I actually enjoyed as well but Kings Speech was my absolute favorite and was so glad it won and that Colin Firth won Best Actor. Wish the gal that played his wife the queen would've won supporting actor instead of the one who dropped the F bomb. how unclassy. I understand it's the excitement of the moment etc. but aren't they getting awards because they are such professionals? She was good in the Fighter though. We watched the Oscars perfectly. I DVR'd them and then watched Amazing Race so when we went back to watch the Oscars it was already an hour and a half into the telecast and we were able to zip through lots of commercials and lots of speeches I wasn't interested in and Oprah! LOL We caught up to the live telecast just in time for best picture. Apples, hope the drive is going well. Tanker have his head hanging out the window?

Good morning almost afternoon. Not much new around here, no baby yet. GRRR Doesn't she know we are all ready to meet her? Janet, I love that outfit I got a while back at the Loft. It is navy and gray mostly with a white blouse under it. I get so many complements when I wear it too. Guess navy is my color. LOL I've been staying up late playing 'Word Chaos' on the computer. Apples, does FIL live full time in AZ now? I was thinking he was just down for winters too but by his good bye it sounded more permanent. What kind of place did you buy? Is it a 'park model' or whatever they call them? do you have pics? I sure wish I had made it down while you were there. I was waiting for DH and that was my first mistake. That and well the trips to Denver and Hawaii. Next year for sure with or without DH! Eva, how goes the espanol? Are you taking it just because? or is there a reason like some future travels etc? Sandy, nice to hear from you! Julie, hope the pain gets better. This has been going on too long. Any hopes for goign back to Mayo or anything?

Janet, that store is probably Anthropology or something like that. We have one here downtown. I like it. I don't do pastels either usually. I pass on most of those, but still manage to do enough damage in that store. LOL (Loft). Finally stopped snowing. Supposed to be in mid 50's by midweek so that will be nice. Cheri, sounds like a lot of work packing up your folks. DH's folks have been in the same house about 50 yrs and when I see all they have in that small brick home I can only imagine what's there that I can't see in the attic, basement, etc.

Good morning! More snow! GRRRR DH is out blowing it now. About 6 to 8 inches worth. But it's warmer so melting more which is good. At least now going into March with the snowstorms, when it does snow it melts pretty quickly and we get some nice days in between. I have spring fever bad! I love winter but am done with it a few weeks after the holidays. LOL No baby news yet. Janet, now did the store with 'the A in it' have an nn Taylor after it? is in Ann Taylor or Ann Taylor Loft? I am jealous if it did. LOL

Good morning. Nothing to report on the baby yet. DD is getting very impatient LOL and hormonal! LOL DH is home today on a vacation day if you call it that, he hasn't left his computer or Blackberry more than a few minutes though he is out snow blowing now. Yep more snow and more coming tonight. I am ready for spring! I thought that ground hog said spring was coming. I like winter but by Feb I have had enough winter. We might go see a movie today, not sure. He asked what I wanted to do today and one thing about UT there isn't much to do! LOL Don't want to drive in the mountains in the snow, we could go to Wendover about 90 min to the west which is a NV border town but don't want to do the snow drive either. Of course, he's not into shopping. LOL Prayers: for me it's how I communicate with my Lord and Saviour and ask for His intercession, healing, blessings, power, etc Cheri, my prayers are with you. So sorry to hear about your daughter and dad. Arlene, glad mom is moved back home and doing better. Phyl, you are a nurse! you should know go to the dr if you aren't better! hope you are better soon Laura, saw some pics on FB looks like you are having a great time. Did your folks come along?

Goodness we have every day picked from Feb 24 until March 2nd for the baby pool. So I'll take the next date of March 3rd at 608pm. (I picked 608pm in a time pool that DD's BIL was doing - no dates just times). Though I think she'll come sooner. The 28th is my dad's birthday. He was a twin though the other twin was still born and he came on 2/29. Interestingly in DH's family he has twin cousins that were born on 2/28 for one and 2/29 for the other as well. They are the same age as DD. The one born on 2/29 celebrates on 3/1 to have her own day I think. I am so ready for spring. It's bright and sunny out today, though not real warm but they are saying more snow by Friday. I love sitting out back on our patio by the pond and waterfall. We tried on Monday and I was wrapped in 2 blankets and still too cold. Phyl, hope you are feeling better. Arlene, are you still going to WW? haven't heard you mention going lately. Julie, my kids gave each other haircuts once as well. It grows out and becomes a fun memory. DS also tried to bleach his hair once, with Clorox! He was older when he did that. Janet, good thing it's a 3 day work week for you, you need the break from all the work you are doing in your 3 days. Apples, seems like you just got to AZ. I am disappointed to not make it down, I really thought we would as DH keeps saying he has to go to Tuscon but other problems keep propping up. He is going to Phoenix next week.

I never miss Biggest Loser, that is my number one show. I like Jesse and Rulon and Rulons friend the most, but like most of the contestants this time, unlike last time. Ooops not Jesse, Moses, am watching now and got the names wrong. I never hard of that movie, will have to watch for it. Good luck on the Protein train. I know you struggle with carbs, are you going to still have your oatmeal and just work on cutting out the other carbs or are you going protein only?

Arlene, maybe I'll go see the movie sometime when DH is out of town, I do that once in awhile. What is Gracecard? Never heard of it. What sort of work does your DH do? Linda, yeah, I understand it, for some reason I thought you had adopted Katie as well. Sounds like a very stressful situation and it seems that you are handling it well. Arlene, I thought of seeing that Adam Sandler movie but DH refuses to see it because of the whole concept of it. Do these fillers last forever or is it something you have to maintain? My Sis in law gets botox, not sure I could do it. Guess I'll just have to age. LOL Well 'cept for my hair, it's not going gray yet as long as I can afford the upkeep. LOL Thanks for the well wishes for DD. I can tell by talking to her she is very down and well a bit grumpy too. Her hormones must be all over the place too, she's hard to even talk to, so I am trying just to listen. DH says he's staying clear til the baby is born. LOL

Sorry to hear about Katie, LInda. Never heard of what you said she was diagnosed with. Does she have a lot of drugs in her? I pray that she gets the help she needs. Could she lose Aylah? She's lucky to have you there for her. Where is Katie's mom in this, if you have no say? Sorry lots of questions don't answer if you don't want. I've been awaiting calls all day from DD. She was up sick all night throwing up and can't keep anything down. She has bad pain as well but not like labor pain or regular. She went to Dr this morning and they 'lost' her appt and she had to see the nurse practitioner since the dr was busy that she was supposed to see. They did a blood test for eclampsia since she was so swollen and had small amounts of Protein in urine but her b/p is fine but higher for her. It came back negative. The NP told her sometimes you get nauseous as the body is getting ready for labor, or it could be her gall bladder acting up. Since the blood tests were fine they didn't induce. She's feeling so down and ready to have this baby. The gall bladder has really been bothering her lately. She's dialated to a 3 now and was even having contractions at dr office but not hard ones. She was sent home to wait. She was frustrated not being able to see the dr but she's not assertive enough to insist either. She's at 38 weeks now. Not much else new. Need to get back at exercise, I haven't done it since getting back from Hawaii. Feeling a little under the weather myself as has DH, like we are fighting off colds or something. I've had a sore throat for about a week, it's better today, if it worsens I'll call my dr.
